Darwin was a genius, but he also has serious mental health issues. His home life was quite tragic and unfortunately medical science was extremely primitive. Today he would probably be diagnosed with anxiety and depression, but at the time he was prescribed cold water therapy. Where he was subjected to buckets of ice cold water being poured over him to "cure" him.

He needed a duvet day (and some decent mental health support because the poor chap was plagued with depression and anxiety for years)

He has my sympathy. Life was not easy for him. He suffered many physical illnesses. Not to mention personal tragedy seeing two children die in infancy and another at age 10. It is said his work "On the Origin of Species" is the last groundbreaking scientific work interested people in general are able to read and understand.
