This Couple Builds A Mini Pub In A Garden, Stuns People With Its Handmade Interior
Lockdown has forced many pub lovers out there to source other forms of entertainment. Some have decided to do bar crawls at home, while others have used Zoom calls to have a drink with their buddies. There are also those who have decided to forgo drinking at all and picked up new hobbies. However, the most creative solution came to the Crabs family, who realized they needed to get a pub built in their garden.
After consulting with Amy, who is the mastermind behind Octavia Chic, and her husband, plans to create a garden pub were made. It took around three weeks for Amy and her husband to complete this project and the result took people’s breath away. Once the finished project appeared on the Octavia Chic Facebook page, it quickly went viral.

Share on FacebookThat is seriously impressive! And to think I was so proud of myself for hanging new lights around the deck to create better ambiance!
You have every reason to be proud of yourself too. I bet your deck looks great.
Load More Replies...Great for social distancing too. Just you and the bartender, lol.
Load More Replies...I thought you said holy cozy and I thought it was great.
Load More Replies...I always wondered what I would do if I won VERY much money. Now I know. My pub would include a few bookshelves though
Horrible design.. absolutely impossible to maintain social distancing in that setup! Therefore, I suggest that they just let me use it alone aaaand I will bring a good book
This place looks cozy and welcoming. My kids last name is Crabb, so I find the name of this place amusing.
I think the most important question is: will a drunk crab walk straight?
this question has been sitting with me for a day now it's caused me to think of the mysteries of the universe
Load More Replies...Perfect and cozy. How much better than a man cave or she shed. This is a place for the entire family.
Amazing results. This pub reminds me of a pub in Hamilton, Bermuda I visited every time I flew in on business. Watch this epic backyard mini pub start a trend.
Already a UK trend...even before Covid 19. There is a shed of the year pub competition that can be entered.
Load More Replies...I think they added pictures because now one shows a dart board.
Load More Replies...That interior is stunning! Also, “The Drunken Crab” is the best pub name I have ever heard!
Wow!, I'm so jealous! what a fantastic little pub, the interior is an absolute gem. Like J.B. I think if I had this in my back garden I'd never leave or even think of going to any other pub! Love the name too.
Great looking Pub! A bit of advice. It looks as if the stringers for the floor are standard non-pressure treated 2xs. Unfortunately those will rot out quickly as water penetrates them. The Pub will have to be raised and set on concrete pavers. The rain from the house needs to be diverted away from the Pub.
It's on what appear to be concrete blocks so water should drain right down. Perhaps that was the logic there.
Load More Replies...That is just perfect. A nice place to play a couple of acoustic guitars too - though it wouldn't be sound-proof. Excellent job - mine's a pint.
You took everything folks love about bars and kicked it up a notch.
I love it! When the lock down is over and people can visit, this will be so great!
Wow. Old Speckled Hen on draft. My seriously favoritest libation ever. Cannot be had in a major metropolitan backwater like Albuquerque, New Mexico. Sigh.
I love “major metropolitan backwater”...the perfect oxymoron! Now I want to visit Albuquerque.
Load More Replies...It is stunning!!!!! I need to make an appointment, what's the address?
Did this build require building permits? Looks amazing!
I want to know if there are real ale kegs under those engine handles. I think I see the wands. That would be the kicker for me.

This is truly a fab dream. I used to have it bad for dollhouses and the delightful interiors. This would be a second love, but with wishes to bring it to life for all admirers.
I was thinking of doing something similar what are the dimensions just out of interest
Really amazing work! I have one quibble though. The spirits were all totally bog standard. Smirnoff, JD, Southern Comfort, Bacardi. You’d think after all the time and money they put into this place, they could bump up the quality on their booze selection.
Love isn't strong enough to describe my admiration for this beautifully designed Crab Pub. It can't be surpassed in my opinion!
Fantastic! I wish I could sit in the pub right now with a Guinness. The trouble is, I'm in Canada! Just wishing'. Harry.
Does anyone actually sit at that table under the dartboard ? Very, very brave souls ! :-)
Stunning -- perfect in every detail! "Children and Dogs Welcome," in the great tradition of British pubs.
That is the most beautiful pub I have ever seen. It was obviously made with much skill and love! Enjoy it in good health. <3
It looks to be 10'x10' or 3 meter square. My "little house" is this size, but still under development (and no loo!)
Load More Replies...I'd have this is my garden, I world definitely open it for neighbors after work. I'd find it a pity to have only me and my wife using it, it's so nice! Well, I guess if you open it to others, you'd need to worry about licenses etc ...
Only if you sell. If they leave money in a beer fund then it’s not really selling.
Load More Replies...Damn! You gotta be careful or there will be a crowd of drunk Scotsmen infesting a corner of that pub!
The only thing that could have made it better is if the Crabtrees could have built the Drunken Crab as a treehouse.
I’d love to know the measurements of this shed. Anyone know and want to share?
It doesn't appear easy to find. Sorry, I tried. If it is any consolation you could do this with any well constructed shed or plan the outbuilding from scratch to your own design. There are online shed building tools to help. I've built my own summerhouse and various outbuildings and it isn't complicated. It was more expensive than buying a shed because I used much better quality materials. Motor bike store cost several hundred pounds for example. Can find lots of ideas if you look at Shed Pub of the year online.
Load More Replies...One person on site at a time is allowed. To all intents and purposes it is a glorified shed (size, location and other rules need to be followed but aren't broken here) so no need for building control under UK regulations. Even if it did need to be checked by Building Control it only needs one official to come and check the site. Social distancing all completely possible.
Load More Replies...Nope...they got it done in 3 weeks, my money’s on cocaine. 😂
