The Younger Generation Determines What Things Millennials Do That Are ‘Totally Uncool Now’ (24 Pics)
Usually, baby boomers are the ones who get the biggest share of roasting in the ongoing generational debate. Millennials and Gen Zs have dedicated an entire wave of memes, jokes, and puns, all composed in an internet language that sounds very foreign to boomer ears.
But this time it’s the millennials' turn to get a taste of their own medicine. You see, the Gen Z'ers of TikTok have joined forces in canceling the very millennial staple—skinny jeans. Some TikTokers have gone as far as saying they’d rather lose their homes than wear this revolting piece of clothing which makes your legs look like sausages and disturbs normal blood circulation.
Turns out, skinny jeans are just the tip of the iceberg. Let’s see what other millennial daily bread and butter is now canceled, and even though it’s cruel, it’s also kind of time to move on. After all, how many more selfies from above are we gonna take?

Defining the two generations of millennials and Gen Zs starts from establishing the years to which each of them belongs. A millennial is considered anyone born between 1980 and 1995. Meanwhile, a member of Gen Z is anyone born between 1996 and the early-mid 2000s (end date can vary).
But the real differences between these two generations are most apparent in their lifestyle choices, values, and preferences. This is partly because Gen Zers and millennials come from two completely different backgrounds.
While millennials came of age during the Great Recession, this new generation was in line to inherit a strong economy with record-low unemployment. However, the coronavirus pandemic has changed the circumstances of how Gen Z is approaching adulthood. Now they, just like millennials, face an uncertain future for the first time in their lives.
luckily for her not a single person in the world cares what she thinks
According to the new 2020 Pew Research Center survey, half of the oldest Gen Zers (ages 18 to 23) reported that they or someone in their household had lost a job or taken a cut in pay because of the outbreak. This was significantly higher than the shares of millennials (40%), Gen Xers (36%), and baby boomers (25%) who said the same.
Young workers like Gen Zers were particularly vulnerable to job loss as they were based in high-risk service sector industries that were among those who were hit the most during lockdowns.
Seems all gen Z does is complain according to these threads, pretty boring
I saw a post about this on Facebook a little while ago, and I really do wonder do actual people give a damn? I mean it's one thing to joke and have fun with it, but are there really people so obsessed with what the younger generation thinks of them that they will alter their sense of style to appeal to them?
Uh, I'm on the younger side of millennials and MTV still was mostly music in my early teens. Not most music I would care about but still music
Just remember, I've been young- you have never been old. (Keep it up and you won't be)
The differences are still present when it comes to the general view of work and education. A recent Way To Work survey that surveyed more than 1000 college students and recent graduates in the US found that Gen Zs are more concerned about the cost of education (21% of respondents) compared to millennials (13% of respondents).
The same survey also found that millennials tend to value stability (34%), while Gen Z is more concentrated towards finding their dream job (32%). But when it comes to parents' influence on making the big decisions, 42% of Gen Zers said they follow their parents’ influence, while only 36% of their millennial counterparts said the same.
Well the pace of technological advancements in our lifetime is batshit crazy. I have a few friends my age ( ~25) that can't properly operate a smartphone, or use various software. Some of the minillenials really don't have a clue about a lot of social media platforms, I for one am guilty in this partially, have no clue about snapchat, although I quite enjoy some of the content on tiktok and use instagram regularly, and like a proper ""old"" person I still use fb too. The other group is just trying to signal some sort of maturity, with consciously distancing themselves from the things that the younger ppl use. Like some sort of early "back in my day" syndrome. Although generally this part of people, who are somewhere inbetween the millenials and genZ (the so called lost generation, or gen F (look that one up)) are really diverse in this manner, some are really milleniall-y some belong to the more z-esque groups.
Sounds like all GenZs do is complain about Millennials. Y’all need a life.
Nah, my millennial is a nuclear engineer on a sub. Granted, he still would be playing magic(card game) if not for the pandemic!
If he's on a nuc boat, he's still playing Magic the gathering.

Am I the only one who finds posts like this one disturbing? This "rivalry" is rather toxic, isn't it? I mean, I'd rather not ridicule a whole generation, no matter what. Every generation has its great people and its a$$holes, but to put everyone in the same bag... it just doesn't seem right. Yes, I'm (late) millenial. I have friends who are more than thirty years older than me, friends around my age and friends who are from so called gen-Z. And guess what? Every one of them is a great, caring, smart person (as well as in every age group I know some really bad ones). Stop labeling people just because they were born in one year or another! It's not like we had any choice!
Exactly. This is just another stupid post insulting and generalising an entire generation. When will we learn that it is stupid to do this kind of comments?

