My mom and dad went to see this when it came out in the theater in 1973. My dad was brought up very Catholic, my mom too but not rigid, my mom said he made it to the part where regan walks up the steps upside down and backwards. He started to cry threw up and ran out of the theater. I'm an atheist now and this movie still tests my deeply ingrained Catholic fear and guilt.
