I just returned home to California after completing a fun photography project in Europe.
I took 13 scanned old photos of me from 30 years ago and went to see if I could find the same exact locations to take photos of what I look like now. I hope to return again in another thirty years!
To see the entire Then and Now photos go to my video on Youtube.

Thirty Years Later In Strasbourg, France
I like this one , and how you can see the difference in the tree in the back ground.

Always glad to see a place looks greener (more vegetation/trees) than 30 years ago. The opposite is happening in my city :(

Yes! This is Schlangenweg (Snakes Way) which leads up to Philosophenweg (Philosophers Way). I loved hiking these trails when I was a student thirty years ago.

It's amazing how 30 years later the locations are basically identical to the past, preserving the original architecture and respecting urbanism criteria... In my country, in the 30 years later pics (and next to the beautiful sights and nice biuldings) there would be department buildings, fast food chains, pollution, whole less trees, advertising signs, something on fire and probably people clashing with the police :(
Yeah but these are "touristy" spots :) I dare say if you went a few miles out of town you would see the difference 30 years makes!
Load More Replies...It's pretty neat how the locations are timeless and haven't changed over the years. The differences are the vehicles and clothes. Other locations might be taken over by skyscrapers or Walmarts.
I think this was a really cool idea. It was really interesting to see, thank you for posting.
Maybe it’s just my personal prference, but you look 30 times prettier now.
So cool! The artist is even more beautiful and insightful 30 years later. I hope to be able to see your next 30-year installment -- I'll be 101 years young!
This is so cool! I made pics like these of my mom in Prague, also 30 years difference :D
There's an app for that: Kronicle (free on the App Store) let's you retake old photos from the same spot in the present. Check it out!
Hi Lisa, I love this idea. My name is Francesca Street and I'm a journalist at CNN Travel. We would love to interview you about your photography project. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in? You can contact me on here. Thank you.
I love how the areas haven't really changed much, here, in Vancouver Canada, it would be gone and replaced with condo's
