35 Things People Embody So Deeply That Their Entire Personality Revolves Around It, As Shared In This Online Group
Someone’s personality is formed by a lot of different things: their behavior, social attitudes, what they believe in and other things. It is influenced by our environment and how we react to it. Most often a personality is constant and we can even predict what a person would like or how they would react to an unknown thing because they follow a specific pattern.
Personality is a complex concept, however, some people tend to simplify it and choose one thing to base it on. It may become annoying, at least according to the experience of redditors who responded to Kandiblu’s question “What’s something that people turn into their whole personality?”
The thread became quite popular with over 58k people upvoting it and almost 44k of them joining in. These are some of the annoying personalities based on one thing that most people found very annoying. Do you agree with them? Which ones that you find unbearable weren’t in this list? Let us know in the comments!

OCD.i dont know why many people in my lives believe they have OCD and they are proud about it. There is a difference between keeping everything organized and OCD.
Yes. I don't have OCD, but I like everything being organized, but at a certain point I just don't care...
And I am the opposite! I do have OCD (officially diagnosed), but I don‘t care if things are organized or not.
Load More Replies...Oooh, I hate this!!! My sister developed OCD at the ripe old age of nine, and it shattered our whole family’s world. I won’t give details, for her privacy, but the short version is that she was hospitalized for being su*cidal three times in the next ten years. She mostly has it under control now, and has told me some of the stuff that she was battling back then, that I wasn’t privy to. Not that she had to. She went from a happy, bubbly, normal 8-year-old girl to a shell shocked husk in less than a year. Perfectionism, even anxiety-induced perfectionism, is NOT OCD!!!! *Rant over*
My daughter was recently diagnosed w OCD. It's soul crushing bc I know she's had it for quite some time. We kept thinking it was anxiety her therapist and psychiatrist as well. It all makes sense now. She's exhausted from her brain constantly on attack. Her compulsion is non stop talking about how sad and miserable she is. She's lost every single friend. It's just me and her dad and her boyfriend but I think he's causing more pain than relief. We're fighting it head on trying everything we can. It's horrible watching my baby struggle this hard and not being able to fix it. The guilt is overwhelming at times. So glad to hear your sister is doing better that gives me some hope.
Load More Replies...So true. Ocd or symptoms of it have only little to do with being organized. Needing to check the door even when you know you did it already or really _really_ wanting to touch handrails in a certain order before going down the steps - those are ocd symptoms and even then it doesn't mean you have the actual disorder. You neat freaks, don't steal words from other people.
The one I remember my brother doing was touching the back of dining chairs eight times every time he went past them and I (at the time 8 years old) couldn't understand why he couldn't 'snap out of it'. He never had any compulsions that involved organization- his room was a mess for example, and he never washed his hands obsessively either. People need educate themselves more before they give themselves a 'label' as it makes it harder for those with a diagnosis.
Load More Replies...I DO have OCD (actually diagnosed, take medicine, doesn't work all the time) and OCD can be so messy! My bedroom is a mess, but if you move anything, I will flip. It's exactly where I need it. Whatever it is.
OCD should not be glamourized or glorified. Being neat and organized is different from having OCD. We once had a resident with OCD and the poor woman was so broken. She will keep calling her relatives up to 40 times in a day when her obsession would kick in that she needs to remind them to send her check. She always tells us she is so exhausted by her OCD but she cannot help it and she keeps apologizing for the things she did that she has no control of. For people with OCD it is not fun and they are not even proud of it. OCD drives them to the ground.
Doesn't seem like many people know the difference between OCD and OCPD (the latter having to do with needing everything neat and orderly as well as having control over things and situations) They are two very different disorders.
This! I have OCPD and I can't stand it when people tell me to "stop being so OCD". That's not my diagnosis, it's not a personality trait and those with OCD can't just stop their symptoms. OCPD is exhausting enough, I can't even imagine what it's like for someone with OCD.
