Technically, the body of the walker should be less visible than the legs, because fog. But I'd love to stumble into this IRL. As a lost storm trooper of course. Like hell I want to go against an ATAT walker armed with a camelbak, a blanket and not the slightest resemblance to an ewok.

Not so as fog is thicker closer to the ground. So at ground level, looking at the feet you are looking through solid fog. But as your gaze travels up you are looking through less and less fog. So the body of the walker should appear darker than the feet (If you looked straight up you would be looking through the minimum of fog).

Commander: Sir, we've located the rebel scum on the planet surface. He's instagramming our approach. Darth Eeblowz: Then commander, I suggest you make us look like the pride of the fleet. And trace the likes he gets for the picture. We shall find the Rebel Base. They will not escape us this time.

Yup, that's a great shot of Naboo. Been there a few years back. Met the queen too! Shes a wonderful girl, very mature for her young age. Didn't see the Gungans though. They're quite pissed off after public perception of them went south after George Lucas's documentary the Phantom Menace thanks to Jar Jar.
