I also cannot live without my cup of tea in the morning! With cream. Oh, but I'm in California. There are too many people in these huge countries for this kind of thing. I can't tell you how many times I've stared out the window at the snow coming down while I read about how there is no snow in Southern California. You'd think we all lived on the coast or something. I've traveled this entire country, expect Alaska (someday, Alaska!), as well as several countries and we are far more similar than most of the people writing these would like to believe.

I knew there would be these kinds of comments here! The thing is, because of their dominance, every country in the world knows stuff about the USA, but not everyone would relate to things about Chile or somewhere.

Where do you live that this is happening? What songs do you sing about the US?? I find stories like this so fascinating. I went to a Christian elementary school. We were too busy singing songs about God's greatness to bother with songs about US greatness.

We had to do that too. Luckily, my mom was from Canada and filled me in on how much America sucked

Super Bowl happens on a Sunday so the only business I know of that are closed on that day are the ones that usually are anyways. Also the Super Bowl is a big deal because it's basically people getting together to watch the commercials and the halftime show. Even people who are not football fans go to the parties, eat the food, and have a good time.

Yes it is. The super bowl is the one thing that unites all americans. Also the Baseball World Cup. We take sports very seriously.

Why not? Can't anything be a holiday if you make one?

As a fellow American, why not work at making this a country you can be happy to live in? These last 4 years have been HORRIBLE, but we do have so much potential to make our country better. Please do not give up take what we have and make it better.

Heads up, many of us said the same thing around your age only to find out later it wasn't as easy as picking up and moving away. If you are absolutely certain and serious about it, I'd start looking into abroad programs for students and such sooner than later and keep up on the border issues even post Covid. And for sure start saving now.

Hi Lesbean, Non-American here! I don't posts like these because they perpetuate stereotypes and make it sound like all of America thinks this way. I understand the last four years in the U.S. have been extremely difficult for so many, but I'm glad to see so many young people working to foster change and am overjoyed that you have a new president who is against hatred and division. Even thought it may not seem this way, please realise that every single country in the world has its own problems and quirks. For example, in the United Kingdom (where I'm from) we still struggle with problems ranging from poverty and racism to something called "Brexit" (twithdrawal of the U.K. from the European Union). The grass may seem greener, but there will always be problems where ever you go. Hopefully, you will get to travel and even possibly live abroad in the future! From someone who has lived abroad, living in a different country really opens your eyes.

I always said the place I was brought up, gave me one thing... a passion for travel. I grew to appreciate it more as I got older (after much travel). The world around you can feel very small at 13 but it does get bigger, even your own town and country. Keep your passion for travel, it an amazing thing to have.

I hope you will stick around, vote and encourage positive change. But if you don't, I hope you find a place more to your liking. I would recommend finding a college with a really good study abroad program.
