30 Of The Most Unapologetic Comics By This Artist Who Believes In Laughing At Everything
Interview With ArtistSociety has lots of issues and that is no secret. Lots of artists create art connected with those issues: to spread awareness and to talk about the things we have to change so the world can become a better place for everyone.
That is exactly what artist Domien Delforge does. This comics artist and illustrator creates art about toxic masculinity, gender stereotypes, women's issues, and many other things. His art is sometimes dark and twisted, many times having sexual and political themes. However, Domien manages to capture your attention, and not only make you laugh, but also make you think.

yeah... i saw a video last night where a white men was on his porch and told the protesters to protest peacefully and the crowd just told him to "protest peaceful is white supremacy"! what kind of s**t world we are? people wants blood
Honestly. I don't see what's the problem for some people? Others religion/sexuality/gender/ethnicity should have nothing to do with whether you like them or not. How they are as a PERSON, should. For me personally it is: you're nice to me, I'm nice to you. If people however try and force their beliefs on you, is when I have a problem.
That's not how society works sadly. Being for one thing means being against the opposite by default. The media industry does that all the time - want to promote women? Make all men around them the worst. Want to be pro black? Display all whites as facist. And so on.
Edit: Not want to say that it IS being against the opposite by default, just that it's viewed that way
Load More Replies...I was hoping when I went to an lgbt community that I would be accepted. People rejected me anyway, it was strange... Lesbians that hate gay men or vice versa, racial minorities against the other- I thought it was a place where people understood what it was like to be an outcast, not picking and choosing. I was sad to see I still had no true allies.
You have true allies. Stop using labels and you will find us. Step back and take a long, hard look at the world. When you realize that everyone is trying to label everyone else and put them in their cozy cubbies, then and only then will your eyes really open and you will understand that it is just all about One Love. No cubbies, no labels, no violence, just one pure and joyous love. I will wait for you.
Load More Replies...Domien told Bored Panda: "My father always said: a dirty mind is a joy forever. I love that. But in general: it is about the importance of humor and being able to laugh with practically everything. Making jokes is important to bring messages with a more serious tone to a wide public. And laughing with everything is important to fight censorship because censorship these days is a global enemy to a lot of people."
Because advertisers marketing razors needed more customers. It wasn't normal before the 1920s and Victorian erotica depicts female body hair as sexy
Load More Replies...i once didnt shave for 4 months my boyfriend was weirded out but was ok with it then he got mad at me for growing more hair than him... oop-
Exactly. Men try to get us to shave by saying us having body hair is "unhygienic" and "gross". Well, if it's so unhygienic, why don't men shave their legs? I won't listen to males spouting that nonsense until I see no body hair on men as well.
Maybe I've been conditioned or maybe I just like having smooth legs? My husband is an absolute gem and is meh either way when it comes to hairy legs or not. I'm dark haired so this was a big deal when I was a teenager. There is no way on this green earth that I would leave my house baring hairy legs. It's just not going to happen. And the same with my pits.
Clean and trimmed/shaved works on both men and women... women should not be burdened alone. And it should be a personal choice.
I did a quick survey around the team, 32 guys have never asked women to shave their legs and 43 women have never been asked by a guy to shave their legs,,, I don't think this is accurate... after a quick search of the internet, the trend appeared to be something started by womens' magazines... women advising women...
He saved her from an eternal coma. When you are stuck in your burning house, you don't blame the firefighter who saved you for breaking your front door with his axe, do you ?
Load More Replies...in the original he raped her and she woke up with giving birth or something like that correct me if I'm wrong
Goes both ways obviously. But yes. If someone says "No." They MEAN, NO.
Dont even get me started on the real sleeping beauty story. The non Disney version
The guy wants a dead corpse in his castle but the coffin drops down - leading to Snow White to spit out the bit of apple that was stuck in her throat
Load More Replies...The weirdest part is that Snow White is a 14 yr old girl lying dead in the middle of woods... like why would you kiss her
damn, what if it was a cadaver? did he knew she was in a coma or somethin? I wouldn't even get close tbh
Domien Delforge told us what inspires him to create art: "Almost everything that is happening around me. During the day, I work for a bank, something most people consider to be rather boring. It is a fact that working for a bank means following a lot of rules and regulations. I always think that following these rules during the day frees my mind so I can create them at night. Making illustrations, there are no rules and everything is possible."
Yeah. It's like guys are supposed to be 'relatable' but women have to look like objects.
Load More Replies..."...but I really need to in order to be more healthy. Should we start a new workout together and motivate each other?" (Why not add a positive twist...)

