The Simpsons have been around since 1989. During the show’s 34 seasons, we’ve seen some wholesome moments as well as some freakily accurate future predictions (remember their prediction about Donald Trump becoming the President?)
Their plot tackles everything and anything. Social issues, pop culture, politics—you name it. But what makes The Simpsons the best show ever is their genuine, relatable characters from all over Springfield.
The creators of the iconic show originally intended for many of these additional characters to be one-time gags or to fulfill a particular function in the town. However, several of them earned expanded roles and subsequently starred in their own episodes.
We’ve grown so used to these characters in The Simpsons that it makes us wonder—what would real-life Bart Simpson look like? Or how would it be if we saw Homer Simpson in real life?
Artist Milan Jaram took these thoughts seriously and generated an AI Simpsons universe. But there’s a twist. These AI-generated Simpsons have an eerie undertone. They aren’t in the vibrant hues of yellow. Instead, they all seem to have a shadowy gloom over them. It’s like meeting the Simpsons in real life, with all their complexity.
So, scroll on down below to meet the AI Simpsons in their high-tech makeover.

Artist Milan Jaram has created the dark AI-generated Simpsons, where we get to see what a real Bart Simpson or Homer Simpson in real life would look like.
Would you shake their hand if you met them in public? Or run the other way without looking back?

“The idea for this series came to me from trying to be creative with AI, pushing its limits, and seeing what it could do,” Jaram told Bored Panda. “The Simpsons has been around all my life. From the first Christmas episode; we all would huddle around before Christmas and watch it.”
“But if you go to my website, you’ll see some non-AI stuff (traditional art) that also went viral, for example, mixing up things like Muppets as real people.”
“TikTok has just been a venue to share the ideas I’ve gotten from AI.”

What is Used to Animate The Simpsons?
The show primarily uses traditional 2D animation techniques. The animation process involves hand-drawing characters and scenes and then digitizing the animation. The Simpsons is known for its distinctive animation style, characterized by bright yellow colors and exaggerated facial features.
What is the AI-generated Simpsons Stream?
You can find several 3D animated spinoffs of The Simpsons on Twitch that have a huge fan base. There are also numerous AI-generated Simpsons Twitch streams available on YouTube. The AI-generated episodes are presented as short films about Springfield.

Wow, that's a lot of spikes... And not cute/innocent enough

Can Artificial Intelligence Be Creative?
This AI Simpsons series has us wondering. Can AI challenge human creativity?
Artificially generated art has vastly improved since it launched a few years ago. Users have embraced its creative potential after an AI-generated art piece won first prize at the Colorado State Fair in 2022.
The controversy over art versus digital technology is nothing new. Back in the 19th century, a famous French poet Charles Baudelaire called the photography industry “art’s most mortal enemy.” Later, digital editing tools were dismissed by purists for making photos look unnatural.
Now, we have AI tools, such as Midjourney and DALL-E, that have made it possible to generate novel art with just a few text prompts.
But does it mean that anyone can generate vivid visual content, images, or videos with a few lines of text and a click of a button? Looking forward, what will it mean when social media algorithms not only curate content for your feed but generate it, too?
Homer
According to Ph.D. student Rodolfo Ocampo, who specializes in human-AI creative collaboration, “Some speculate that, in the short term, this means human creativity and art are deeply threatened. Perhaps in a world where anyone can generate any images, graphic designers as we know them today will be redundant. However, history shows human creativity always finds a way. The electronic synthesizer did not kill music, and photography did not kill painting. Instead, they catalyzed new art forms.”
So, looks like art is safe from AI. Now, scroll on down below for more eerie photos of AI Simpsons that might make you say Ay Caramba!
Bart
Santa's Little Helper
Krusty The Clown
Krusty has green pointy hear on two sides. And white make up. This is... something, but not Krusty.
Carl
Ralph
Otto
Why the f$&* is Otto in a suit??? And where's his b0ng? Have they ever watched the show?
This one is oddly almost near the mark, at least in features. Must be a mistake from this train wreck of an artist. But no headphones and a suit makes this nonsense of course.
Maybe Otto had to go to court? I really can't picture him in anything but his stoner garb, though.
LOL this looks like my philosophy professor....still a pothead but too professional
Looks anything but like Otto, this started good, pretty bad now
It's all I ever did in high school, but my Old man said I was wasting my time and I'd never amount to anything.
Otto needs to be like the age of person who's a college drop out...can hold a job and does really care. Needs headphones too.
He looks like an actor (can't think of his name) Also, how old is Otto supposed to be?
Barney
Edna Krabappel
Smithers
Looks a little too old, and we have to see the signature hair spike. Nice touch to make the suit look a bit too big, though.
Troy McClure
Chief Wiggum
Lenny
Dr. Hibbert
As weird as I feel saying this, he doesn't look black enough... More like a tanned white guy. The chin doesn't help - Hibbert is rounded but not doughy

