I Discover Hidden Parallel Worlds In Puddles And Other Reflections On My Smartphone (30 Pics)
Playing with perspective is a game I like to play. With my Instagram, I love to share photos I take with my phone. I wanted to share with you the beauty of Madrid through different reflections (many puddles) of many beautiful spots in the city.
I always like to put emphasis on the importance that you don’t need a professional camera, editing programs, or Photoshop to take a pleasant photo. With the simple use of a smartphone, one can take a beautiful picture that tells its own story.
Instagram is the only platform/app that I use to edit my photos. I enjoy playing with puddles, reflections, and different perspectives when taking photos. Hope you enjoy it!
You can check out pictures I took in different cities here, here, here, and here.

The reflection is a little darker which makes it look like a parallel universe… and I love it
It all started when I was standing on the street waiting to cross when I noticed a puddle right below me with the reflection of a cloud, and I had the curiosity to see what would happen if I put my camera close to the puddle and capture its hidden parallel world.
The reflections, parallels, and alternative perspectives are a world of mystery that sparks creativity. Much like in the movie Inception, a dream within a dream, a photo of a reflection or any reflection at all is a world within a world. Reflections are everywhere, but it's not until you really look for them and find them, you experience the many interpretations they can have when observed.
I have been into photography for 9 years. Started getting into it thanks to Instagram when I created my account in 2012. Before I always liked taking pictures, but it wasn’t until Instagram that allowed me to have the opportunity to share them.
I would not say inferior to DSLR cameras and such. It's a well-known fact that the newer phones have extremely good built-in cameras in them and you can see the cameras are the main focus when a new phone is launched. Smartphone photography is hands down more convenient for traveling as well as when it comes down to editing photos.
My Instagram page has very much been primarily focused on architecture, however, my interest in street photography, interior design and lifestyle photography is also growing and I am enjoying exploring these new aspects. My Instagram community has grown quite a bit. I have been receiving many positive comments about my photography, which constantly gives me energy to continue what I love doing, travelling and capturing what I see.
I have quite a few new projects coming up. During our first lockdown, the idea of creating an online store sparked and since then, I have created my store and have been selling prints all over Europe and just these past 6 months I have finally been able to broaden and now have international shipping of my photos as prints on high-quality photographic paper. This is a personal project that has made me immensely grateful to have people find a place in their homes to put one of my photos that they find their own value and connection with them. Whether it's a city they lived or currently live in, whether it's their favourite monument or simply a photo that brings them great memories.
The second project is tied to my online store where I have decided that once a month, I will try and fly out to a new city/town in order to discover new places, new cultures, new foods, and be able to capture that and continue to share it with on my social media. I also like to share a type of "series" on my Instagram of places I visit. A series of up to 10 photos in which I attempt to summarize the essence of the destination I am in.
Instagram is slowly converting my hobby into my dream job. Having clients such as hotel chains, luxury name brands, airlines, and other people recognize my work and wanting to collaborate with me is a gift as it allows me to continue what I love to do most, travel, observe, capture, and share.

Love these pics! @OP, do you know if many of these were done with zoom lenses? Seems rare there’s enough water to do good shots like this…zoom would help I’m guessing?