Load More Replies...I have OCD. Contamination and most naturally, "Symmetry". I don't give a damn f**k how messy things are, I need them to be symmetrical. Sometimes if there are guests at our house, and I arrange something, they'll be like "Oh wow your parents are so lucky to have a daughter like you! I don't do it unlike some people to gain appreciation. What some people don't understand that OCD doesn't always come alone. My mind is filled with violent (sometime se*ual )thoughts about the people I love most, and it's slowly killing me inside. OCD is dangerous, not something to be proud of.
I have OCD too, but for me its primarilly intrusive thoughts. A nasty one in particular is "Dont think of anything you dont want to think of.", which is kinda contradicting in itself. Took a long time to convince myself, that im not a monster...
Load More Replies...This display is neither from OCD or keeping things organized. Don't act like just because they're in a row that this is organization. They aren't all turned the same way. Lol. I'm definitely compulsive about organization and how things look but OCD is about so much more. I don't have to touch doorknobs x amount of times, do things at the same time everyday, etc., etc.
People saying the are OCD is bullsh:t. OCD is a dibiliating mental illness that is not something to just joke around about, or to say it like it's just a little quirk.
I have a family-member with OCD who refuses treatment. It is like hell.
Load More Replies...Because they have a fundamental misunderstanding of what OCD actually is...
This photo is driving me crazy. Baskets don’t match, none of the candy/snacks are lined up correctly, and it’s all facing in different directions. 😬
I know, me too, and that Snickers bar creeping over to the M&M's side...
Load More Replies...I don't have OCD, but I also don't have a word for when I have to pick that piece of lint of someone's sweater, or else I won't be able to focus on what they're saying, or things like that. My brain stops working until I do that one thing, so I guess that's a compulsion?
Sounds a lot like me, I have those situations alot. In my case, it is because I am autistic ^^
Load More Replies...I also hate this. as someone who suffered for years from hoarders OCD and irrational attachments, I had to switch schools due to the teasing and teachers being unable to deal with any type of neurodivergency. my room was full of junk, I would cry over everything, and it was just hell for me. I'm so glad I got medicine and therapy for it. every time something wasn't perfect, I felt physically sick. OCD is not a blessing or a quirky fun thing. OCD is an illness.
I have OCD and it’s hella annoying for me if I don’t do certain things I freak out and I have to quadruple check to see if I actually did it I also am quite airheaded and forget things I’ve done or said in the span of like 3 seconds. In turn I have constant anxiety about things and developed depression at the good old age of 11! If I don't think I closed my door this morning before leaving? I have a panic attack in the middle of the grocery store! If I don’t think I took my dog outside enough after like 15 times before I left? I’m running home to get him. This. Is. My. Life. Not everyone will have the same symptoms but for me I I don’t give a damn about being organized I just wanna be able to sleep.
Speak to your parents about being screened for OCD. If they don't listen go to your school counselor and ask if they can intervene on your behalf to ask parents for screening for OCD.
Load More Replies...I hate hearing people say they have OCD. My coworkers do it a lot. Ummm no, you don't. You put stuff where it goes? Good on you, but not OCD.
Exactly! OCD can be very crippling for the person with it. Way beyond being tidy and organized, if memory serves me, part of OCD diagnosis is that it *negativity* effects that persons life.
Load More Replies...I also get frustrated by this mischaracterization of OCD. OCD is an anxiety disorder that can be quite debilitating. OCD is in lay terms either: a) A compulsion that some activity MUST be done (and often involves repeated activity, such as hand washing or checking). The reasoning for the person with OCD is that something very bad will happen if these rituals aren't done. The other part of OCD is: b) Obsessions, which are repetitive thoughts about something (s) that are anxiety provoking. This is not a "crush" on someone in which you're thinking about something romantic. These are repetitive disturbing thoughts that won't go away. What I've just described is the lay clinical definitely of OCD. It's not being a neat freak or obsessing about some type of love interest. I have OCD. This is my life.
