5 Short Horror Stories That Will Terrify You In Just 2 Sentences

Halloween is not the only occasion for scary stories, and if horror movies aren’t enough for you, we’ve got some creepy drawings that might just cater to your spine-chilling needs.

New York-based artist and CollegeHumor head illustrator Jacob Andrews has plucked some of the eeriest two-sentence horror stories from the depths of Reddit and turned them into a short series of chilling comics. Unwelcome intruders, texts from the afterlife, and dug-up bones are just a few of the themes that haunt each panel, and it’s impressive how these short horror stories manage to unsettle the reader in so few frames.

Scroll down to be spooked and get your dose of the good old-fashioned scary stories to tell in the dark. If you’re still not shaken senseless, check out more bit-sized horror stories here.

I thought that was scariest, because my late wife and I were the only ones on our family plan, and her phone is still in the dresser drawer.

Mobile one happened to me... a year after my dad died, my phone rang and caller id said "Dad"... my heart stopped. Turned out it was my brother who found the sim card and called to tell me he will be using the number in future.

Rang my mum off a family business office line she had saved as my late sister's (who used it often) about a year after my sister's passing on. I can not explain what that did to her.

They have passed the "deepest" point of the ocean. Let your imagination take that further.

#2 made me laugh only because my mother just told me today that my little brother asked her where one of her long time friends worked. My mother responded back telling him that she died 2 years ago, and my brother responded back saying thats weird i just talked to her on the phone.

The problem is not with talking to the dead, the problem is when they answer (or check their messages). ;)

Think about where they are now. They know that there are so-and-so many km of water, and then there is/should be the ocean floor. They are 3 km deeper down than that well known number.

Here's one: I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me, “Daddy check for monsters under my bed.” I look underneath for his amusement and see him, another him, under the bed, staring back at me quivering and whispering, “Daddy there’s somebody on my bed.”

they didn't kill the neighbors dog in self defense, they killed it because it was good at digging up bones, probably from people that they've murdered and buried? at least that's how I understand it c:

#2 is where they sent a text to someone who died and the message was seen, by who, we don't know (they are implying that the dead person saw it) #4 is saying that they have gone PAST what they previously believed was the bottom of the ocean

For those who might have read the mobile one and thought like I did. The first picture is a person sending a text to someone they lost. Then it says Seen as if their ghost saw the text. For some reason, I read it as someone sending me a text as though I was dead.