We millennials shouldn't be taking s**t from a generation who ate Tide Pods and introduced dabbing to the world ;)
Load More Replies...I wish I had that much time and energy to waste on hating other people. And even if I did, I still wouldn't. What's the point of being an a$$hole? People on one hand say that everyone is equal no matter the gender, skin colour, sexual orientation etc etc. On the other hand, they hate people for what they like and the generation they come from. Double standards much?
Similarly, any boomer calling people under 25 millennials

Some of these were funny, but as I scrolled down I was overwhelmed by the feeling that prejudice against the "other" is absolutely EVERYWHERE. Feeling kinda sad now. But I will hold my millenial head high and use whatever emojii I like. #pizzaislife #adulting #ravenclaw4thewin
As a GenZ I think this is so dumb lmaoo, they sound so entitled. I'm embarrased for them
This article seems to promote negativity, bullying, and toxic conversations.
Maybe we can stop with toxic posts about rivalry and hating other generations? I come here for fun content and not to read about one generation bulling another one. Every generation has great people and idiots, we should concentrate on the great people and write articles about them.
Okay I am a millenial and I relate to none of these. I think this post is just ridiculous.
I really think it depends about where you lived (country, city/rural) and if you had friends the same age or not. My teenage years were spent in the punk and metal culture in rural Germany. No rose gold, stylish skinny jeans or Harry Potter for us.

it's funny how some young people think they'll never be over 30 and 'old'
What a pathetic post. I'm Gen X and I find people of every generation fascinating. We can all learn from older and younger folks. I do NOT understand an entire list of crap bashing a generation. WTF? Get a life.
Well, that's because Gen X people are wonderful 😜 Just-kiddi...c1e66c.jpg
Load More Replies...My takeaway from this is that Gen Z wanted to make some teasing jokes about our older siblings, they got triggered, brought up the embarrassing childhood incident, Aunt Gen X is yelling at both of us, Millennials are screaming that they never wanted little siblings anyway, and we've both locked ourselves in our rooms and refuse to talk to each other.
And when the next gen after Z grows up, they will ridicule tik-tok dancing and pink hair... This is the way.
I wish the names of generation were not as random as names microsoft versions. I get boomer and millenial, but the rest seems random.
Load More Replies...As a Gen Z I dont ever hear most of these comments. Also I absolutely love Harry Potter and am kinda confused why its being bashed so much by my generation in this thread. I feel like this is more an American thing or a specific group and not worldwide.
I didn't get the impression that it was Harry Potter being bashed so much as people doing the 'I'm a hufflepuff' thing. The 'take the Hogwarts House out of your Twitter bio' comment.
Load More Replies...I'm a boomer and have found all of these arguments stupid and irritating. The worst is from people of my own generation being absolutely clueless about the changes in the U.S. due to government abandoning its responsibility to the public good in favor of crass capitalism, and complaining about things like why can't people live on minimum wage when it's literally 1/3 what it was in the 1960's in real money terms. But also thinking that people in different stages of life will always be like they are now is just being willfully ignorant...The Millenials aren't buying yachts and diamonds and killing those industries! The Gen Zs are all working fast food and worrying about the expense of education and that's all they will ever do until they die of old age! The Gen Woodlidoo are all obsessed with glamming their nails and Legos and always will be!! The Gen K-X-1121 can't lift their heads or digest anything except mommy's milk or commercial formula and will kill the restaurant industry! C'mon
Interesting to see a generation that preaches inclusivity being bullies and essentially NOT inclusive.
This was a weird post, just let people live their lives, and that goes for everyone, Gen z or millennial. Yes, both generations have annoying traits but that shouldn't stop us from getting along. Also, I kinda hated this post, the comments were just millennials and gen z's arguing and insulting each other. I thought BP was supposed to be a place with no bullying but lately, they've just been pitting people against each other.
I was first called a Millennial in 2002. I remember because it was hurled at my like a slur because I told a career councilor I wanted to have diverse skills to increase my marketability. "Oh you just don't want to commit because you are a millennial.... cool, I graduated undergrad into a recession and had to work three part time jobs.
Wait, I’m not supposed to have a side part anymore?! But one of my eyebrows is a bit higher than the other and the side part makes it less obvious, otherwise I look 🤨 all the time! Whatever, I actually feel like emoji most of the time anyway, so maybe I’ll let it show. It’s gunna be lit, fam.
You have royal company - look at a few photos of the Duchess of Cambridge. Her left goes up at the end more than her right. Anyway, nothing wrong with looking quizzical!

I think the rivalry started well before us. I remember my Grandfather talking about why he retired from teaching at 56. He said it was because he wanted to get out of the profession because all the ''touchy feely baby boomers'' were taking over.
Ahhhh gen z bringing the "emo" back but calling it something different
I am rather grateful that I never feeled like belonging to a "generation", however that generation might be called. Living without generic stereotypes to fullfil and generalized expectation about people of a certrain age surely makes matters much easier.
The beauty of our time is that we get to chose and mix. I chose seventies jeans, 80ies Rock and 90ies an 00?? films.
Load More Replies...How dare they!? Surely millennials are the first adult generation to get disrespected by kids.
Oh when genZ becomes of our age... we'll se who will have the last laugh.
I think its hilarious how many of these are internet related yet its coming from a generation of people who think "influencer" "youtube streamer" are valid life goals... Either way, i'll take my martini drinking, non HP loving, legging wearing millennial self all day. Ive hung with some youngins & they got nothing on us old school club kids! Lol!
I'm so glad I'm not part of this vacuous, shallow world. It is fortunate that I grew up in the 80s and 90s before all this crap started happening.
Got a good laugh out of this post. Ridiculous. I had to look up the year-range of the different generations. So~ the oldest of "us" are ~44y/o and the youngest ~26y/o? The oldest "millenials" had their teenage years within the 80/90th. The youngest after 2000. So, apparently I'm a millenial(*86) so is my cousin(*77) = 9 years between us. Completely different upbringing. Completely different experimence. I wouldn't be able to find anything to compare us, even if I wanted. And pls explain the difference between wearing skinny jeans vs wearing _just_ leggins. Both looks are weird to me.