Well whoever 'organised' these baskets didn't do a very good job! I would have to have all the labels facing the same way and in much neater lines!
No kidding! Liking organisation doesn't make you lose sleep or peace of mind. It doesn't make your hands red raw from too many washings. It doesn't make people stare at you because you MUST do certain behaviours or rituals. Get over yourself.
If this person was a truly suffered from OCD, all the labels would be facing upwards, read from left to right...the chocolate bars would be in one bin together, either alphabetized and/or colour co-ordinated. This is NOT a true OCD. Just organized a bit
The Snacks in the picture yay be sorted, but why are they not arranged niceley? Or at least turn the logo Up to the viewer.
This is not OCD. OCD is checking the stove 45 times before leaving the house and not knowing for sure it's off. OCD is turning on and off the lights for a half hour so it clicks the right way and the bad things won't happen. Locking unlocking doors, washing hands until they're raw and not being able to clean up for fear of contamination. This is OCD.
There are people with ocd that aren't organised because most ocd patients want perfection and in order to get that perfection, they postpone which can cause disorderliness. For example, cleaning. So not all ocd patients are organised
Bit messy, bars and packets all over the place, upside down back to front. OCD my a**e.
Not to mention, Ocd isn't always organization. I'm diagnosed Ocd and my O's and C's have nothing to do with organizing things.
I don't think OCD is just about keeping things organized - IMHO the phrase is coined way too often and denigrates the actual disease...
As someone who does have officially diagnosed OCD with other friends who have it...we learn on each other for support. And we certainly aren't proud of it [our diagnosis]. For people who actually have it, it's a source of pain not pride. I'll never understand the whole "bragging about having OCD when you're actually just an organized person" phenomenon
It's insensitive to those who really do have OCD. I'm thinking that those who are diagnosed with it wish they didn't have to struggle with it.
OCD is just like it says: a disorder. It’s a glitch in the brain that causes a person to take some things to extremes, not just being hyper-organized. Examples: using a bar of soap to wash your hands, then throw it away and open a new one for the next wash because you just have to; flipping a light switch off, then on again, then off again just because you have to hear the click the switch makes.
THIS!!! A former friend always complains about her "OCDs." Um, no, you're just particularly a**l about where your stuff goes. I know someone w/ legit OCD & that mad couldn't walk past a phone w/o twisting the cord 3x each & touching EVERY lightswitch 3x.
I know one person who does have OCD and it's not something he boasts about. It's sets of three. So, if he comes for dinner and goes to wash his hands. He washes them 9 times before he can stop.
i know that is organised but the way that they aren't all facing up (or lined up) bothers me.
I have OCD but I'm not proud about it. I've almost missed my bus multiple times actually😒
I have OCD. I don't make it my personality so to speak, but I still do the "knock on wood" and "things need to be organized" s**t from time to time
I have OCD - contamination based, not ritual based. It makes me very particular in the control and safety of food and prickly as heck over food storage, to the extent that if we had access to a supermarket I wouldn't touch any food there as it would be stored in the same room as poisons. It bars me inside the town in summer as every route out is lined with poisonous wildflowers. It's controlling and terrifying, and nothing like this cutesy aesthetic that people put its name to.
God! If they 'really' had OCD they would see it pretty much like a curse! I had it pretty bad in middle school after my parents divorce. I felt defective, it hindered my happiness, and effected my daily routine constantly. I felt like I couldn't enjoy my life and I was 12! I dont wish it on anyone!
my sister has severe obsessive compulsive disorder, diagnosed officially by a doctor and everything, so now that i know in at least one case what it actually looks like, i get really annoyed when people claim to have OCD who obviously don't.
