The universe is full of stuff. And some stuff is certainly more useful and more necessary than others. There are things that we need and have, then there’s stuff that we know we need, but don’t have, and then there’s stuff we know we don’t need.

But wait, there’s more. There’s also a fourth category—the stuff we are certain nobody on this planet really needs but for some reason exists. This is what Twitter has been discussing in a recent viral trend under the hashtag #StuffThatShouldNotExist.

Recently people started naming things that should not exist, but for some unknown reason are a thing. Besides all those taking a jab at Twitter’s image centering AI and everything that is wrong with the world, they have also shared pictures of things like carpets in bathrooms, Nicholas cage sequin pillows, and everything else that is either creepy, ugly or just plain useless.

Bored Panda has compiled a list of some of the best entries in this new challenge, which you can peruse below. And while you’re doing that, why not also leave an upvote and comment under the ones you enjoyed the most!

These are illegal in Korea. (Still many people use them, but they're urged to replace them)

I call them "douchebeams," having been blinded by them more than once.

Honestly, these should never been allowed. Way to bright even when they are dipped. I think there should be a 3rd setting, high beam, low beam, and very low beam, maybe a dual light so that low beam isn't white bright, but warm bright.

I have some neighbours that have similar lights on their personal drive way lamps. Shines right into my bed room at night. Even though I closed up the blinds. ☹️

Some SUVs are being shipped with these lights and because of their height, it's really a moving flashbang. Who in the automotive industry regulatory body approved this, needs to sit at the normal sedan height and face these beams.

I hate these! I'm already light-sensitive and NOTHING dims these bad boys when they're shining right into your face or reflected in your rear-view mirror!

Most dangerous aspect ever to be 'design approved' extras for a car.. how come they are still around?

No kidding. Once I got so blinded, while biking home, that I couldn't see the people 6 feet in front of me. And they were even wearing reflective jackets. Talk about having to pull a fast evasion maneuvre. I was shaking from the adrenaline for an hour.

I hate those lights coming at me. Very dangerous. The only thing worse is when a group of squad cars are together with their red and blue flashing. I have been near more than one event where I almost drove off the road.

I hated these too (I drive a Ford Focus), until someone got behind me one night. Their lights, combined with just the right height of their vehicle, lit up the road in front of me and I have never seen better at night. I have poor night vision anyway, but these were a game changer. Unfortunately, I can't get them on my car or I would.

If LEDs come on a vehicle from the manufacture they are not "brighter," they are just "whiter."

People have them fitted because they're actually "brighter". White lights are harsher than warm lights

This is common in new vehicles in India. When it's lights fall on my eyes I really feel blinded .

i looked into it (their legality) and believe it or not there are specific regulations about beam brightness - its even tied to the car's safety rating, which for a couple reasons car manufacturers take VERY seriously. that said, i absolutely agree that something is off - im firmly in the camp that some of these are so bright as to be unsafe for other drivers, myself included. i do think the worst ones might be aftermarket additions: putting a more efficient led in the headlight casing designed to reflect and maximize brightness from an incandescent bulb.

A well adjuste and OEM led headlight will not blind you. The 5 dollar Aliexpress ones do. Carmakers are moving to matrix ledlights now, active lights that will adjust according to circumstances, and will be smart enough to not blind you.

It's even worse as I'm in a sedan and the RAISED SUV and pick up trucks totally sear my eyes in my rear view mirror if said vehicles are BEHIND me....try to maneuver myself around so as not to be "victimized" by them...a bit difficult when there are LOTS of them.

People said the same about halogen light and then xenon light. If these lights are homologated then these wouldn't blend

Owners who have these "blinded by the lights" white headlights are more moronic when they put them on high beam behind you or flash them. Been blinded by them several times at night especially on turns...

They always ride your ass too expecting you to go faster, but like, now they're blinding you and now you can't see and have to go slower.

Yeah, the lumens for halogen brights is usually 1200 but the lumens for regular LED is 2000-4000. How is this legal?

Well aimed LED's have a sharp cutoff and cause less glare than regular headlights. My car has self-leveling LED's so even if I load up the trunk, they'll still be well aimed.

I think these are cool. Creepy toys aren't a bad thing, people. They aren't meant for little kids who'd be scared by them. Also, way less scary than some dolls...Like the clown from Poltergeist, lol.

I bought my dad a pen holder many moons ago which was a man bent over with his pants down. You put the pen in its butt and the man lifts his head and moans in many different ways.
