18 Of The Most Magnificent Table Designs Ever

A table is probably the most simplistic piece of furniture that we just cannot live without. Plain wooden board with four legs has so many uses that we have one specifically designed for the office, kitchen, dining room, a shop, and even for a hospital operating room. And you’ve probably never thought about it, but tables can be turned into astounding works of art and not just utilitarian pieces of furniture.

Here at Bored Panda, we can’t get over the fact that creative designers are still able to find ingenious new ways to turn table design into works of art. You’d think there’s only so many different ways to reinvent a board with four legs, but these 18 examples of brilliant and cool design will prove you wrong, and a simple coffee table decor won’t cut it to this list.

What makes these tables so remarkable is their effortless fusion of function and unique design. Each is a piece of art meant to be used, not just admired. From majestic wood log dinner tables and picnic kitchen tables to ghost coffee tables, the ways to re-invent this household property are uncountable.

If you’re looking for interior design inspiration, be sure to also check out our chair design and kids’ room design posts!

Wow, this article is amazing. Wood based designs will always be a passion of mine. Especially wooden tables. We have a few wooden table scattered around our house as carpentry runs in my family. My pap is constantly making tables! As I'm a teacher and have 6 weeks holiday now to get through, I wanted to get creative and start building something of my own with my dad. I actually found some good, quality Timber Hoarding wood from a local company and I've built my very table for the garden. It's only tiny but it's perfect for a glass of wine to go on. I know that this type of Timber wood is typically used on construction sites, but I wanted to try my hand at doing something out of the ordinary. This article has definitely given me the inspiration to start another project with my husband. Maybe a deckchair for the beach? I'd love to see more of these inspirational ideas.

I am amazed at these creations and can't imagine ever placing a bowl of mac and cheese on one. Pure art.

The log table, seems a bit impractical. At 6' 6" tall, I'm afraid the limited "knee room" would be troublesome. The rest are cool.

These are amazing & creative. Also without a doubt, very expensive. I wonder if these are unique Canadian designs? If so, I'm impressed.

Naturally, (pun intended) I like the wood log and the glass river tables best, but they are all very unique, beautiful, and creative.

they were all very impressive except the last one the "lake table" by David Gill, the detritus on it undermines it.

I wouldn't mind having the jet engine table. Probably wouldn't fit in my living room, though.

Most of these are amazing, but the "citrine" ones are actually simple amethyst which has been artificially heated to become orange.

You should see the tables my son designed and built for the Jungle Cafe in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY. They could be added to your list.

Las mesas de piedra y de tronco de madera, me parecen cadáveres, fósiles expuestos, las encuentro de mal gusto. La mejor es la mesa-turbina.
