The Postmortem Puppetry Of Mothmeister, Bringing Dead Animals Back To Live.
Similar to the Victorian era when dead dear loved ones were photographed as a memento mori for the relatives, Mothmeister immortalizes animals in a weird and wonderful fairytale world.
By creating two fully functioning glove puppets with their friend and multitalented taxidermist Viktor Leestmans, Mothmeister takes this ‘reincarnation’ to another magical level.
Meet Wewenut, the luxuriously dressed up bunny glove puppet. And Khnum, the quirky harlequin lamb glove puppet. The first two puppets of a series, both showcased on an antique wooden stand with engraved Mothmeister label.
A nod to the eccentric Victorian taxidermist Walter Potter, known for his anthropomorphic dioramas featuring dressed up dead animals mimicking human life.
