What Dreams May Come wasn't on there? That's like the ultimate ugly cry inducing movie >v<
Oh man, I saw that in the theatre with my mom and younger brother. It was so hard not to sob.
Load More Replies..."Into The Wild" isn't sad. It's about hubris, pride, obliviousness, and being completely unprepared.
Yeah, definitely..... well, I'm Australian, so bit close to home.....
Load More Replies...The one heartbreaking film I'll seriously never be able to re-watch is Sophie's choice. 💔😭😭😭
Schindler's list was the worst, especially knowing that it was a true story.
I can't watch Grave of the Fireflies again. It is hard to choose between this one and Schindler's List, but I had to go with the one which had me in tears. Grave Of the Fireflies is so personal watching individual children starve to death...
Grave of the fireflies truly is a very sad movie, but while it is a possible story, it still is just fiction. On the other hand Schindler's List is a sad movie just because it is a true story full of pain and sorrow.
Edward G Robinson was dying of cancer when he filmed Soylent Green. His death scene in the movie was his last, Charlton Heston's crying was real. He past away 84 days later. The other side of the coin to Schindler's List
Load More Replies...Sophie's Choice was my #1. Is that one well known? This quiz was just asking what your favorite torture method is.
The Deer Hunter, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest… I went with Sophie’s Choice though, given the options.
A lot of the older movies are missing, probably too far back to remember or didn't make it to streaming. I'll add to your list Who will love my children, Beaches and for a tear jerker the end to the The Champ(and I am not a fan of boxing). I love both of your choices but find One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest really difficult to call a sad film because I just felt so emotionally drained, I know it was fiction but I lost a lot of my faith in humanity by the end of it. I still feel sickened, anger and hate for her, little wonder Louise Fletcher won an Oscar for the role

It all depends on your age. Movies that are great but played to death lose impact over time. Also, how old you are and how old the protagonists are in the film affects how deeply you can empathize with the characters. Sometimes a younger person doesn't comprehend how tragic a character's situation is but an older person with more life experiences might have a greater depth of feeling for the character's plight.
Couldn't answer because I have never even heard of some of them, let alone seen them.
I’m looking at something to watch on TV and The Green Mile is on. No thank you that is too sad. So is The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. How they even put Up and Titanic next to them is crazy.
Anyone who didn't pick Schindler's list please put up your hand so we could identify you.
I picked Sophie’s Choice… So the same kind of subject matter I guess.
Load More Replies...I haven't seen most of these so I selected the one I've seen over the one I haven't but if I haven't seen either I picked the one on the left.
It's Up and I don't care. First few minutes are just an awful gut punch. I cannot listen to that music with crying. And for me, I go with the theory that it's all in Carl's head as he's processing his grief. By far makes the most sense out of the movie, but also makes it incredibly depressing. Carl didn't have his adventure, he's just dreaming about it while sitting in a nursing home.
This is hilarious to me. Of the ... 20 or whatever movies in here I've seen like 5 of them, and 3 of those I didn't find particularly sad. Turned out at the end it was a toss up between Bambi and Million Dollar Baby. :D
Fail for me. Most of them I haven't even watched. Black Beauty (with Sean Bean) should have been on there.