I have OCD, I was diagnosed after I had my daughter and it got si bad that I couldn't have conversations with people because the intrusive thoughts got so bad. I had struggled with it since I was 16 and was too ashamed to seek help because I thought something was wrong with me. But when I finally did and got diagnosed I realized that OCD was totally different then what I thought it was. People who don't have it really have no idea what it is.
The picture is of organized. OCD would have arranged all the candy and chips to face forward, right side up, perfectly spaced evenly, in a pleasing for the eye display.
But still not happy with the final result so switch the baskets around a few times trying to decide what one should be in front or should they be side by side, what size of gap should there be between the baskets, should the Twix be in with the Snickers, is there another matching basket somewhere that I could use?
Load More Replies...There's a difference between being a perfectionist and being OCD. Though perfectionism can become OCD if it isn't managed well.
It really comes down to the reaction to *not* having things organized - and in that, also remembering not everyone with OCD has an organization obsession; crooked pictures and well organised objects are not the hallmark of OCD, intrusive thinking is. That's not even factoring in OCPD - which is trademarked by perfectionism - people who "lose their minds" or get ragey if things are not done a certain way or perfect are very likely displaying traits of OCPD (hallmarked by... the need to be in control, if memory serves me correctly), not OCD which is characterised primarily by a sense of impending doom or dread. An even better thought, is to leave the diagnosis' to professionals and not to flippantly brand someone as OCD because they like to be organized.
OCD. As diagnosed by a medical professional. Liking everything organized, being a neat freak, has nothing to do with it.
This is so very true, I have mild OCD, and it's not fun or cute or helpful, it's a nightmare. Not to mention, everyone thinks OCD is keeping everything clean and organized but it varies greatly. I hate dishes but obsessively write list, as an example.
That's true, looking at the photo, you could be upset if they weren't organized and put together and feel better if they were sorted out. Someone with OCD wouldn't be able to live with the Snicker bars not being aligned and would probably be frantic if you ate one and therefore making one of the above an odd number. For example you can only eat one if you replace it immediately. Although cleanliness can become an obsession too, OCD is a mental illness.
I have OCD. I was diagnosed when I was eleven and I’m now nearly thirty-six. You have every right to express yourself any way you wish, but I ask that you say what you really mean. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a mental illness. It’s frightening, invasive, exhausting, and it can steal your very thoughts from you. It is not a cute personality quirk. Please consider that before you use “OCD” to describe yourself or someone else. Thank you. <3
Yeah! I HATE ppl saying they’re ocd so much. I have ocd and I can see clothes on the floor from here
I have ocd. I'm guessing everyone else has a different thing but the result is same. I can't change stuff. Unable to move furniture or change it. But also i am unable to change my phone screen or a stupid thing like piercings. I change em, and i get nervous and my brain is telling me that cuz I changed something, the " fuckening " is coming. When i think about it normally it's stupid and lame. But my brain starts to work differently, when stuff chas been changed. And it doesn't mean not organized. It means changed. Not like figurines or books. For those I don't care. It's different stupid s**t. It leads to anxiety and panic
I was diagnosed with OCD in 2018 after I told my therapist that my compulsive cleaning might be an issue. I'm not doing a bit of dusting and vacuum, I mean 5 hours a day, nervous breakdown if everything wasn't "perfect". Through meds and therapy I've come a long way but I still have my days. It's definitely not something to brag about.
I was diagnosed with OCD in 2018, when I told my therapist that I compulsively clean. I'm not taking vacuum amd dust a little. I mean like.... 5 hours a day, can't sleep if it's not "perfect". With medication and therapy I've come a long way, but it's HARD. Definitely not something to brag about like I hear people do.
If the OP was truly OCD, that M&M package would be flipped over, as well as the bag of chips.
I think it's mean to label every action of every human with enough self confidence to do things the way they want to.
