Bored Panda reached out to Alicja Posłuszna, an acclaimed photographer known for her deep conceptual insights and her unique take on visual narratives with her black and white photos.

When questioned about the inspiration behind cat photograph (included in this post), Alicja told us, "The photo showcases my cat, who often embarks on solo adventures around our neighborhood. At times, he's gone for so long that we don't cross paths. The image channels the famous thought experiment, Schrödinger's Cat. Here, the roles are flipped: the cat is the observer, determining my existence – whether I am alive or not."

On the topic of the relationship between her creative expressions and how they are interpreted by viewers, the photographer offered some more of her thoughts, "My photography is a true reflection of my aesthetics, creativity, and the courage to represent my true self. Every viewer plays a part in this creation process, co-creating the meaning through their interpretation."

Delving into influences and gratitude, Posłuszna shared, "I'm indebted to every individual and experience that has shaped my perspective and style in photography." Addressing the intricacies of her technical process, she said, "The editing and rendering time can vary based on the image. But for me, the essence isn't in the speed but the precision and storytelling."

Regarding her unmistakable fondness for black and white imagery, she passionately conveyed to us, "My heart gravitates towards black and white photography. Its starkness, paired with profound depth, intrigues me. Stripped of color, it challenges me to uncover the underlying essence and narrative."

When the conversation steered towards the potential burnout faced by many in creative fields, the photographer confidently stated, "Burnout isn't something I encounter. I never approach photography as a chore. It's my unwavering passion." On the reactions her work garners, she commented, "The reactions to my work are often a mix of emotion, intrigue, surprise, and smiles."
