OK, folks, you might want to keep your GPS on while scrolling through this one because we're heading into the land of 'Terrible Maps.'

It's a bumpy ride, full of wrong coordinates and not-very-helpful legends, however, the unexpected twists and turns are what make it so memorable.

This fun online project, dedicated to geographically incorrect entertainment, features such gems as 'The World According To Fish' and 'What Pedestrian [Signs] Look Like Across Europe.'

Even though its content might not get you from point A to point B, the pictures can, in fact, teach you something and put a smile on your face.

Sure, silly maps can be really amusing, but with the growing importance of issues such as climate change, migration, environmental degradation, spatial epidemiology, and inequalities, you could say that geography has become one of the most relevant subjects you can study.

The UK's Royal Geographical Society, for example, is certain that geography helps us to explore and understand space and place, recognizing the great differences in cultures, political systems, economies, landscapes, and environments across the world, and exploring the links between them.

"Geography also provides an ideal framework for connecting and bringing together other fields of knowledge," the organization wrote on its website.

"Geography is, in the broadest sense, an education for life and for living. Learning through geography – whether gained through formal learning or experientially through travel, fieldwork, and expeditions – helps us all to be more socially and environmentally sensitive, better informed, and more responsible as citizens and employees."

And while you could argue that these folks are biased, geography students can back up their words; they find their courses enjoyable and interesting.

The 2020 National Student Survey, which is completed by final-year students in every UK university, revealed that 88% of the respondents studying geography were satisfied with the overall quality of their course; higher than the 83% national average for all respondents.

aww you think that is the most odd name in New York? (not using any Native American based names that Europeans butchered the pronunciation of like Ronkonkoma) we have Butternut, Big Flats, Calcium, Never Sink (I have been to Never Sink, there is a reservoir there also called Never Sink), Triangle, Throop, Friendship, Ausable Chasm, Cumminsville, Feura Bush, Sugarbush, etc. And of course we have Coxsackie, the town the scientific name for Foot in Mouth disease is named after. While a native american name, today the name has a very different meaning.

This is an extremely personal judgment. Pennsylvania not only has a town named Coupon, but towns named Bird-in-Hand, Blue Ball, and of course, Intercourse. Oh, and Noodle Doosie. Which I think should win hands-down.

I grew up in PA. Where is Noodle Doosie? There’s also Paradise, Lititz (if you don’t know how to pronounce it), Normalville, Panic, and Desire.

"Little Canada" for Minnesota? When you have Climax, Fertile, Ball Club, Zerkel, Sleepy Eye, Zim, whatever an Erskine is? That's just top of my head. I dare you to say "Mahtomedi". You can't. If you're not from here, it's impossible. However you think we say it, you're wrong. Say "Bugonaygeshig" Try that one on. Little Canada? That's about as normal as you can get.
