I don't want to be a wet blanket, but I believe one of the reasons that "Florida Man" stories abound is that they have much more relaxed legislation when it comes to what and how many details news outlets can report on crimes.

There are right-to-be-forgotten rules about crime reporting in the US, but they aren't legislated and are voluntarily established by individual news organizations that elect to do so. The first amendment protects the news organization's right to publish what they like.

The other day I was driving down a main highway on the west coast sometime in the afternoon and there was a woman fully clad in gym gear, driving a CARRIAGE drawn by a MINI HORSE on the sidewalk. It was really hot day too. That poor poor little horse.... Althoutht I'm not in the practice of taking pictures, especially of other people I regret not taking a picture of this. There is definitely no shortage of wacky people.
