Sort of like the deep sea, the internet has layers to it. Most of the time, we are on the surface, or maybe a few feet deep, where things are familiar enough to navigate. But, like those videos from the depths of the ocean, every once in a while, something a bit more strange pops up to the surface.
The “Weird Side Of The Internet” Facebook page is dedicated to documenting those weird and unusual images and posts online. We got in touch with the page’s admins to learn more. So get comfortable as you scroll through, upvote your favorite images, and be sure to comment your thoughts below.

Bored Panda got in touch with the team behind the “Weird Side Of The Internet” and they were kind enough to answer some of our questions. We wanted to know what event prompted them to make the page in the first place. “The birth of our page carries a fascinating story. We launched the initiative on Facebook in September 2015 with the idea of gathering the most curious and eccentric content from the web, often devoid of additional information beyond the material itself.”
“The inspiration for the Italian name "La Parte Strana dell'Internet" (The Weird Side of the Internet) came from "The Weird Side Of Youtube". This was a sort of virtual journey that led users to explore a series of suggested videos, ultimately discovering unexpected content often relegated to the darkest corners of Youtube.”
“This unusual journey offered a vision of videos far from the mainstream, and you would often stumble upon quite unusual experiments. From this philosophy, "La Parte Strana dell'Internet" was born. Our goal was to collect and disseminate content that, although it appeared strange and out of the ordinary, possessed an undeniable charm. The idea was to share this peculiar aspect of the internet with a community, giving life to an entirely new experience, and it is still our mission today.”
I only wish I was that cool! The truth is that I kept quarantining after everything opened back up. Not because I'm worried about the virus - I'm just antisocial. :)
Oh wow, just realized I'm in the same slowly sinking boat as you Victoria 😳😩
Load More Replies...Imagine there would have been a vaccine that could help you not even noticing you got it because your kmmune system would have been able to fight the virus before it can even infect you. Crazy thought i know. But with that it would have been wild.
Everyone I know who caught it has been vaccinated. All of them got sick, not bad, but enough to know they were sick, test for it and get confirmation. None of them were worse than a bad cold but they all still felt sick. I have managed to dodge it so far but I am antisocial too. It's possible I have caught it and because of vaccine (or luck) had zero symptoms but I'd expect to have felt at least a bit off (the vaccine itself made me feel sick for about 36 hours).
Load More Replies...Summer 2023. Finally got it. Thought I slipped past but oh no..
Load More Replies...Got it for the first time 3 weeks ago. I'm fully vaxed and got paxlovid, so it wasn't a big thing, but I lost my record!
Five shots, two full years of wearing a mask, worked as a bartender, a waiter, and bar manager, still wearing a mask when I get on a plane....no covid...yet. 🤞🏽
I didn't had covid, all my family got it and I was the only who went out to work, went to a few reunions with my friends, etc. Am I immune or covid has standards?
About 1 in 3 people don't get any symptoms when they have Covid. So unless you have been tested very regularly, it is most likely that you were infected at some point but were asymptomatic.
Load More Replies...Lol I say I’ve never gotten it but honestly I probably did and my dad just told me to suck it up and go to school anyway because I’m not dying 🥲
Hey, this is actually me! I’ve never gotten any form of COVID, even during the period when *all four of my housemates had it at once!* My immune system is turned up to eleven due to Lupus. It’s even crazier because I’m on some *really* scary medications trying to suppress it, but getting nowhere fast. At least having an autoimmune disease has a benefit! 😂🙄
My parents caught it and despite living together I never caught it, I got some temporary immunity against it
Still haven't my wife and son get it twice a year my daughter and I dont
Only twice - and both times, it came from being in a crowded room and close contact. (Once from my mom's funeral, the next time from a play.) Not a vaccine in sight.
With the asymptomatic, who knows if someone a really hard or not. I've tested negative but knew I had it a number of times. Just low viral load, I just feel symptoms strong
Somehow, despite working through as an essential worker, living with 2 tinfoil hat - wearing adults, and having several coworkers & my parents getting it (despite the vaccines & boosters), my niece & I never got sick. Personally, I attribute it to an amazing immune system I strenghten by doing silly things like not using antibacterial everything, not rinsing off my produce before eating, ingesting potentially spoiled/moldy food (not on purpose), etc.
Never went through quarantine and spent most of my working time in close proximity to Covid in our ICU (as a cleaner). Haven't had it yet but I put that down to good PPE, strict work procedures, vaccine and taking great care out in public.
This is me. I worked all throughout the pandemic, as a lunch lady, a cashier and as a distribution technician. All apparently essential jobs and had to wear a mask all the time. Never once got sick.
I haven't caught it at all but, I loved quarantine so much that I've stayed in it.
I'm nowhere near as cool as this. I'm just convinced it was the vodka and permanent bacterial colony in my sinuses that kept it away (I get chronic sinus infections). Though you could say I waged chemical and biological warfare against covid (that sounds kinda cool)
Me! And I work in a pharmacy! To be fair, I did vaccinate.