These all look absolutely awful. I mean they're ok looking but as compared to the characters they're supposed to be I give them a 1 out of 10
Load More Replies...We'll, barny is clearly sobor right now so I guess something had to pick up the habit
Load More Replies...Considering it was made by an AI who has no idea who these characters are, I think it's okay. Weird and creepy, but okay. Wouldn't be too harsh on a simple program making faces from gathered data.
I agree. This is a computer program not an actual person, so it would be expected that there are some minor issues.
Load More Replies...Can someone explain to me what these "artists" are doing exactly when they use AI? Are they developing the software that leads to this outcome or are they using commercial software that already exists? Are they programming or clicking a few buttons? I am not being derogatory I am just not getting it
No, they are not developing or programming, they give some variables to the existing program and use the result. In many instances they do not even have the program but use a service like Midjourney where you pay after the first few results, but you get a very powerful image ai. There's no real skill involved other than thinking off the description the computer program uses. And, ideally, to pick the best results but the "artist" in this case did not even bother to do that judging from the awful examples here.
Load More Replies...This is godawful, AI is a tool not a holy truth. If it looks c**p you throw it away, I cannot believe this guy was delusional enough to publish these failures, and I seriously question Rokas Laurinavičius' standards that he thought this was fit for Bored Panda. Or any kind of attention.
Horrible, horrible work! It looks like the artist knows nothing about the caracters of The Simpsons
A lot of these are way off the mark. I've seen some amazing stuff from AI. This isn't it.
I hate saying this about someone's art, but these absolutely suck. I def. Feel like I just wasted 10 minutes of my life. Try again or maybe try a different art form, because this didn't just miss the mark, you're not even in the same vicinity as the mark.
None of them look like the real person. I know this probably took forever to make but they just don’t look good even for an AI.
I'm a cynical old f****r...... I wanna see the 'artists' very own unaided work alongside all this guff about using AI (someone else's talent) to show a 'different' or reimagined scene. Knock a few out first in chalk, crayon, oils etc first....... and then post those alongside of whatever the ai came up with too.
Santa's little helper is a Greyhound. That's no Greyhound. Having said that cute dog anyway.
I would like to remind everyone who is criticizing these that this is an AI. Parts of characters that you see as important, the AI doesn't. Its job is to recreate the face as realistically as possible. The fact that it's able to create a recognizable face at all is amazing.
part of it is that a lot of these characters just aren't supposed to be realistic, like you're not supposed to think of them looking real, they're meant to be cartoonish. second most look way too old, distorted, and like most I couldn't even tell that was who they were. they honestly look nothing close to the characters and I know it's ai and I shouldn't be so critical but like lord
WHEN I SEE THEM I JUST SHUT MY COMPUTOR AND GET BACK ON SOMETHING ELSE
Homer looks like a pissed power lifter not a hapless overweight buffoon.
it is what it is not but a start to trending puzzle @Simpsons🐯 💛💙🤎 other✨ 🖤💚🧡❤️🤍
This was garbage. Lisa looked like a female version of Bart. Homer was way to muscular. The rest weren't even close. Maybe in another dimension.
Is this the Simpsons of Gotham? All too grimy and sinister, all inaccurate. Even SLH is the wrong breed! That's a no from me.
I'll grant that some of the king of the hill look good but the rest of the Flinstones, Simpsons don't look really anything like them.
I'm now convinced this "artist" has never once actually seen this or any of the other shows. Holy $hit.
Me too. When they look like the characters. These don't. Nice try by the artist but a true fail.
