Saturday, on Earth Day, scientists across the globe took to the streets for the 'March For Science'. From software engineers to simply science supporters to even dogs - they all gathered together to celebrate science and the role it plays in our everyday day lives.

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22, and every year various events are held across the globe to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated way back in 1970, and now Earth Day events take place in more than 193 countries across the globe. Below, Bored Panda has put together a list of the best signs on display around the world. They're clever, amusing, and, most importantly, nerdy as ever! Keep on scrolling to check them out, feel free to add your own pics to the list, and don't forget to vote for your favorites.

Many more reasons to vaccinate than not to. The emergence of these diseases — especially measles — is alarming, and mostly due to parents in the U.S. not vaccinating their kids. "If you are unvaccinated and you come in contact with measles, there's a 90% chance you will get . Mumps is back, so is whopping cough & chicken pox.

Although wrestling is staged and scripted, it is still real and taking place. But I know what the sign means.

Wrestling is real and a very ancient sport. Pro-American wrestling style bulshlit for dumbbed down masses isn't.

When we Americans refer to "Wrestling," we tend to mean the fake horrible freak-show (which I believe is actually someones stage name, anyway...). When we refer to Sumo, or Greco/Roman, or any other athletic wrestling style, we tend to use its proper name.

scary but true. I think from what I see that the march was a resounding (!!!) success (pity some won't get it)

Wrestling never claimed to be real. It's a scripted, choreographed show. The level of skills and athleticism is incredible. I didn't care for it myself until i watched Wrestlemania with a friend. I don't follow it but i understand its popularity.

Or as I like to say "Reality has a liberal bias". Of course, this is less relevant in many other countries where the right-wing is less religious and ridiculous, but in the U.S. it's apt.

"Data" is the plural of "datum" which is "something given", in this case information. Anecdotes are data.

What is fake about organic growing practices? Yes, capitalism and woo-thinkers have taken the term and run with it, and yes, it's very hard to grow without being impacted by the chemicals everyone else is dumping into the CLOSED SYSTEM of the Earth's environment. Also: GMO's have legitimate issues (such as monoculture, the greatly expanded use of pesticides they enable growers to put into the environment, and corporate politics). I don't take issue with the product itself; i take issues with what surrounds it and what it encourages, practically, economically, and politically.

"Mitochondria vary in number and location according to cell type. A single mitochondrion is often found in unicellular organisms. Conversely, numerous mitochondria are found in human liver cells, with about 1000–2000 mitochondria per cell, making up 1/5 of the cell volume." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitochondrion
