For a long time Ive been meaning to do a photo with my younger son who’s 2. Finally I said, ill do it. Went to my studio to discover that the wireless trigger wasn’t working and my rubbish tripod was missing the bit to attach the camera to it. I almost quit but was decided. No make up, no hair done, just a dress and my son to cover my imperfections. I positioned the camera on top of some books and we put the timer. We had to press and run to the right spot. After the second try he said it was his turn, so he was in charge of pressing the trigger. So technically he did the photo or it was me?

Well I edited it and loved it, send it to the family chat just before going to bed and I get the reply is; “can you improve it?” . That what family is for no? So the next day a lot of what’s up conversations went back and forward. My point being the photo the photo should have generated another sort of response, and if the urge to become an art critic was so strong, it would have been nice to get some constructive criticism, but this family member insisted I took it too personally, and that the intention was being helpful.

I guess I won’t be sending many photos to the family group in the near future.