My husband and I never got it. And while we do work from home we did not isolate. I went to our business summer party last year, it was a huge rave. Almost everyone from work got COVID afterwards. But not me. I travelled by train several times for long distance, the trains were packed. I can't wear a mask due to severe asthma, no COVID. Well, I am vaccinated so that's that. And I've been vaccinated early due to my asthma, I was on the priority list.
I got COVID and I’m still alive so I’m proud to say that I survived the virus and we’ll definitely be bragging about it in a couple of decades
I literally had COVID a few weeks ago (never got vaccine because mom was not for it) but I'm getting my vaccine soon 😄
Do people not realize lots of people with Covid are asymptomatic? About 1 in 3 people don't experience symptoms when they have Covid. Unless you have been tested very regularly all this time (or have been tested whether you have had Covid in the past, but that's not a common thing to get tested for), you can't know whether you haven't had it or whether you did have it but were simply asymptomatic.
God does indeed play favorites, and it's a white straight man from Alabama. Make of that what you will.
Lol yeah me and my coworkers. We work in a beauty salon, few of our customers had passed away and i have acute asthma but not one of us got covid.
I still don't understand how I didn't catch it. My mum did and I live with her. I went out to pubs because gotta get that beer. I work with kids and teens. I was the one doing 90% of any shopping and in contact with people. Nothing! Fully vaccinated and boosted, and I get 1 cold per year in January for about 3 days, but still, how??
Asymptomatic, perhaps?
Load More Replies...Managed to avoid it for 20 and 21 but I’ve gotten it last year and last month (though I had 0 symptoms last month, but the tests still came out positive)
I thought I was immune to it, everyone in my household had gotten it at different times but I never did, then I tested positive 3 days before I was supposed to go on a school trip to Spain. I couldn't go and didn't get a refund, and spent 5 days miserable as Covid wreaked hell on my body. So be careful everyone. :)
I was just watching one of those Germophobe shows on TLC. One family who has to wash their hands like 80 times a day has not had Covid or even the flu in years.
If I got Covid, it was at the very beginning in November of 2019. I'd just had a flu shot, my boss went to China and came back sick, and I caught something from him that lasted only a week. Since then I've been exposed to Covid multiple times at work from sick coworkers and never caught it. I did just recover from pneumonia recently, however it was bacterial and responded to antibiotics. (Also they tested me at the doctor's and I didn't have Covid.)
I finally caught it last week! Two and a half years working amongst thick crowdings of panicking fleshy obstacles that could not possibly care less about us.
And what exactly do you think that a vaccine encourages your body to produce? And a vaccine will do it in a much safer way than exposing yourself to the real virus.

“The Netherlands flag for some reasons” “Jesus punishes her by making her Dutch.” There, I fixed it!
As explorers of the weirder part of the net, we do have to salute the group behind the page, as most of these posts might simply disappear without proper documentation. But we also were curious to hear how they actually approach the question of what constitutes a “weird” image. After all, things are almost never as subjective as on the internet.
“For us, a "weird" image is something that challenges normal logic or arouses a strong sense of surprise or disbelief, all within the standards of various platforms. It doesn't necessarily have to be something scary or disturbing. It can be something comical, surreal, or even absurd. The main rule we follow is that the image must be able to provoke a strong reaction.”
WE JUST TOOK MY DOG FOR A WALK SHE DID NOT WANT TO COME BACK INSIDE. SHE STARTED YELLING AT US. (shes a husky so that might be part of it.)
Naturally, this leads to the question of what attracts viewers to these sorts of posts. “We believe that the popularity of this type of content stems from its ability to offer a break from daily routine. Our world can often be very predictable and ordinary, so it's refreshing to encounter something completely out of the ordinary. These contents also offer a kind of intellectual challenge, as they often push people to reflect and try to understand what they are looking at.”
The admins left us with a few closing thoughts. “We would like to add that we are very pleased to see how the community appreciates the "weird side". On both our Instagram pages "La Parte Strana dell'Internet" and "The Weird Side of the Internet", a pleasant and collaborative atmosphere has been established. It's often the community itself that researches and finds the authors of viral content, too often shared quickly without citing the source.
“The latter is a very delicate issue that we sometimes struggle to communicate to those who accuse us of freebooting, a practice far from our way of operating, which consists of applying our own logo or signature to others' content, passing it off as our own. Thankfully, most of our fans understand our intent and help us recover information and credits in record time. Thank you all for the support!”
So if this sort of content tickles your fancy, be sure to go and follow them either on Facebook or Instagram. Remember, the internet is huge, with more content being made each day than most of us could consume in a year. Finding the bits of gold in an ocean of data is tiring and often thankless work, so we should all try to appreciate the curators out there who gather these things for us.
I hate to break your brains, but there’s an even older “relic”… Look up Fisher Price castle 1974. >:) That’s the one I grew up with in the ~90s. Loved it, kept it and just gave it to my kid. Surprise, he loves it. ;}
If you're a white guy never stand like that while doing the one between call taxi and call waiter.
Fun fact, there is a saying in Sanskrit: ' Vasudeva Kutumbakan ', which means ' The world is my family. '. Just waiting for a Fast and Furious movie set in India, where someone pulls this line.
