“Life is too short to get a real job,” says Elia Colombo, also known as Gebe, and we are nothing but grateful for his unusual motto, as it got this Italian artist to where he is now. Gebe combines his passion for graphic design and philosophy to create thought-provoking, cool drawings.

The freelance designer, illustrator, and self-named ‘free spirit’ turns his views and observations into colorful conceptual deep drawings that hold a mirror to social problems, pointing out its flaws with a fair share of humor and irony. Gebe seeks perfection in simplicity, which results in a minimalistic and provocative satire in an image.

In his polished illustrations, Gebe reflects on controversial topics, such as social habits, media, religion, and self-love making us face the harsh reality of today’s world.

These clever illustrations provide quality food for deep thoughts, so we hope you are hungry!

I dunno, these things are not as bleak as it makes out. Giving birth, a good childhood, an education, Family, a rewarding career... when these are done right, they are kinda awesome. What else am I supposed to be running off to that is so amazing anyways?

I love this; the shooting heart, the picture of the couple , the yearning, longing and homesickness...

This may not be what this is trying to get across, but it makes me think about school teaching us calculus but not how to do our taxes (or other things similar to that). Sure, we may feel good learning things that may or may not help our fancy future careers along, but wouldn't it be better to make sure we get what everyone has to do as an adult first?

I find it a smidge ironic that there are so many anti-education drawings, and yet this one values reading. Obviously, people can learn to read without going to school, but that's the best way to reach the most people. (And as an avid reader, I love this one, BTW.)

Thats not how I’m experiencing it today. My kids have a giant touch screen board which has WiFi access in the class room. They spend more time on research group tasks then I spent on in college and are taught to dream big and get the confidence to achieve it. And they are all under 10 years old.

as a person with many suicidal and/or depressed friends, this hurt. even though I myself haven't even thought seriously about taking my own life, i know they have. please remember that suicide doesn't stop the pain... it just passes it along.

I loved school at every age, I never felt this way. I always thought summer break was too long. And as an adult I went back for evening classes just for fun. I guess to each his own.
