This Beautiful Farm Toy Has An Ugly Secret

It may look like an ordinary farm toy – a shed with farm animals inside…but open the doors and you’ll find shelves of chickens, pigs and cows all crammed in. It’s a world away from the idyllic farm you’ll find in your toy shop, but this is an honest farm toy.

It’s been developed by the clever bods at Compassion in World Farming, the world’s leading farm animal welfare charity, to draw attention to the conditions 50 billion farm animals live in across the world. It’s taken 2 months to complete and each animal has been lovingly hand painted.

It tells the real story of our food, and if you decide there has to be a better way, you can go to the Your Farm website to fix your farm and let your animals roam free, just as nature intended.

More info: yourfarmtoy.com

Choose an attractive label and take your food to market

Customers might not like what you’re doing, so you’d better keep your farm doors shut

But you can fix your farm…

And the animals are free to graze!

Such a clever toy design! A good way to bring out the horrible truth in commercial farming and create awareness

I think this is a really good toy, hope it comes with a story book or something to explain to little kids!

All life co-exists with each other. Every bit of matter is made from energy, which we all have to share. A lion is a carnivore. It eats meat. Meat comes from it prey. Its not doing anything wrong, its just being a lion. A rabbit is a herbivore, it eats only plant based materials. Its not doing anything wrong, its just being a bunny. We are humans, we are omnivores. You can tell this by the set of teeth we have. We can eat meat and plants based materials. Its not wrong to eat meat. Its an exchange of energy. Yes, you can choose to eat plants and many people lead healthy lives doing so. You may think that that is the moral high ground. What if one day you found out that eating plants hurt the plants as badly as killing an animal to eat it? Are you just going to stop eating all together? Please.Treating animals like they are already food is not right; eating meat from an animal that has been humanely killed and appreciating the energy it gives you is fine. Get over it.

What a load of c**p, why don't we just stop brutally murdering animals all together? How does a 'better' life validate slaughter?

Animal cruelty is horrible. Eliminating it is at least a step in the right direction.

Or, OR...it's sold that way so it fits on store shelves and it's SUPPOSED to be folded out completely right away. And then, you know, run like a normal farm.