There sure is!!!! I detest it when someone says, oh I have ocd..I like my stuff in order… If only it was that simple…I have diagnosed ocd and it is hell…used to take me 4-5 hours in a grocery store trying to pick “the right one” so that nothing bad happened to someone I loved…,,
I have OCD and I can assure you my room is a mess, however I panic trying to choose what I'll eat because I fear that if I choose the "wrong" option my friends will die, I spent months not being able to get out of bed because of how much fear I was feeling and because of all my obsessive and intrusive thoughts... oh also now I accept ocd and deal with it, its not who I am but it is a part of me, and I dont feel ashamed of it (you don't need to be ashamed of it as well, remember not to misunderstand the comments when people say that ocd is not something you should be proud of), however it hurts to hear people using OCD as it was just being perfectionist and stuff, it just diminishes all the pain people with ocd have to deal with
Thisss. I've had it since I was 7. I always hear people say they're OCD bc they're clean and organized. Um yeah try being a child that stays up til 3 am trying to get the water faucet to stop dripping, going through the house 45 times to check if all the light switches are off, people looking at you funny bc you have to step over the cracks correctly.
.Because OCD is a continuum. So it isn't a problem to have OCD until you are far enough down the continuum is negatively impacts your life
I have CDO. It's like OCD, except the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be.
I kind of get crazy about organization when I'm at my job. Like everything on my desk should stay how I like it and do not touch or move anything. Their is a certain order or routine that I like to follow. However, when I am at home, that organization flies out the window. Not that I'm a slob, but it's like my whole personality changes. Don't know if that's ocd or not but its not something that bothers me so I guess it doesn't matter...
I have OCD, was diagnosed after havung my daughter but I struggled with it since I was 16 and felt a lot of shame about it. I am so not organized. People who don't have it really have no idea what it is and how hard to deal with it can be at times. Having unwanted intrusive thoughts can cause a lot of anxiety.
Oh my word yes...once had an argument about my bedtime routine. I do it in the same order so I'm not lying g in bed thinking 'did I lock the door' it common sense, not ocd
While most people found these things they mentioned annoying and in some cases they even expressed fear seeing someone so obsessed about just one thing, the people who always bring up the same topic in every conversation might not be doing it on purpose.
Bored Panda reached out to Denise Marigold, an Associate Professor and Chair of Social Development Studies at the Renison University College in Waterloo, Canada to learn more about this.
I’m Norwegian. When I say that, a shocking amount of people assume that I’m American with Norwegian heritage. There are so many americans making their «viking heritage» their whole personality, butchering the norse faith and fighting with actual Norwegians over the correct way to make a traditional dish and the spelling and usage of «skål» (cheers).
It’s so f**king horrible to watch. It’s like being mocked.
I'm half Irish, and there's people I've spoke to that are in the US and found out they are maybe like.. one tenth Irish, but they make jokes like "haha us ginger leprechauns" .. I don't really mind, but please. You're American, not Irish. Same way that I wouldn't say I'm fully Irish or fully Romanian, I'm half and half, yes, but I'm British. Edit: I don't wanna say don't be proud of your heritages, I certainly am, I've been learning Romanian and Irish, make Irish and Romanian foods, etc. But I would never say I'm FROM those countries, just that my ancestors are.
Work. Some people just make it their whole life and I don't get it. Work to live, don't live to work. My workplace's normal business hours are 8:30 - 5:00, but I'm constantly hearing people say s**t like "when I was working on it this weekend" or talk about how they work so late, it makes me cringe.
It makes me wonder if they're avoiding something else in their life. Like being at the office is better than being at home.
She explained to us that it’s not unusual for people to focus their attention on one thing, like a goal or interest. The professor explains why it happens, “When you get absorbed in a goal, it can be like a flow state, where everything else can disappear while one becomes pleasantly engrossed in what they are doing.”
When you get into something with high concentration, “Other thoughts and feelings that are irrelevant to the topic get automatically inhibited. This can be adaptive because it facilitates goal progress and freedom from distractions and conflicts. When people do this well, they get a lot of enjoyment out of it.”
Astrology. The only full moon presiding over me is my own bare a**.