I find people often do this to show that they disapprove of masks, while still wearing one as a way to abide by regulations.
Same. Overheard a guy once that “bragged” to his wife/sister that Walmart couldn’t say anything to them if they wore the mask covering just their chin, because they were technically wearing a mask and no rule stated how they had to wear one.
Load More Replies...People do this to show their ‘aWeSoMe NoSe JoBs’ and it annoys the heck outta me.
Annoys me too ! Uggggh. With your nose out it's easier to breathe in those respiratory droplets. Ahhhh.
Load More Replies...Yeah nah, wear it right. Yes it feels kind of uncomfortable, but people with breathing problems wear these too and don't complain. (My grandpa/father and I all have different kinds of lung problems, yet we can still breathe through these.) So normal people not suffering of any kind of breathing problem have no excuse. I also do wear glasses, but if you first flip the string around and then place it around your ear (so it makes an X like shape) you can actually have a sort of small space for the air to get out which usually for me helps lessen the fogginess of my glasses.
Yep. For sure. I don't know why people do this. I think they need more fitting masks. That might be the solution to end this
The artist shares what got him into art: "I was always interested in art, especially pop art. We had a huge Lichtenstein print at home when I was a kid, it always fascinated me. My wife has been making illustrations for a longer time, so we had everything in our home to make them (computer, Wacom tablet, software, …) A few years ago I was bored at home and started playing with it. After a few months, I started an Instagram page to share it and that was about the start of it all."
YES! I feel bad for boys cause they fell like they have to make it seem as if they are never sad. And when they do cry I always see them hide it.
I never understood how some people said: "men are tough, they don't cry." Please. They're still people with feelings. Of course they cry. Just let them, and don't make fun of them, when they open up to you.
So here is an odd correlation to think about. Since men have been told that it's not "manly" to cry, there has been an increase in male serial killers and an increase in men committing murders in general. Knowing that crying is the body's way of releasing stress, would it be safe to say that the correlation is true?
I read somewhere that crying is the body's natural way of releasing stress. Which makes some sense to me cause I do cry when really stressed! I don't think there's anything wrong with men crying, it's healthy to get your emotions out
a kiss is a kiss love is love like df we have bigger problems in this world
Oddly enough, the only thought this triggered for me was what it must be like to kiss someone with a beard.
What is sad is that at least half of these are grounds for public execution in a number of countries. Public displays of affection, as well. :(
Yup, people's sexuality is what's going to cause the end of the world for sure! Not violence or intolerance or greed...
Domien told Bored Panda why he chose to create the type of illustrations he does: "I like to find the balance between happy and playful colors, sending a message that can be political activism or just dirty-minded. Spreading a message in a playful way makes you able to reach a wider crowd. Also: I’m not the best illustrator ever, so my style also represents the lack of pure illustrative talent."
Exactly. If I'm wearing a hoodie and jeans "You look like a mess, put on something that will make men want to date you" if I'm wearing somethings nice that makes me feel confident and pretty "You look like s**t, go put on something more modests, or men will have urges that they 'can't control'"
No one is gonna mistake her for a boy in a NASA shirt. Space enthusiast maybe but not a boy.
So there isnt any issue with being androginous. Who cares if the dude in the bus thinks that I am a guy?
Load More Replies...The stupidest rule in my school is no shoulders... no, not because it’s cold, not for our safety, NOT even because of dress code tradition. They said it’s “too distracting to boys when they’re trying to study for us to be flaunting our shoulders.”
I had a positive one....still dealing with some lung affects after two months.
Sorry to read that. Hope you start to feel fully better soon. Getting my vaccine tomorrow!
Load More Replies...Domien describes his art as pop-arty, cartoonlike drawings. The artist mentioned that they are best understood by someone with an open and especially dirty mind. Domien described his style of drawing as simple and clear with a lot of influence from pop art, dot work, etc.: "I want my works to be clear in less than 5 seconds, that is what I aim for."
True!! And some you want to look at (stare) and others you try to erase from your memory!
I would be the one on the right. Fuzzy armpits included - I just forget/don't care about armpit hair...
Right? It'll always be more fun (and more legal) if everyone is into it!
Load More Replies...My biggest sexual turn on is someone who will leave me alone and let me sleep.
Domien told us how he comes up with the ideas and the themes for these illustrations: "Sometimes out of anger if something comes up in the news, sometimes an image just appears in my head. Happens a lot just before I go to sleep, laying down in my bed. I always send an e-mail to myself at that time so I don’t forget it. Happens a lot that I wake up in the morning and 5 random e-mails with random words show up in my inbox. I then try to re-make the image in my head."
I think he is absolutely right. Touching below the armpit, like shown on the left, makes your hands sweaty. Better to touch on the shoulder, like shown on the right.
Exactly. I'm bisexual, and women loving women IS NOT PORN. Do not sexualize us just for loving who we love.
Omg I relate so much. People think you're with women for attention- and if you're with a man they think "so you're straight now! Sorry you no longer qualify for our book club" I get it if someone thinks it's hot but that doesn't mean it's more or less hot than any other couple and we're certainly not there to entertain others.
Load More Replies...Or maybe it could be that straight men find women in general (physically) more appealing than other men?
One of my professors (male btw) once told us in a man's brain, they are thinking "If they are having that much fun without a guy, imagine how much fun they would have with me, a guy." Yes it's sexist and yes men are basic and dumb when it comes to a lot of stuff.
Load More Replies...Yeah, so. Y'know. Why would you stare at a couple making out? Do not stare, it's rude. Mind your own business. Doesn't matter which gender you're attracted to, you still shouldn't stare them. I bet none of you would like, if bunch of randos kept staring at you and your S/O like your life is for their entertainment.
I don't care about gender and orientation. As far as In am concerned, light PDA is ok; heavy petting and wet, slurping noises are gross.
My feelings exactly. Even in movies when they kiss and it makes that stupid smacking sound. Vom.
Load More Replies...I feel a little uncomfortable about long or involved PDA regardless of who is doing it but it has to be pretty over-the-top to make me think "gross". One of the things I get irritated about when people get upset about homosexual couples is that they are thinking about those people having sex. I like to point out that if they think about that and are thinking it's "gross" then what do they think about when they see their parents, or grandparents, or other male/female couples they know? Yeah, just stop thinking about what other people are doing in the bedroom with their partner. :-)
Exactly. I dont like too exagerated kissing in public (like making out). But I dont care who does it, I simply feel uncomfortable qnd its my problem not theirs. The people who say that a gay kiss is gross or not appropriate for kids its the same people who is fine seeing hetero couples kissing or even having sex in media.
Load More Replies...If you have such a strong, visceral reaction, exactly what are you afraid of? You're safer than you know.
Personally I would rather NOT see any couple kissing, unless it is a quickie, Goodbye
Right on mate . . . kept for freddie. never thought off him as a planet. Others may . . .
There is a coffee shop called Mercury's coffee shop. I wonder where they got the name from..... (no, the logo isn't Freddie or the planet.)
Load More Replies...Pluto is still not a planet. (now watch me get downvoted to oblivion.)

