Squiggly Lips Are A Thing Now, And The Pics Will Make You Feel Uncomfortable
It seems like every time we open Twitter or Instagram, someone is trying to make a new beauty trend blow up, and they usually range from bold to just bizarre. As if it wasn’t weird enough that squiggly brows became a thing earlier this week, squiggly lips have landed, and if this isn’t a sign of the end times then we aren’t sure what is.
Yes, it looks exactly like it sounds; lips shaped like two connected squiggly lines one might have doodled in their high school binder. We held our tongue when fake freckles rolled out. We clenched our teeth through unicorn liner. We screamed into our pillows over feather brows. This, however, might be more than we can humanly handle. Unless it’s all one big satirical joke, however, in which case we’re totally behind it.
Regardless of whether or not people are taking this seriously or just taking the piss out of the beauty community’s revolving door of fads, its reception has been pretty hilarious. Scroll down to see it for yourself, and what people are saying about it.
Earlier this week, a new beauty technique called ‘squiggly brows’ started popping up all over the Internet

As if that wasn’t weird enough, people decided to take it up a notch and introduce ‘squiggly lips’ as well

Think you’re hallucinating? Nope, that’s actually the way it’s supposed to look

People’s reactions were quite mixed. While some were trying to relate…
Others were simply offended…
And some compared them to Ditto, our favorite Pokemon
What do you think? Are you here for squiggly lips or not? Tell us below!

