Connor Manning was strolling down the street when he stumbled upon a kitten so cute, he simply couldn’t walk past without showing it some love. To his surprise though, the feeling was mutual and it blossomed into an unexpected friendship.

Connor documented the encounter with his affectionate new friend and kept posting live-updates on his Twitter account as it developed into one of the most heartwarming stories we’ve seen in a while.

Scroll below to experience it for yourself and don’t forget to put some napkins close, because you might need them by the end.

My bf is/was sorta allergic to cats too but after several years of being near them, he doesn't have it as bad anymore. So it might depend on the person but he could build a tolerance to it over time or take meds for it.

The first cat my wife got out of college, she got approximately that way. There was a toddler and a six, maybe eight month old cat completely freaking out across the street -- the toddler was screaming in terror doing basically the HOME ALONE face, terrified by a tiny kitty who was hissing back at him. One person scooped up the terrified human, my wife scooped up the terrified kitty, petted it, and calmed it down. Naturally, the cat started following her. When they got to the major intersection, and my wife got worried about what would happen if she crossed the street with the cat following, she turned around and walked back home. Went back in, and told her roommate, "It followed me home, can we keep it?" When I started dating my wife, it became VERY clear that, if Boopsie didn't approve of me, Lis and I were not gonna happen. Fortunately, Boopsie liked me almost as much as Lis did, so Lis and I are married now. Boop's been gone for at least fifteen years, and I miss her still.

AWWW!! I just had a cat do this. It showed up on my porch randomly one day and didn't leave for a few weeks. Due to my husbands severe allergies we couldn't let it in.We fed him and made him a sheltered bed. Super friendly after a week. Would start to drool when you gave him some love. Took him to the vets, no microchip. Hes now safe in the hands of an animal rescue group who got him the vet care he needed and found him a foster home until he's adopted into a furever home. I wish we could have kept him lol

This story put a smile on my face and in my heart. In a world with so much cruelty....it's nice to read a story with a happy ending. To trust a stranger...this kitty had to sense something special about Connor! At one time...this baby had a home! There are too many heartless people that want a pet and then don't want the responsibility that goes with ownership. People move away leaving their pets behind....monster neighbors will dump your pets leaving them helpless to feign for themselves....starve and physically abuse them! The same to come back on them. But sometimes....especially during cold weather....cats will find their way into a car motor and if lucky enough to survive...will often run off when the car stops! That's why I prefer keeping my furbabies inside! Imagine...more ppl doing what Connor did for this kitty! If people were responsible enough to get their pets altered...there wouldn't be unwanted babies...and knowing they have feelings like humans! Thank you Connor!

It may sound weird but it's been going on for years and you can also find tons of books and vids about the subject. It is urine therapy. It's supposed to reverse your allergies, I have tried and my oldest is dangerously allergic to latex, last time she had a reaction, I have her several of her own urine and that was it, it worked, I had the benerdril ready but wasn't necessary. Google it...

I'll sneeze really hard when I play with stray cat. But not with my own cat, maybe the allergies come from their dandruff. I don't know yet, but it is worth sneeze when you can pet a cat... Even they will judge you when you sneeze.

I thought that someone else took the cat ???........ Sometimes allergies can be managed with some tactics: stroke the cat in the direction of away from you, so you don't get the cat hairs...... always wash your hands after being with the cat....Brush the cat daily - always stroking away from yourself to reduce random hairs....etc

I am amazed how you asume he buys the lowest grade catfood... now... stating that someone that clearly says he has NO idea about taking care of cats, should give her food from his own fridge... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Any idea how bad most human food is for a young kitten?? TALK ABOUT CRUELTY!!!!! Are you seriously THAT ignorant???

She looks owned there's no way a 6 month old stray would be that healthy/clean/friendly. Cats are scabs, total scabs even when they're over fed. Opportunistic little hobos that are ready to embarrass you with the neighbours or even get stolen.

Wonderful. I hope the allergic reaction(s) is manageable. If not maybe take Allegre (?) or something of the sort. Very sweet.

Happy you kept her Conner. There are sooo many cats and dogs looking for people like you. Just don't give them to Peta. They slaughter dogs and cats.

Get to the chemist and buy some hayfever pills! That's what I take. My baby girl sleeps next to me every night and I have no problems <3

I downvoted because the term "escalated quickly" is massively overused and I'm getting sick of it.

What a sweet guy! And I guess he discovered Benadryl to alleviate those allergies. I'm allergic to cats and I had my Mowzer for almost 18 years.

I'll sneeze really hard when I play with stray cat. But not with my own cat, maybe the allergies come from their dandruff. I don't know yet, but it is worth sneeze when you can pet a cat... Even they will judge you when you sneeze.

Claritin for your allergies, my friend. And congrats on your new best friend. Mine walked into my house one day after me feeding him for a few months and now, 4 years later, at some point in the night he's around to cuddle. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Wait so did he keep her???? I thought he was allergic? Same story with my cat-roommate found him, fed him, he jumped a fence into our house. Stayed with us but hates being petted lol

If it wasn't so inappropriate I'd announce that I may have spontaneously fallen in love with those two, but since I shouldn't be so forward I'll simply say: F'ing hell, you two are cute! Please adopt me too!

this just about sums up what usually happens when befriending a streetcat. The ones that accept your warmth and hospitality, often you accept the warmth and welcome they first* provide at heart. Such a blessing and special cat <3

How the f**k do I get downvoted??? He stated he didn't feed her for one night that is animal neglect ---like wow he doesn't deserve her- That's so f****d up how do u not give it scraps of meat from your fridge or something until you can buy cat food, which I'm sure he buys the cheapest and shittiest kind ne cause he

I am amazed how you find thay cruelty. O am amazed that you know he had suitable food in his house that first night.
