I was the only white kid on my high school basketball team (and my last name is Black 😁) so I was nicknamed TOKEN.

A classmate used to be called nacho because I made a typo of the first part of his surname. I am called Chimm because everybody felt like my name is too long and i agree

I desperately wanted a nickname when I was a kid, but the only one I ever got was "Twitchy", because I fidgeted a lot. I hated it because it was given to me by the bullies who would yell it at me as a taunt. (Turns out I have Aspergers and the fidgeting in question was stimming).

Guy at school was called Wayne because his surname was "Kerr" (it was years before I found out his real first name was Matt)

I’m known mainly as just Gremlin throughout my friends the nickname started from “Emlin Gremlin” (my name is Emmalene) I am also called Em by every single one of my friends parents

My mom's sister (my aunt's) name is Gretchen and when they were in elementary school there was another kid with a really bad speech impediment and couldn't pronounce her name so he ended up calling her Richard. So throughout her entire life her nickname was always Richard. Even now in her 60's we sometimes refer to her as auntie Richard. Lol

I was dubbed "frog" in high school because I would flail my arms about when I cheered during sporting events and such. And I was also a big Muppets fan.

My dad owned a fast food restaurant in our home town. My best friend was from Puerto Rico and didn't speak any English. Instead of using the spanish version of my name he called me "Hamburger Boy." I was friends with him for seven years and for seven years I was "Hamburger Boy." I'm friends with his sister on Instagram now and she said a few years back when I got back in touch with her brother briefly her dad was so happy to hear that "Hamburger Boy" had done well in life. In training school in the Army, this one girl had a really long Russian last name with like one consonant. We called her Alphabet. She said it was her favorite nick name ever.

We call me friend squishy because when we were playing tag a few Halloweens ago, he accidentally grabbed my boob when trying to tag me. He meant to say sorry but he was all flustered and he was just like “uh, squishy”

Had 2 male friends who both were best friends and looked a lot alike. Both their names are Charlie and both their last names start with G! One of the Charlie’s had a girlfriend called sophia so we called him “Sophias Charlie” and the other ones last name is godbert and we call him goddo. Good times

A drunk guy called me Krandi once instead of Kandi (Im a bartender so Im always around drunk dudes) and a couple of my coworkers heard it and decided it was short for "Krandall". I was Krandall for the rest of the time I worked there. Even in serious situations all my coworkers and the owner of the bar would call me Krandall with a completely straight face.

Before social media, loads of people in the sticks referred to themselves by their CB handle. Yeah. I'm that old.

My Nick name is hoochi mama. One night at the beach with girlfriends were walking down the strip and my shoe broke. So we go back to my gfs car she has these super sexy lace up sandal boots so I switch them on and continue our walk. The whole way down men are hanging out of their car windows yling "hoooooochi mama!!" And it stuck my friends called me that for YEARS

Was called Fry from grade school through til senior year. Was my last name. No one called me by my first name. Not even teachers. I got so fed up I wouldn't answer them until they used my first name finally. Then I was Mad because I happened to get so mad about it. Then Mad Mar like mad max. And so I am.

My best friend growing up nickname was deedle dorf. Her grandfather gave everyone of the grandkids nicknames. Her brother was yeep, her cousin was smoother. Even her mom had one, it was rooie. Because I was practically with her constantly, I was not left out and I'm carlyboo.

I’m jealous, I just got called by the nickname that actually comes from my name (not yort). And usually one-time random first names that sound decreasingly like my real name. Like if my real name was Yortina, my nickname is Yort, I’d get called Yortino, Yortinia, Yart, Yandrea, Yalice, Michelob, Mercado. That kind of thing where some of the wrong names aren’t remotely close. I’m jealous of these people who got cool nicknames,.

A guy I went to college wirgor back diarrhea at preseason football his freshman year. He spent the next four years being called "Shitz"

There was a kid named Eoghan in my grade, (pronounced Owen) and he got the nickname "Chubbs." It's not fat-shaming, he got the name because we were reading a play script in ELA class (A Christmas Carol) and he got the role of "The fat man." My ELA teacher gave the nickname to him and it has stuck ever since.

There was a kid who rode my bus in school. There was a sign outside his house advertising worms and nightcrawlers. He was called Worm for as long as I knew him.

One time when I was in high school a few of us bought these t-shirts with stupid sayings on them. Mine said "I used to be Snow White...then I drifted". They started calling me Snow Black after that.

For reasons no one can remember, I started called my best friend's dad "Pops" and he called me "Tom Slick." 45 years later we still call each other by those names. Side note: I'm female. Lol

Met a guy back in college. His nickname was OD. Wonder why.

I was really tiny most of my childhood. distinctly remember in 3rd grade when a boy held up a tiny chip of wood and said "we're going to call you woodchip, because you're as small as this piece of wood." My dad still calls me Woodchip.

I called my friend “blonde kid” for the first semester of school before he told me his name there’s also “emo kid” who’s real name I still don’t know. He actually wasn’t emo so his friend started calling me “blondie” I started calling him “brownie” like the dessert XD. My youngest son has been known as Butch his entire life. Got the name because his older brothers couldn't call him dumb b***h like their dad called a dog we had. He tried to say it when he was about 18 months old and it came out dumb butch and stuck. Most of the people he knows don't know his real name and he's in his 40's now

I want to school with a guy who was nicknamed Sup. His name was Clark. Clark Kent, Superman, shorten it to Sup. So strange to think of it now.

We used to call a lad Super Ted, because his best mate who he was always with was very Spotty.

I know a Gay Dave. His name is not Dave, nor is he gay. He got called Dave after Trig in Only Fools and horses and thought if he acted camp he could get closer to the ladies before making a move. Turned out it stuck and he tried to change it to disco Dave in the hope it would improve his chances!
