This Coffee Shop Lets Stray Dogs Sleep Inside Every Night When The Customers Leave
In Greece, many people abandon their beloved pets because they can’t afford to keep them anymore; luckily, there’re places like Hott Spott, a cafe in Mytilene, Lesbos, which opens its doors to stray dogs. Since July, it’s been letting the poor doggies inside to sleep every night.
“When the bar closes each night, the dogs come and sleep here. We don’t have a problem. From July, every night there is a dog on the couch,” said a waiter at the cafe, who wanted to remain anonymous.
The island of Lesbos has also been the epicenter of the refugee crisis: “The locals have increased levels of solidarity towards environmental and humanistic issues. The new generation is more sensitive and well informed,” said Eustratios Papanis, whose original photo of the coffee shop went viral when he shared it on 3 December.

Really??? Have you ever heard of the saying if you haven't anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. Pretty apt I think from reading your comment!! What a lovely and compassionate act of kindness these people are giving those dogs. Love and compassion are obviously not one of your strong features and I feel deeply sorry for you that you aren't moved by this and only see the bad in everything.

Face reality.There are stray Dogs about. And this restaurant is doing a good thing. Reality,there will always be Homelessness.

Hello Everyone! In Greece we do not euthanize stray dogs (and cats). They are cared for by the neighborhood/community. The get vaccinated and sterilized most of the times. So these fellows were not abandonned because of owners' financial difficulties! We just pet strays!!! <3.

Kudos to this kind person who opens his heart to stray dogs. They deserve to have this little bit of kindness. Hope they get the scrapes to eat also.

That's just so sweet. I know that in many places you can't do this due to sanitation standards, but whatever, I love it. That's so great. I'd totally eat and drink here and get fur all over my nice clothes hehehe. <3 Worth it.
