As someone who loves both Halloween and the television show, Schitt’s Creek, immensely, this year I decided to go all out in putting the two together.
Other than dressing up as the characters from the show, I hadn’t seen much celebration of Schitt’s Creek at Halloween time in years’ past. So I decided to do something about that while decorating my house this year. Taking an old mannequin, some wigs, a skeleton from my Halloween collection, and some costumes from my dress-up bin, I spent a couple of days putting together a few creepy homages to my favorite TV show.

My wife and I dress up as our favorite Roses
First off, who could forget Moira Rose playing Dr. Clara Mandrake from “The Crows Have Eyes 3: The Crowening”? The scientist turned mutant crow was just begging to become a guardian of the tree in my front yard, covered in feathers and displaying her human wings for all to see. She has turned the tree into a “Rose” bush and keeps a watchful eye out because “the crows have eyes and you’d better not look them in it!”

Next up, there are few darker images from the show than the incomparable David Rose during his brief stay with an Amish community, dressed completely in black and holding an antique pitchfork. The only thing that could make him any darker would be for him to be replaced by a skeleton to become my Halloween yard display centerpiece, David Bone (complete with a bug on his dress as pointed out by the young Amish woman on that particular episode).

People have been loving my new Schitt’s Creek themed Halloween decorations, both online among various fan groups and here in my own neighborhood, but I thought that I had to go a bit further in my spooky celebration of the multiple Emmy award-winning show.
You see, while the whole fandom considers the multiple Emmy winning, Schitt’s Creek, to be a masterpiece, I have heard many fans express a wish that there had been a Halloween episode during the show’s six-season run. However, during one of my many rewatches of the series, I noticed that almost every episode of the show has some sort of a macabre or Halloween reference. Vampires, witches, ghosts, and death were mentioned throughout the show. So I decided to get to work and make some Halloween content for the fans.
Using clips from the show, I recreated famous classic Halloween/Horror movie trailers as if they had taken place in our favorite fictional Canadian town, Schitt’s Creek. The fans that I have shown so far have been loving them so I have decided to share them with you. Enjoy and have a “Schitty” Halloween!
