The universe is full of stuff. And some stuff is certainly more useful and more necessary than others. There are things that we need and have, then there’s stuff that we know we need, but don’t have, and then there’s stuff we know we don’t need.

But wait, there’s more. There’s also a fourth category—the stuff we are certain nobody on this planet really needs but for some reason exists. This is what Twitter has been discussing in a recent viral trend under the hashtag #StuffThatShouldNotExist.

Recently people started naming things that should not exist, but for some unknown reason are a thing. Besides all those taking a jab at Twitter’s image centering AI and everything that is wrong with the world, they have also shared pictures of things like carpets in bathrooms, Nicholas cage sequin pillows, and everything else that is either creepy, ugly or just plain useless.

Bored Panda has compiled a list of some of the best entries in this new challenge, which you can peruse below. And while you’re doing that, why not also leave an upvote and comment under the ones you enjoyed the most!

These are illegal in Korea. (Still many people use them, but they're urged to replace them)

I think these are cool. Creepy toys aren't a bad thing, people. They aren't meant for little kids who'd be scared by them. Also, way less scary than some dolls...Like the clown from Poltergeist, lol.

I bought my dad a pen holder many moons ago which was a man bent over with his pants down. You put the pen in its butt and the man lifts his head and moans in many different ways.

He'd dump it in his orange juice to turn it blue and say it tastes alright.

The bottle literally says “artificially maple flavoured syrup” colour or no, that’s gross.

The blue food coloring isn't what makes this bad, but all of those cheap "artificially flavored maple syrup" products are bad because they are essentially 100% corn syrup.

This blue in any food ..it turns out that my sister is almost fatally allergic to this food coloring. After she got put into the hospital for it, I dont even dare to try it. We both tend to have the same physiology.

Aunt Jemima Pancake Mix. I am happy that the company, Quaker Oats, FINALLY saw fit to rename their pancake mix Pearl Milling Company. I knew the name Aunt Jemima along with the picture of her wasn't right when I was a kid in the 50s and 60s. (NOT the 1850s and 60s, mind you).

Saw this at grocery outlet ( west coast answer to Aldi) just yesterday. The whole point of the cereal is the crunch. It's in the name.

The character looks unnerving and the color just matches the whole fake air of it. 0/5 would not buy.

Blue is an unappetizing color. Did you ever see blue dishes in a restaurant? No, because it's the least appetizing color. At least that's what I've been told. I once bought a real nice set of Pyrex bake ware for a ridiculous low, low price because they were blue and wouldn't sell.

It's never a good idea to feed your children (or yourself) things that are such an unnatural color.

This reminds me that in the early 2000s some marketing genius thought "kids like ketchup, kids like purple, let's make purple ketchup." Nope - I worked with kids at that time, and they were all freaked out/grossed out by it. Kids can be very picky and suspicious of new/weird foods.

If blue and pancakes are in the same sentence, then one of them needs to be followed by -berry.