I find it fun but that's about it. Every personality can be associated to anyone born at any time of the year.
Brands. People think chosing a brand of clothing speaks lota about them.
Depending on the level of absorption, this kind of state may be either beneficial to a person or interfere with their normal life. Dr. Denise Marigold reveals what positive and negative results it can bring, “Absorption in a goal or interest may also serve as a way to get relief from unwanted thoughts and feelings. If people are doing this to block out awareness of unwanted thoughts and feelings, they also tend to lack awareness of the effects their behavior has on others around them (e.g., how boring and lonely it can be for others to be around them when they have gone to their obsessive ‘happy place’).“
Some fans are kinda scary. Their whole life becomes dedication to a celebrity’s. And it’s not just their personality, they make everything around them about that person. Posters, music, merchandise, weird things bought on the internet—supposedly with relation to the subject of their obsession—and so on.
I can’t imagine being close to somebody before and after their transition into that life. It seems like it’d be scary…
I think the title should really say "obsessive fans". You can be a fan of a celebrity without being frightening. I am a fan of David Tennant. I've never met the man, but I do enjoy whatever I see him in, and it will influence whether or not I watch something if he is one of the stars.
Being sick/ sickly. I've always had very poor health, and in high school and early college, as my conditions worsened, I didn't like that I couldn't live a "normal" life, so I kind of leaned into it. Always joked about how sickly I was while secretly hating myself for not being able to "keep up" with my peers. Some maturing and some guidance from my mother has helped me to learn that, yes, poor health sucks, and yes, I can't always do the things that healthy people can, but that doesn't have to control my identity. Doing far better now, learning what my true limits are and how to work with them!
Some people might get annoyed that there is nothing else to talk about with that person because they will force the same topic on you. You will have to deal with that by assessing the situation and your relationship with that person.
Dr. Denise Marigold suggests that “In some relationships you might feel comfortable being completely honest and direct and saying something like ‘It’s nice that you are enthusiastic about that! Unfortunately it’s not something I can really get into. Because it’s hard for me to engage in that topic and feel connected with you, I find myself losing interest quickly.’ If you feel the need to be less direct, you can still aim to validate their interest while steering the conversation towards other topics you can both engage in.”
Being a badass in school. Like giving teachers a day of hell just cuz they’re “real” and say what they think without filtering it
LOL This is such a phase. I was like this for a year in a Bart Simpson sort of way.
So if someone is really focused on a particular interest, it’s just their happy place and they feel comfortable and passionate talking about it. Also, if you get bored of talking about it or listening to it, there are nice ways to try and explain to the person without making them feel like they are a boring interlocutor.
HERBALIFE. having to literally explain to people that it’s an MLM is so frustrating. They prey on small towns, create “nutrition shops” that sell $9 shakes when it’s literally just Herbalife and is helping the owner barely break even.
Happened in my small town, then out of nowhere 3 other “branches” popped up in the revolving small towns. (Which basically means the owner conned 3 more into joining so that they can get their profit). There’s a documentary out there called like One in a Million or something that breaks down the pyramid and how little people at the bottom are actually making. They also show that the shakes are nothing more than liquid laxative, so of COURSE you’re losing weight.
Also, keto.
Herbalife is "nothing more than liquid laxative"? Which means, one is only losing water. That's not healthy - and, people still buy them.🙈
Political party
Imo out of all of them these are the worst no matter what side they're on.
My Texas high school had a British club. I'm actually a British citizen, so I tried to join.
Those people were nuts. They made Doctor Who and Sherlock their whole personalities.
Don't forget Harry Potter! I'm a fan of Dr Who, Sherlock and HP, but goddamn I don't make it my personality...
Drinking
I hate that people expect me to explain why I don't drink, like there is something fundamentally wrong with me!
Disliking something. Met someone the other day who hates avocados so damn much every conversation they’d have would come back to how different they were from most people cuz they hated avocados
" If you like/don't like what I like/don't like we can't be friends". This gets old real quick.
