I designed a plywood form to create the initial column. Once it ‘sets’ in the form, I take the form off and start carving!

Share on FacebookYour neighbours must love you, would be really great to have this in my street :) I would like to suggest to change your photography, the HDR shots and high contrast make some of the statues look really fake. The Jimmy photo is by far my favourite because it just looks the most natural.
Thank you for your comment Arjan. I've been thinking about this issue. Your comment confirms my concerns about over filtering...
Load More Replies...This is amazingly creative stuff. Well done! It makes me want to try this, except for the fact that I can't stand snow...
I don't know but pictures look so fake. But not sure about sculptures. They are cool.
Ok that confirms that I should use less filtering on the photos. Thanks for the feedback.
Load More Replies...You are correct. Shovel. Hard work! Fluffy snow is better. I pack it in and leave it for an hour. Takes less than a 1/2 hour to load it.
Load More Replies...This looks kinda photoshopped, but if it's not then they did a good job.
I have learned that I'm using too many filters. Next year more natural. Thanks.
Load More Replies...You need to recreate the snowmen from the Calvin and Hobbes series. :) These are fantastic!
