Modern Dating Written In The Style Of Medieval Elegance Results In A Hilarious Comic
Interview With ArtistWhat if situationships were also a thing of the past, like in medieval times? Would there be scrolls for sharing tips and tricks?
Well, while we imagine what it could look like, this genius artist, Clarice Tudor, has blended the opposing ideas of medieval elegance and modern humor into a hilarious comic. “The Fart: A True Tale” is sort of a manuscript teaching how to lose a guy in 3 steps. What actually will work with no doubt is already hinted at in the name, but we are sure you would not want to miss other steps as well as they are just as hilariously accurate.

Bored Panda reached out to Clarice, who told us more about herself and her background.
“I’m a British comic artist and cartoonist currently based in Cardiff. I graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in Art and Design. I do two things. I draw and I cook. They said hey Clarice you need a hobby and unfortunately I have to eat to survive so I thought ok I’ll do that. Two birds, one stone, baby! I’m a working-class, broke bisexual and your favorite insufferable, raging feminist,” shared Clarice.

We were wondering what initially drew Clarice to the world of cartooning and artistry. She shared: “I essentially make memes, but now I hand-draw them, and someone pays me. It’s a flawless business plan, AND I get to use my art degree at the same time? They said it couldn’t be done!”

Clarice is known for her pink rabbit comics, but she also told us more about her Medieval series: “Lately, I’ve been taking inspiration from dramatic yet goofy medieval art. Tapestries, illuminated manuscripts, stained glass, you name it! I recently illustrated the true story of a fart I did that was so bad my situationship ended.”

“I’ve been inundated with requests for more, so I’m expanding the series. More embarrassing moments, bad dating tales, and even worse advice. Why medieval? It’s just the perfect way to illustrate my experience. The visual comedy of a guy nonchalantly getting an axe to the head? The cats with harrowingly human faces? That describes exactly how I’m feeling! Not to mention medieval fashion serves, and I’m so ready for it to come back in.
If you liked The Fart, follow along, because there’s plenty more where that came from!”