The generation they're born in
I feel closer to the mindset of gen X than millennials but I'm classified as millennial by when I was born. It's a novelty just like astrology.
Being in the army, military. Also gym
It might be a way of coping with the emotional pain though... (For army/military)
Their music taste. I am very much guilty of this.
I am exhausted by the thousands of different music genres now. People ask what kind of music I like.... the good kind.
Disliking something mainstream/popular/common
I can't stand this. Wonder how many people are out there missing out on things they might love because they feel like they need to keep up an image they fabricated of being too "edgy' "unique" "original" to like anything mainstream and popular.
Owning a tesla
DON'T NEED A TESLA TO IMPRESS HER, MY GIRL IS HAPPY ROLLIN ON A VESPA!
Vaping
Their vehicle
I love my mini. I don't really talk to others about it, though. It's private.
Coffee
I might be guilty of this one. I love a good coffee or tea far too much...
anime protagonists
Well. This one is funny, but also annoying. Like I have a friend who was OBSESSED with My hero acadamia, s/he would try to be as close as she could to be like the protagonist.. eventually she quit, but some of it still was habit.
Stocks/Trading/Investments
This isn’t Boiler Room or Wolf of Wall Street. You don’t need to convince me to get into trading as we talk over a food service counter.
I can’t help but think of people who move money to make money as parasites. I have more respect for any janitor or food service worker than I do an investor. No one mows a lawn or bandages a wound is going to ruin the whole economy.
I wanna say "memes" but that just makes me sad about myself
Redditors who act out their usernames.
I think their usernames are more of a reflection of their personalities.
Travel
I don't mind these types of people. They're living a life of adventure and exploration. I wish I could have that lifestyle.
I'm surprised smoking pot wasn't here. I'm for full legalization - do what ya want - but some people really go overboard. It's a recreational drug, not a lifestyle.
i’m sorry if this sounds offensive, because it’s not supposed to be and im bi myself, but, being lgbtq. i get that you should have pride in who you are, but making ur whole personality about being gay is really annoying to me, and it can be toxic to someone who is closeted and has homophobic parents/gaurdians
Thanks! My dad "suddenly" turned gay after 23 years of marriage and 7 kids. He was so over the top (gaining an accent, gay movies/stars, flashing pics of men kissing at an 8year old's birthday) it made me sick. I had to analyze was it the homosexual part (theiving and lying boyfriends), or just him. It was him... turns out I wasn't homophobic at all.
Load More Replies...Children-having them or not. Making everything about either is just annoying. You love your kids? Me, too! But I have a whole bunch of other things! And no one cares if you don't want to have kids. After an hour with you talking about how you don't have kids, we all agreed you shouldn't have them. Don't tell people their life is less because they do or do not have children (whichever matches your narrow view of the world).
If one person agreed with all 35 of these they'd probably be the most bitter m**o on Earth.
Most of these are phases that I went through during ages 13-23 approximately. Lol Most of us act pretty insufferable at least a few times throughout our lives.
They also forgot people.who treat owning or liking dogs as a literal lifestyle.
“Become who you are. Make what only you can make.” — Friedrich Nietzsche
I think you are confusing interest with personality. Personalities are more than your interest.
Add this to the list: complaining about people's life choices, passions, personalities etc.
So... You can't be what you want to be. This list is toxic. People who contribute to crap like this are usually guilty of the thing they're trying to vilify.
I know, this list made me pretty sad. People just want to find a place to belong. I don’t particularly care about any of this stuff but it makes me paranoid to care about anything.
Load More Replies...Anyone who gives off the perception they only have one dimension is going to come across as boring, I don't think it makes that much a difference what that one dimension is about, only that they don't have more than one of them.
