40 Funny And Wholesome Posts About Customer Behavior Shared In This Online Group Dedicated To Subway (New Pics)
Not all heroes wear capes, and no one exemplifies this more than the brave souls at your local fast-food joint. The job itself is basically a blessing and a curse where employees try to navigate the complex world of customer service with a cheerful smile. There are the long hours, low pay, and lazy management that make it a tough and thankless experience. But at the same time, wholesome colleagues and side-splitting "special instructions" customers add to their orders work as the perfect mood booster workers didn't know they needed.
There’s not a dull day in the life of a fast-food worker, and people who proudly wear their green and yellow t-shirts know this from personal experience. We’re talking about Subway employees who work hard to provide you with a portion of the good stuff and should get the respect they most definitely deserve.
So today, we’re diving deep into the aspects of a sandwich artist's life, the good and the bad, courtesy of the 'Subway' subreddit. Although the community seems to be still growing, it provides a safe space for people to talk, share, love (and hate!) everything to do with the sandwich palace. We've gathered some of the best posts from the group, so continue scrolling to check them all out! Be sure to upvote your favorites and let us know what you think in the comments.

Yet for all your loyalty and hard work, your employer still thinks you're expendable.
As the moderators state in the community description, the 'Subway' online group is dedicated to customers and employees of Subway, the sandwich chain. "Looking to talk about subway trains?" they ask, "You probably want r/subways", illustrating just how often Redditors mix the two forums together.
With over 26k members aka sandwich artists following the community, the group seems to be still growing. However, it already has some clear guidelines for fellow Subway enthusiasts to consider before sharing something with others. For example, posts must be strictly Subway-related, and spam is not tolerated. Redditors should also avoid revealing identifiable information, "that includes posting addresses, store numbers, or telephone numbers."
Thankfully, Subway-related memes are allowed — as long as they follow other rules. "Minimal effort, spam, and off-topic memes may be removed," the mods added.

For our earlier piece on strange fast food orders that drive employees mad, we reached out to the team looking after the subreddit. One moderator, who preferred to stay anonymous, was more than happy to share their thoughts about the group.
Unfortunately, the origin of the group seems to remain a mystery. When we asked about the initial inspiration for the sub, the moderator explained that they were not yet around at that time. However, one person from their team has been present since the beginning, but he was not the original creator, who left the subreddit years ago.

The moderator told Bored Panda that the community is decently active, "with customers asking opinions on sandwiches, or employees talking about their experiences." It offers a perfect space for workers to vent their frustrations, seek advice, and find comfort from fellow employees about the difficult situations they face daily.
"When employees talk about their grievances, other employees will chime in with their own, or ways to help! Employees in the sub, past and present, are generally pretty supportive of other employees," they added.

My Veggies In The Morning Before They Get Destroyed During The Lunch Rush
Ask any food service employee, and you’ll know that some customers have a way of annoying the people who serve them to the max. Specific actions and behaviors commonly associated with patrons that sandwich artists absolutely despise range anywhere from not knowing what they want beforehand to texting on their phones while ordering and touching the glass every single day.
And guessing from the abundance of posts in the community, weird orders customers make are also at the top of the list. They are quite a common category in the group, but thankfully, they often serve as a perfect source of entertainment. Or, as the mod told us, "It’s fun to see what people get requested, and others to share theirs in the comments!"

But the group also gives a stage for the clients to voice their opinions as well. "The main thing I see from customers in the sub are complaints about prices (which we all agree are kind of getting ridiculous nowadays), or the never-ending app glitches charging $99+ for cheese or some other item," they said.

The moderator also revealed that customers often criticize the fast-food restaurant chain, and they do not hold back. "Besides complaints about the app glitch posts, it would be customers blaming us for pricing, even though it is not the employees' fault. There have been a few cases of some customers harassing others in comments as well."

But even though patrons complain about the food or the quality of the service, they still return to their favorite joints over and over again. It’s hard to argue with the fact that fast food is delicious, convenient, and comforting. This is probably the reason why 36% of American adults consume a portion on any given day.
So we hope that this post will remind you that working in Subway can be one heck of a ride, and the people who spend their time and effort to fulfill your wishes should get the respect they deserve. Continue scrolling through this list, let us know what you think in the comments, and the next time you step foot into the palace, remember to be kind and greet your hard-working sandwich artist with a smile.

What I Came In To At Work Today... I Open The Store
I came to work and saw this, cleaned out everything as best I could while working. When my co-worker came in and I asked him to finish the dishes while I rang up customers, he went back to the backroom, came out after a few saying they were done. I finished up and went home from the graveyard shift and before the manager came in. She called and asked who did the dishes. I said my coworker finished them. She said "You do them from now on...he just rinsed them and put them away. I found tuna salad all in the scooper still." I said "Make him do it properly then...why am I getting in trouble for his crappy work ethic."

Nah, that's too much money and work. They just steal everything from Reddit anymore. It’s such a shame as this site used to write a lot of their own quirky content and feature a lot of artwork. Now I feel like it is trying to mimic Buzzfeed. Don’t even get me started on the needless censorship on this site…
