It would be interesting if someone made a post about the "perfect" male body through the decades. There seems to be a lot more posts and information about the female body. Could it be because females are constantly being objectified and scrutinised more closely than males?

I guess I"m in the small minority that goes for hearts not parts. I can appreciate a nice body, but someone kind hearted is sexy imo

I don't believe in trends. We should be alive to look how we want and choose our own body style without the media judging us.

This list is a mess. Some models on this list were only popular for their figure on the fashion catwalk. Other were mainstream popular. And some only with some minority groups. The title should be "What SOME people found pretty in some year bracket". Still a useless list then but at least it's honest.

Just FYI... Kim Kardashian's butt isn't my ideal nor anybody's I know. She's just a manic self-publicist. Might as well pick Scarlett Johansen or Gal Gadot or Emilia Clarke. They're more in line with what people are considering ideal.

This would be far more interesting if it stretched the feminine ideal over millennia not just a century. That way diet and women's roles in society would be highly relevant too, as would practical stuff like climate differences to now and if indeed there was ready access to clothing for element protection and attraction/fashion?

This year, '24 in the Sturgis Bike meet, the girls was showing too much. with some everything was bare except a cloth triangle over the taco bush and a round patches over the nipples. "That is just too much woman during day-lite sidewalk hours".

The Twiggy trends from the sixties are horrible. The peer pressure heaped on women by other women to be skinny is shameful bordering on criminal. Real men will agree that scrawny IS NOT sexy. Sickly-looking Twiggys are used by fashion designers who want a live body that is barely a step up from metal hangers to showcase clothes. Clothes shown on a runway are exaggerated to demonstrate a feature or style trend & are often bizarre. Similarly, the super thin nearly anorexic bodies are exaggerations and are painful to watch. The featured clothes are not meant to be a finished product that will appear in stores. They are over-the-top examples of elements of trends. Likewise, the models are merely flesh-bearing coathangers. Models may be nice people but they usually are not attractive or seen as cuddly potential love partners. In a scenario where several girls with bodies ranging from twiggy thin to 2x sizes, go to a beach, a bar, or a party; the larger girls will always garner more attention, conversation & love interest from men!

It would be a good idea for women to quit objectifying themselves. All these celebrities and bloggers constantly post posed semi-nude pictures of their surgically enhanced bodies. And the public including women eats this stuff up.

Why all this obsession with female bodies. Why not a similar article on the male body.

Perfect female body is a myth, toxic as plastic. Every body is unique and should be treated like that. Women need to care more about themselves rather then follow someone else opinions.

When you take the body and add the personality then a decision can be made. Unfortunately some have the wrong body combined with the wrong personality. One of the aforementioned being a KarKrashian.

I agree. True beauty springs forth from the mind's heart & their character. My late wife may not have been gorgeous to most because of the facial expressions she portrayed (due to not being able to articulate words as a result of having GA1) but she could really shine when she was happy & excited about something or someone. Her mind was capable of deep thoughts, while her motor skills & ability to speak was severely affected.

Kim Kardashian was good looking when she was 19-20. After that it went downhill very fast.

This is very interesting and a super learning tool. What if today's most gorgeous faces were photoshopped onto some of the body images from the past. What would the reaction be. In the seventies, I wanted Farrah Fawcett's slim hips. If I could have only known that Kim Kardashian could make me feel good about myself years after I had already made peace with my body.
