Cats are a source of inspiration for many people, in a variety of ways. Some get motivated to do something fun and playful, while others turn their passion into a full-fledged career.

This talented Korean artist, now based in Toronto, creates cat-inspired illustrations that are later transformed into permanent art as tattoos. In addition to their tattoo work, JoJo also makes a series of drawings that take amusing cat images and recreates them into even more comical pieces, showcasing their unique illustration style.

Today we would like to share these fun illustrations with you, but feel free to check out JoJo's social media accounts for more of their amazing work.

Bored Panda reached out to Jojo to learn more about their work.

Jojo has a unique signature style they draw in, therefore, we wanted to know how long it took them to find it. Jojo shared: “About 4 years ago, I started doing tattoos using characters like these. I didn’t think they were particularly unique, but I‘m grateful that many people appreciate them for their individuality.”

Though Jojo is a tattoo artist first, their cute project of recreated cat images is equally impressive. We were wondering how Jojo came up with the idea. “When people see cute things, it makes them feel good, and they want to enjoy it. I like to draw cute cat images to experience that feeling of cuteness,” Jojo wrote.

Jojo specializes in animal designs such as tigers and cats, so it is no wonder why they choose cats as the main subject of their recreations. “I just ended up pursuing cute things, and it happened to be cats. Haha,” shared Jojo.

And lastly, Jojo shared how it makes them feel seeing so many people loving their artwork. “I draw what I love, but it’s surprising and humbling to see so many people enjoy it. Drawing cute cats is still fun and enjoyable, but lately, I‘ve also felt a sense of obligation,” wrote Jojo.

Y’all notice how they add eye colors to the cats when all they have are black colored eyes

I could eat that. (Because it’s cute, not because I’d actually eat a cat-)