I hate it when people also make their mental illnesses their personalities, or have a vague symptom of one and immediately jump to conclusions and make THAT their personality
There is also "guns/hunting". Some people just looooove to talk about killing machines and killing stuff. ugh.
theres also prepping, which our father is guilty of but is infact cutting down on it

I love japanese culture but not ninjas, samurai, swords ect. I love edo period art , poetry , architecture , folklore and shinto. But say I'm into Japan and the immediate assumption is the stereotypical otaku loser clichés
People with fursonas have a similar problem. Most folks seem to think that being a furry equals being a sexually active deviant. A lot of furries would prefer sexuality to not be part of the culture at all. Similar goes for some Christian's and vegetarians; they keep it to themselves because otherwise people make negative assumptions about them, based on the noisiest and judgiest. It sucks when you have to hide your likes and interests and beliefs because others make negative assumptions about you.

Now i'm a little guilty of this, as when i first found our system, we would tell everyone, but after a while it get really hard to life with voices in your head (106 for us). Same thing with tourettes fakers, as us being clinically diagnosed, it is really heartbreaking to see these little kids do it for attention.
Absolutely!! One thing I find even worse is when they self-diagnose because they think they show symptoms for certain illnesses just to justify their actions... It just makes me so angry to see people acting as if it is "trendy" to have a mental illness because they don't talk about the negative effects it can have on somebody's life

No way, sick people don't have much of personality other than being sick when they basically can't do anything? So shocking, so weird! Most of my interests have faded away because I can't pursue them, I live in constant pain which messed up my mind. When people talk about things they're doing, I have nothing to say, my train left long ago leaving me behind.
I don't think I embody any of these things. Except that maybe people in Manhattan should realize they are in a state, not a, state
Ok, but in the title should be "some Americans" or "sime americanized west Europeans", because this has nothing ti do with "people" of this world.
One biggy not on the list is: Getting ones life information from Facebook only; never reading books, studies, experiencing life by experiencing it directly......
Or Vegan/Vegetarians-or they insist on calling Vegetarian foods 'bacon/hamburgers/sausages etc.. then of course the Oat/almond/rice "milk". It's NOT MILK! Just like people that buy those horrible dessert looking drinks from Starbucks and argue that's its their 'coffee'. No,.it's a dessert and most don't even contain coffee. Then of course gluten/dairy free cakes etc. They are not cakes by definition-no flour, eggs, sugar, milk.. Just because you shape something like a cake, doesn't mean it's a cake. By that definition every sandcastle would technically be a cake..amongst other things
So uh, a hot dog is a dog, right? And baby back ribs are from... babies? Right? Don't be a twat. They shoulda put triggered meat eaters on this list. You all sure are miserable. Don't worry your bacon or steak will be along shortly.

A lot of "horse girls" and "Disney adults" fall into this category. In my teens & early 20s I got made fun of A LOT for my hyperfixation. It really screwed up my self esteem.
I thought religion would be on this list for sure. I'm begging all of you...instead of constantly talking and posting about it just show us...by being a good and loving person.
you forgot audiophiles, high def video enthusiasts, sports/esports, orthorexics/vegans, bicyclists, BDSM carnies, folks who mistake gender/sexuality for personality and tattoo/piercing attention-whores. also i always use this old saying; "if you have to make yourself SEEM interesting, you aren't."
Based on your other comments as well as upvoting sexist, anti-LGBT comments on other bored panda pages, it sure looks like your dominant personality trait is misogyny & hating equality. Sad.

i’m sorry if this sounds offensive, because it’s not supposed to be and im bi myself, but, being lgbtq. i get that you should have pride in who you are, but making ur whole personality about being gay is really annoying to me, and it can be toxic to someone who is closeted and has homophobic parents/gaurdians

I hate it when people also make their mental illnesses their personalities, or have a vague symptom of one and immediately jump to conclusions and make THAT their personality
There is also "guns/hunting". Some people just looooove to talk about killing machines and killing stuff. ugh.
