I designed a plywood form to create the initial column. Once it ‘sets’ in the form, I take the form off and start carving!

I make 8' tall snow sculptures in my front yard usually with non-packing snow! I live in Waterloo, Ontario. But only after a good snowfall. Later they melt away.

Your neighbours must love you, would be really great to have this in my street :) I would like to suggest to change your photography, the HDR shots and high contrast make some of the statues look really fake. The Jimmy photo is by far my favourite because it just looks the most natural.

This is amazingly creative stuff. Well done! It makes me want to try this, except for the fact that I can't stand snow...

I don't know but pictures look so fake. But not sure about sculptures. They are cool.

Ok that confirms that I should use less filtering on the photos. Thanks for the feedback.

You are correct. Shovel. Hard work! Fluffy snow is better. I pack it in and leave it for an hour. Takes less than a 1/2 hour to load it.

This looks kinda photoshopped, but if it's not then they did a good job.
