This piece of paradise is quiet and peaceful for nearly 50 years, But this region gone through many conflicts and wars which left many scars on it’s surface. You can see this on every mountain and valley. Alongside springs, cliffs, dormant volcanoes, waterfalls and endless green fields there are also firing areas, minefields ,military posts and barbed wire fences.
I always like to travel this area, to take a car, bike or go on foot and find some new amazing places. In the end of every road there is a spring, nice village or just a beautiful view spot. so much to see in such a small area.
You can almost forget that you are in the middle of the middle east but then you hear the sounds of the bombs from the other side of the border, the Syrian civil war is only few miles away.
In these pictures I show the area from my perspective, as a soldier, traveler and resident of this wonderful region and brings the conflict between the beautiful and the dark side of the area
