“That’s It, I’m Hair Shaming”: 50 Times People Couldn’t Hold Back From Roasting Tragic Haircuts
Anton Chekhov wrote that love, friendship and respect do not unite people as much as a common hatred for something. And the Facebook group 'That's it, I'm hair shaming' is an excellent example of that.
With the sole mission of mocking the worst hairstyles, the online community has already attracted 110,200 people to become its members, and the number continues to grow.
Plus, these folks even switch things up, and after exchanging shame-worthy content on Monday-Saturday, they devote Sunday to compliments and praises. That being said, this time, let's focus on the juicy stuff.

But…. Why??? That Is So Dangerous!! Danger Hair Shaming. Is That A Thing??
The Back Caught Me Off Guard
There are many reasons why you may leave the hairdresser's chair with an underwhelming desired cut.
"Finding the right stylist is hard. Not only do you need to find [one] who is technically skilled, but you also need to find a stylist with a personality that you mesh with," Shannon Bowen, designer at Pump Salon told INSIDER.
"Instagram is a great resource. Look for stylists in your area … you can get a sense of their style and determine if they would be a good fit for you."

maybe don't do this... ever (though the red and white I kinda like)
When you finally get to the salon, the conversation between you and your hairstylist should be a dynamic one where you both ask appropriate and thorough questions. If you don't allow yourself the opportunity to participate, you leave room for miscommunication, which can ultimately prevent you from getting the cut you want.
"Before booking your hair appointment, make sure you know what you want," stylist Chanel Mattingly also told INSIDER. "If you're unsure, you probably won't be happy with the end result."

He Thought This Was Cute
Oh, Wow
at first I thought it looked pretty good.never in life have I been so wrong
Am Not Shaming The Content Of This Tik Tok Or What They Are Talking About, But Slapping A Few Clair’s Hair Extensions Onto Your Bald Head Is A Choice
Mattingly recommended being prepared with a handful of questions to ask your stylist before sitting in the chair, such as, "Will this cut work with my hair type?" or "Will I have to style my hair every day to achieve this look?" or "Will the cut work if I wear my hair up or down?"
It's important to consider your daily life and personal styling routine before diving into a cut you think you fell in love with. Although it may look cute on your Pinterest board, you have to make sure it's a cut you can work within your daily life.

Like.... What?! How Do You Even Go About Asking For Something Like This
Mattingly said she often experiences miscommunication with clients when they do not explain what look they would like to go for — whether that's through words or inspiration photos.
However, even though inspiration photos can be an ideal reference point and communication tool, sometimes they can bring about more confusion than assistance. "Sometimes each photo is completely different from the others, but the client doesn't realize," Mattingly explained. Of course, the differences may not be easily detectable by someone who doesn't have experience cutting hair. So keep in mind that if you want your haircut to closely reflect the images you bring to your stylist, you have to take into account hair texture, color, face shape, and other factors.

Half Bald, Half Not
"As a stylist, I will try to relay back to them their explanation and see if I got it correctly. If I didn't, I will have them explain once more and relay it back again until we get it right," she said.
Haircuts and hairstyles aren't one-size-fits-all, and that's something that's hard for many to grasp. "If the client has a cowlick or thin hair and they want bangs like Zooey Deschanel, it's not going to happen," Mattingly said. "There are haircuts that work best for different face shapes, hair textures, and thickness.

As with so many things, when it comes to haircuts, what you pay is often what you get. Anyone would love for it to cost $5, but what are you getting in comparison to a $35-plus service?
Once the hair is cut, it won't grow back for a while, so you're investing not only money, but also time, and it's only natural that talented and skilled salon or stylist costs more.

"Another thing that I think is important is finding a salon with a continuing education program," Bowen added. "Cosmetology school teaches stylists the very basics. When you pick a salon that has an intern or apprentice program, you know that your stylist received further education after receiving their license."

Went On Amazon To Look For A New Clipper Set.... Why Would They Do This To Someone's Hairline
I hate these kinds of things on BP. I feel like it's laughing at people, mocking people, looking down on people and judging people. Their hair is not hurting you. Worry about your own hair!
What happened to BP? It used to be a forum where people trying something stylistically different were celebrated, not derided. A toilet in the middle of the living room, or a building with a post in front door, yes, stupid. But mocking hairstyles? BP has lost its way.
Load More Replies...Some of these are not terrible. If they wanted the hair color and they think it looks good then I don’t judge
This one seems rather judgy - most I wouldn't do for myself but hey, it's hair it grows back, people are just having fun and trying to be creative. Also, I think a fair few are people trying to give themselves cuts that didn't quite work out the way they wanted
No one deserves to be mocked for their appearance or for how they choose to present themselves. This is not in the spirit of fun if the submissions at not from the person being photographed. What deserves to be shamed is this cruelty for content.
The good thing about most posts is that they obviously don't give a flying turd what anyone else thinks. That can be a very good thing, fashion-wise.
While many will say it's horrible o judge, iI am sorry but we do it subconsciously within seconds, without even knowing we did it. If you go through life never hearing what we think, you will keep going in blind wondering why you didn't get that job, why no one trusts you ect. Stereotypes also exist for a reason, it's because most times you can judge a book by its cover..you just can't always. That's what a stereotype is something that says hey most of us are like this but be careful some people coop the look so not all. So this tells you what looks good to others and what does not and if you want to make it in life happy then you will care what others think and you will choose a stereotype to mimic that gets the best results for you. Otherwise be judge as judging is mostly done right and is common sense to exclude those people as you know they don't fit.
I feel like many of these have been taken out of context. Pretty sure some people here even had cancer and the post was a joke. Actually of course most of these were jokes
The thing to remember, when you see a weird style buzzed into someone's undercut with a big ponytail/bun up top, is it's probably meant to be a peek-a-boo style. They're showing off in the salon chair but once the ponytail comes out you won't be able to tell it's anything but a normal cut.
This is the second post in as many months of "hair shaming". How disappointing, BP! Live and let live, okay? Please stop with this kind of thing because we're all dragged down enough on a daily basis. We don't need this kind of c**p from (what used to be) an excellent website like BP.
I think I always look like this when I visit salon and then wash my hair first time after :D . It looks good only when it is styled.
It is infuriating and painful to see, but honestly not all are bad as long as they like it its fine. But you've got to give the hairdressers some credit.

I just hope the children requested these cuts & had parents who let their children express themselves. Not a child forced by parents to have these cuts.
There are people who deserve to be shamed. But only very, very few, and they tend to be politicians. NOBODY else deserves it. Let us have no more of this mean-spirited nonsense.
