Needless to say, stand up comedy is a tough gig right now(COVID) and I'm not going to lie, it was hard losing my job. But not getting my weekly dose of human validation through drunken patrons at my local clubs have been harder. Before COVID I was doing comedy for 2 and a half years and entered a nation-wide comedy competition called RAW here in Aus. Which I got to the semi-finals for! But before I could compete the world shut down, gigs the first to go, and my comedy dream with it.
So the question lingered, how do I make people laugh from home? I tried online gigs and harassing my friends with puns, but that wasn't viable (and my friends banned me from punnery.) Enter my animation degree (or as my parents call it 'an expensive drink coaster'.) Comics! I use to love drawing. I decided to do a weekly comic.
And now I have my friends and fans looking forward to their weekly giggle. Glad that in these times I can still bring the laughs in some way. Can't wait for the gigs to get going again but I'll keep the comics going when they do. Hope you enjoy it, they are my own brand of strange.