"My favorite part is when an image I have in my head is created almost identical," said Damien when asked to describe his favorite thing about creating art. "The hardest part is not being able to make an image as good as it is in my head. I don’t specifically like the drawing part, I like seeing an image being made. That’s why I also like printmaking. I love silkscreen printing: an entire day of making blank pages into art is extremely satisfying."
Except homophobes, racists, facists, transphobics, sexists, anti-vaxxers, karens, pedophiles, etc. They can just go die.
Load More Replies...or you can select none of them, nobody is perfect and that's ok.
I slightly disagree with this. I get not body shaming but if somebody is over/under weight to the point where it is affecting their health then they should change that.
this is a negative but comment, but do they have pink skin? That's kinda cool tbh...
Well, I think the artist challenges "perfect" as a beauty concept, not in terms of anatomical functionality...
Load More Replies...Some maybe all be (perfect) bodies while some are more pleasing cause they appear healthier. PC for never.
I'm asexual! :) meaning when I say "go f**k yourself!" I might mean it literally cause ya won't be f*****g me, and I'm DEFINITELY not f*****g you.
i'm questioning everything, my gender identity, my sexuality, the world
Maybe this will help- I struggled a while trying to define myself and nothing ever quite fit. We can only do our best. There is pretty much never a box that fits 100% of the time (maybe sometimes, but rarely) and under every circumstance. It is ok for people to believe and feel whatever they want, so long as they respectfully agree to disagree with others. There's also the matter of who you would f**k, and who you would date romantically. Some experience sexual or romantic attraction separately, and to varying degrees. Some don't experience both or either. I don't have a label or word for me, mainly because I can't find one. :) But just because you can't label it doesn't mean it's not legit. If you find your label I am happy for you, but if you don't that's a valid thing too.
Load More Replies...I just did a spit-take. I'm going to nerd-snicker about "pi-sexual" for a day at least!
Everyone in the comments about the "is there more than two genders" thing, you can disagree AND respect someone, you know? "I respect you believe that but I don't." Personally I think gender and sex are separate. If you don't think so that's fine :) let's all just be nice about it.
I’m bisexual which means I fall for both toxic boys and girls 😓. I.E my exs.
The artist also shared what he likes to create comics about: "In general, I like creating content on the verge of what is socially acceptable. Making images that are taboo is fun. Finding the line between what is acceptable and what some people consider to be rude or wrong."
It was zoomed in on so you know something is there.
Load More Replies...Are you sure it's A. that big, and B. has that many neuropathways? I always figured 45's brain would be rather smooth - as in No Thoughts Have Entered Here!
Ah man. This will trigger all of the Q-nuts that manage to get this far down the list.
the brain size doesn't matter here bc he doesn't have a brain!
Form when are we measuring this global warming? during the Eemian period we are on par with now...One of the warmest times was during the geologic period known as the Neoproterozoic, between 600 and 800 million years ago. Conditions were also frequently sweltering between 500 million and 250 million years ago.
When can we stop believing science and start applauding the politically ambitious?
It was cooling previously, now it's just changing, and it's gone through some big changes in the past all by itself
That might actually be ironic and funny if it actually ended up happening.
That’s kinda the point. Eventually it will end up happening. Not in our lifetime, but down the road.
Load More Replies...The artist tells us a little bit more about himself: "As said before, I work for a bank during the day. When I have some spare time, I like climbing (bouldering specifically), traveling, and enjoying good food and drinks.
I guess I always felt a bit like an outcast. Too normal to be part of the outcasts and too weird to be part of the normal crowd. I guess my current combination of banker/illustrator reflects this. During my teen years, I struggled to find this balance. Growing up and now being able to express a lot of things in my art makes it much easier to cope with this. I've now found the balance between being a 32-year-old creative guy and a grumpy old man at the same time and I love it."
Caught one the other day while fishing at an animal shelter in Queens. Cept fish part was located in the mouth. So many species yet to find.
LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Domien wanted to share some important information with our readers: "Brush your teeth at least twice a day, they won't grow back and nobody likes bad breath."

