The Face Of Refugees: We Cropped Out The Context Of A Refugee Camp To Focus On Individuals And The Results Are Breathtaking

These photographs were taken in the Souda Refugee Camp in Chios, Greece. We intentionally cropped out the background of the harsh camp conditions in each photo to focus on the individuals, not their label as merely “refugee”. Refugees are not faceless statistics, they are men, women, children each with their own hopes for a better life in a kinder world. These individuals matter.
