This is true. Back in high school, one of my teachers told the story of her cousin having to go to her house to pick something up that she had forgotten. Her cat attacked her cousin and gave her 26 stitches. When she came home, all she found was blood on the floor and walls. She also said she would never do that to another pet. She didn't realize what declawing entailed. This was about 8 to 9 years ago.

As a chinese indonesian, please stop blaming yourself because you're chinese. The racism here in my country is so severe and by apologize you're confirming that chinese people is the problem and actually advancing the stereotype. I feel like asian people always being self-aware of their portrayal in western world to gain self respect and self capacity. in this racial case we have to stop pitting against each other and actually stood up for other asian and other minority as well. While instead of saying sorry, maybe start to support the anti animal abuse. You don't have to say sorry for your race because some people who happens to have the same race as you were consuming wild animals. Don't tolerate racism when people treat you like a virus, that's not normal and worse than the virus itself. I heard that in Italy, the racism towards asian people (no matter if you're vietnamese or korean, etc etc) is really bad when the virus is spreading, and even in america, some asian are getting harassed. Before the virus outbreak, the chinese who speaks fluent italian don't want to identify themselves as chinese and while a fellow chinese ask them the route in chinese, they answer in italian because they think chinese who can't speak italian are in lower class, that's an internal racism. I'm wondering what those racist chinese are up to now, when the racism is getting severe, but that's the consequence when you put your self-validation to white people. That's my whole speech. Not all cultures see dogs as pets. Some who are very poor see dogs as a means to staying alive. A form of protein. Sustenance. When it is taken away by "dogooders" are these "dogooders" ready to step in and supply an alternative protein source?

And "retirement" often means euthanasia...