Dude must have some serious wandering eyes, his head isn't even turned her way and his head is straight forward.
This is why I hated middle school P.E. The boys would stare at us creepily and they would even rate our bodies sometimes! I'm so glad that P.E. is separated by gender at my high school. I can finally exercise in peace with no one ogling me.
when my manager came to work once ( i hated her sm) and said " too bad you're wearing a mask, i can't see you smiling at me!" XD yeaaaaa good thing there was a mask... xD

I can't relate to everybody at all... I mean then again getting bullied for smiling and being happy all the time isn't normal?

Oh yes, it happened to me before getting into a crowded subway train. Spent the rest of the commute cleaning myself with wet tissue, and had to wash part of my hair as soon as I reached the office (with soap, of course, no shampoo). Had to borrow my friend's cardigan for the day, since my coat was poopy and I had to pay for dry cleaning and for an additional new coat because I didn't have a replacement while waiting for my other coat to get cleaned.

Can someone explain this "X is female" thing to me? Is it like "black lives matter", where it's not exclusively black lives that matter? Because that doesn't really seem to make sense here.
??? "The future is female" refers to having more women in fields of mechanics and science, not exterminating men. You used "BLM" as an example. But police violence against black people wasn't very recognized before May 2020. It's not that women or people of colour think that they are above others. They just want equality and reconition. You may argue that it is more equal now, but it isn't. People still are discriminated against.
Load More Replies...Other groups finally achieving equality does not mean you are being oppressed. The arguement that if you allow other groups equality they will oppress us like we oppress them is hilarious. You are admitting that you benefit from the mistreatment of others.

Load More Replies...This is disgusting! But ... germans are used to it - the coach of our national football team (soccer in some countries) always is mining his nose, and when he found some of that precious ore, he ... eats it. On camera. All the time. It's not that I'd like to watch football at all, but this makes me actively avoid it - I don't want to see Joachim eating boogers ... bah ... no. Disgusting. I still wonder why he seems not to care that the entire world can and does see him doing so.
Hm, the caption says "Artist Pokes Fun At Toxic Masculinity, Gender Stereotypes" but here are all sorts of punny and critical drawings, including for example politics. Nice series actually!
Yup, That's why the title includes the 'And More' part! - BP Staff

No they aren’t, you just don’t believe in equality and feel slighted.

Load More Replies...i like the overall message of equality and acceptance, but a lot of these really aren't that clever or funny to me. Also some of them seem more like provocation than thought-provoking, and i think that's less useful.
