I was born in Romania 32 years ago. I can't imagine my life too much time far from my country. You will see in the photos why.
Romania has all 4 seasons, all kind of landforms, sea, rivers, old churches, medieval towns, Delta, rare birds, wildlife, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, traditions preserved hundreds of years.

and then you get to meet the corrupt government, the communism that still lives in everybody, the terrible mentality of "let's drag down everybody that's trying to do something good" and you quickly get over these cool pictures. sure it's good for a holiday, but when you eventually live there for longer ... you will get the point.
People have forgotten what natural beauty looks like. Everywhere we turn it's all make-up and plastic surgery gone mad. But this woman is stunning without all that c**p
Beautiful pictures. I have a Romanian friend who introduced me to the beauty of Romania beyond my limited view of it. Up until that point, my impression of the country was quite ignorant, restricted to what I considered a chaotic Bucharest and similar urban-like sceneries. The diversity of the landscapes, the picturesque small villages captivated my heart. I have always been a Bram Stoker's fan too; cliche, I know. Every one I know, who visited Romania, loved it and I'm eager to go in the future too. I wish the pictures had captions explaining a little bit the region or history behind but, nevertheless, they are lovely.
My greatgrandparents left because of antisemitism and pogroms, so I'm good here (anywhere else). Quaint towns and nice scenery can be found anywhere.
These are the main reasons I miss home. I miss the mountains and lakes and forests and all the beautiful places. Sometimes I'm a bit sad knowing that my children will never know how beautiful it is
What an absolutely wonderful and truly awe inspiring country. The pictures are nothing short of whimsical
Yes, Aurel, it's a great work, but you should try to take some other pictures in Teleorman or Vaslui...
Hey Aurel: thank you for the post. I really appreciate the people that shows also the beautiful side of Romania. Chiar am rămas uimit de frumusețile țării. Mult respect
I was in Romania couple months ago and it was one wonderful experience!
Great job Aurel. Thank you for that. I miss my country a lot. It's nice to see a part of our beautiful landscapes.
These are great, thank you for sharing them! I' ve always wanted to travel more in Romania, for now I've been just in Bucharest. My mother used to live in Romania for few years as a child, so she loves the country and loved to tell me stories about it.
Reading the comments, priceless ! We are dealing with two different camps here - those who try to make a product (present Romania as a beautiful place) - and those who still live in the past , ticketing today's Romania as it was 40 years ago. To be hones , as a romanian, Romania is nothing like this. the country side is getting poorer and poorer (living as a elder if miserable ) while the cities are getting crowded then ever. We are eaten by a computed system regardless of the domain we are talking with young people preferring to work somewhere else, anywhere else beside their country and parents overwhelmed by the changes in the working field. And yet we still have nice landscapes and beautiful grandparents worthy of our admiration. Sorry for my bad English. xoxo
It would be nice to know where (which city, mountain, region or something) the pictures were taken... Romania is a very large country. Beautiful pics though
the problem is, most of these pictures are taken in annexed Hungarian lands, just a reminder. And forgot to attach some nice Bucharest photos ;) Oh, and I'm not Hungarian
The pictures are cool but they neglect to show the copious amounts of trash everywhere...but still a super cool country.
What a hypocritical lot you all are, any country can look good, but it's what the people treat their pets like that tells you a lot about them. The cruelty that is perpetrated towards strays and animals in sanctuaries is disgraceful, only this week 500 healthy dogs, including puppies are being euthanized. These were once people's pets, but when they got fed up with them they threw them away. Street dogs are hunted down and attacked with axes and clubs. Is this against the law NO! Some provinces actually pay people to actively kill these poor animals. So do I think it's a beautiful country, with beautiful people, HELL NO!!!
