When you move into a new house, there are so many things to think about. It can be overwhelming and usually people start from the things that are essential that they cannot live without in their day-to-day lives. So, some things are kind of forgotten, for example, putting up your house number for the postman to see.

However, this seemingly small detail mustn’t be ignored as it can lead to some serious consequences. TikTok user @_jesshopehuse, also known as Jessica Huseman, recently posted her front door camera footage of an Amazon delivery woman who cheerfully sang a song about how the house didn’t have numbers and it was difficult to find it, but it’s not only that.

The video was posted about a week ago by Jessica Huseman and it was viewed by 3.7 million people. Over 900k people liked this footage of an Amazon driver seemingly in high spirits singing an improvised song about the house not having numbers, which made it more difficult to find where to go. It was quite obvious she wasn’t too annoyed, just informing the owner about a fact she noticed.

The driver really meant well as she then continued to explain that not having your house number visible can be quite dangerous. For example, if you called the paramedics and they weren’t familiar with the area, they possibly may not find you or may arrive too late.

Bored Panda got in touch with the Amazon driver whose name is Kelsey and she is Texan by choice. She studied psychology in Pittsburg State University and then continued her studies and got her masters degree and higher education administration from Texas Tech University. She started working at Amazon Flex in April after she lost her job at Texas Tech University.

Firstly, the Amazon driver greeted the house owner in a cheerful singing manner and sang out that the house didn’t have numbers so it was hard to find

In a later video the house owner explains that the package was for the former owner of the house, Jennifer, who apparently didn’t have her house numbers put on. The new owner of the house and the woman who posted the video on TikTok, Jessica, wrote in the caption: “We just moved in and this happened today… she’s not wrong though. Guess I need to get some house numbers.”

Kelsey told us how she got to know she went viral on TikTok. It was actually her friend Louis who let her know that her face is all over TikTok. The friend was told by his wife and that is how it went back to Kelsey.

Secondly, she explained that it is dangerous to not have house numbers because people like paramedics may not find the address

The Amazon driver Kelsey created her own TikTok account and promised to give more safety advice

In an update video, Jessica informed the viewers that she did indeed buy mailbox stickers and house numbers, and she is also planning on painting the number on her driveway. What is more, she drew attention to the fact that the Amazon delivery driver created a TikTok account.

She addressed the video that she made go viral because of her personality and advice. Kelsey was saying in that video that crisis management and prevention education are very close and dear to her heart as she worked in Residency Life and Student Affairs. She also told us, “I’ve been a safety queen for as long as I can remember, and teach about bystander intervention, and other taboo subjects based in public health Theory.”

One of them was to keep the paths to the house clear so that it’s easy to access in case of emergency

We asked her what was her reaction when she first saw it and turns out she was laughing really hard, because she said she knew that someday she will be recorded by someone’s camera and maybe end up on TikTok. She will always say hello to the cameras, especially when they light up. Kelsey also added, “To see the video was cool, to see the video was wild.”

A lot of people had something to say about her outfit and her figure, but Kelsey says that it’s cool that 4 million people saw her tummy because she loves it enough to not care about the comments. however, it is mind-blowing to think that more people on TikTok left feedback on her job than she received from Amazon itself.

Kelsey promised to keep the tips about preventing dangerous situations from happening coming on her TikTok page. People in the comments of both Jessica’s and Kelsey’s videos were loving the energy the woman gives out and how caring she is.

You can hear Kelsey singing in the video below

Kelsey also revealed to us that she got in contact with the current house owner who posted the video, “She is amazing. Her and I have been collaborating on the reach of this video. I’ve also been so blessed that she has been working with me and considering me through this process. She is an extremely talented photographer near the city I live!”

But what do you think of the video and of the tip that Kelsey gave? Did it make you remember that you too need to put up your house numbers? Maybe you have experience of not having any and that created an unpleasant situation? Leave us your reactions and any thoughts about the video in the comments!

HMMMM does the entire neighborhood not have numbers on the houses? Because I know when I was a delivery driver for furniture it would be a pain in the ass finding the right house. ONLY when the houses had just been built and numbers hadnt been put on yet. EMS would use GPS and see the houses on either side and deduce that the one in the middle can only be a specific number. Odd numbers on one side even on the other. And

We actually didn't have house numbers on a previous house for... oh... around 1 week after we moved in. Why? Because the previous owners had *taken the house numbers down*. They'd also *ripped out the doorbell* (which we later found thrown in the backyard along with the other trash they left). I wish I was joking. They gave some bs that it had been 'personalized' (it hadn't, and even if it had, they couldn't exactly use that number at their next house). They were huge jerks and screwed us over in other ways as well. We had to slap up a hunk of cardboard with the house number written on it so that utilities people and letter carriers could find us, until we could actually find time to go buy new ones and put them up.

I think the local council (I'm in the UK) would have something to say if I spray painted my house number on the pavement/kerb!

It's pretty common practice in the US. I have a plaque on my house with the numbers, but it's partially blocked by a tree. Once every few years a guy will come around and offer to repaint the curb / kerb numbers with a black background and reflective paint for $10. It's handy.