Share on FacebookWhy? Just why would you want to have eyebrows and lips that look like Gary the snail from Spongebob, when he hovers above the ground???
And when they say 'All over the internet', they probably just mean instagram :)
Load More Replies...To some people makeup is more than just an everyday thing, it's an art form, a means of creative expression. Maybe some of these people are just challenging themselves to create this look for Instagram, maybe some of them plan to walk around wearing it. If someone has found joy in this world, and it's not harming anyone else then why rain on their parade? If you haven't got that in your own life, then I hope you are able to find joy.
Why are people so pissed about it?? It's just makeup, stop telling them what they should or shouldnt do with their own products and face, geez...
Right?!? Good grief, it isn't like half the people who are bitching never feathered their hair and wore electric blue eye shadow with bubble gum pink lipstick. Fashion trends are always stupid, that is how they get our attention. Everyone remember, do what you will, so long as it harms none.
Load More Replies...especially with the lip texture being extended into the squiggle ss if the lips are actually that shape
Load More Replies...Thanks for the inspiratian! I have a job interview tomorrow, I will definitely try both squiggly lips and brows! Not.
Your comment would be so much better without the last word!
Load More Replies...I'm not against those makeups, they look interesting, some are even cute. I'm not sure I'll do it for myself though, but I see no problem for others.
They're photoshopped anyway. You couldn't do it IRL.
Load More Replies...I don't really understand why people are so judgemental about this. "They need to get a job, they need something meaningful to do with their lives, they should stop doing this s**t and donate the money they would use to some charity, blah, blah blah.." Yeah, as if the rest of the population have never spent time or money on something that wasn't completely necessary. I don't think it looks that bad on most of them. Have seen people do way worse with their face. And what I think about it doesn't really matter anyway, it's their face, their lives.. Let them do what they want to, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.
Stupid? Yes. But my generation had polyester leisure suits.... stupid isn't exclusive to one generation but it's usually associated with fashion
Ok, i'm sure i'm in the minority here, but what I see is some girls having way too much fun with some bright colors on their faces. I don't see why people feel the need to criticize something so harmless. Silly, yes. But harmless fun.
Most of these are photoshopped, the lip creases DON'T magically squiggle or follow the contours of lipstick.
Be different, be weird, be a trend setter, some may like it, some may not, respect differences
are you people serious? It's a very poor photoshop work. look closely how the image is magnified and blurred at the curves. Are you all really so foolish to believe everything you see on internet?
They look like they actually shaped the lips, not just ran the lipstick up and down. How did they do that? Looks like something from a strange planet visited by the Enterprise.
Looks kind of fun, especially the eyebrows. Wouldn't do it myself, nor would I have the time, but to each her (or his, I guess) own choice.
Just expressing their creativity. I would give them a strange look if they went out in public, but I don't find it offensive or ugly. Haters just gonna hate.
it dont look classy or something... it look cheap, BUT its not my problem, everyone have right to do whatever with their own bodies.... :)
People who talk s**t on others for a fashion trend either have too much time to spare, are double faced d***s, or just very bored pandas.
Maybe, this look isn't ideal, BUT is making fun of it the best thing to do? If you want to fling insults at some because of makeup.. then maybe you need help on your face. With a personality like that, you need all the help you can get. How about some #girlove ?
I think it's less about this person doing what they want to their face and more the fact that calling it a trend is attempting to get everyone to do it.
Load More Replies...The blur, smudge, and distort tools in photoshop were used for most of these
I think it looks kind of neat, definitely a great form of art! I myself wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't say anything about anyone else doing it! Bravo for being unique!
I like it...the lip things kinda labial but that's cool...the brows rock...
I just have two comments to make. 1-the lovely woman in picture #1 with the white eyeliner has beautiful lips! #2-Ellie Boyer, very funny!
...And why people care so much ? Do what you want and don't give a f**k about other... You are so much stick in the a*s people.
It's a fun trend, meant for fun. I think it's kind of cool, since real lips and eyebrows don't look like that. That's the beauty of makeup.
All of these so-called trends that Bored Panda find, I have never seen anywhere else. Remember tattooed freckles? Or LED eye-lashes? Yeah, nowhere to be seen!
OMG I think stupidity just won the war against good looks and logic!!! RUN 4 UR LIVES!!!
Ridiculous looking !!! Especially the eyebrows ! Looks lie worms crawling across her face !
Why this f*****g muslim is wearing makeup? Shouldn't it cover its snout?
It looks absolutely ridiculous! Laughable! It will never become an actual trend.
I think they both look ridiculous. What's wrong with the way nature formed our brows and lips in the first place?
I'll try my best not to laugh in their faces if I ever see someone looking like this . REALLY !
I thought makeup was supposed to enhance your beauty. They look a hot mess. I needed a good laugh.
Bored Panda comment sections are for people who take things far too literally. Makeup, like fashion, is an art form. Not everything is meant to be functional you d***s. Abstract art is a thing that is celebrated. Why not abstract makeup. Or costuming? Or even avate guard looks. Let people express themselves without dumping all over it.
I have officially lost ALL my faith in humanity. Every day the Earth steps closer to the end, but this? This is a leap.
Hahaha the receptionist at my Doctors office does like the one pic where she does a 'cut out' on her bottom lip-I CAN'T STAND IT! AND I CAN'T STOP STARING!
None of these are plastic surgery. They are just clever makeup techniques. This is a troll article.
It reminds me of stitches. It looks like someone sewed their mouth shut. Maybe talking too much too?
Clearly it suits some people better than others. Maybe its just so you dont have to take hours getting ready in the morning. Instead of precise pristine lines go for the 'I applied my make up on the bus look' !
Why do we continue to want to make ourselves look more and more like cartoon people, natural is where it's at
Yeah, whatever. What the dude said up there about people having way too much free time on their hands is too valid in this case. Ladies you're beautiful without looking like boiled calamari. Or maybe you're not, who cares.
The title is accurate .this is " a thing" . Cause it doesnt even deserve to have its own trend name.
This is just plain ridiculous. I can't express my hatred enough. Unless you want to look severely mentally damaged, don't do this.
Why would anyone want to look like they went trough a bad Photoshop filter is beyond me.
Whoa... some people actually have waaaaaay too much free time on their hands and feel desperate for attention.
7 photos, and you call this being a "thing" now? No, its not a thing, its a few ladies deciding to make their face into a blurry photo -_-
Says the one that talks s**t on it on an app for "bored people"
