Star quarterback got in a fight with the quiet kid, lost. Quiet kid shattered QB's throwing shoulder.
This happened after I graduated, but there were rumors about it when I was still there. I thought it was just kids being a******s.Three male teachers in one year got caught doing that thing you're not supposed to do with your underage students.
One of them used the following defense: We just kissed and stuff, I waited until she was 18 to have sex with her, so I didn't break the law. The other one used *his school- issued laptop* to contact his victim and beg her not to tell the truth, because it would ruin his livelihood and his kids' lives.
During the aftermath, another teacher came into his classroom and said something to the effect of "If you're wondering why I was absent yesterday, I was being questioned by a few guys in suits." One of the kids asked why, and the teacher pointed right at the victim and said "because of her." Yeah, he pointed her out in front of everyone (supposedly no one knew which girls were involved) and got charged with witness intimidation. His lawyer told the news "hurting someone's feelings isn't a crime."
It used to be considered the "good" school district.
It was discovered that my high school principal was having an inappropriate sexual relationship with one of the students. He was married and his son was also a student at the school which made matters way worse. The principal was arrested and released on bail, but he ended up committing suicide. It was traumatic for the students because we’d always known him as a kind man and respected principal. I felt horrible for his son, who moved away shortly thereafter to escape this nightmare. I wish it was more of a lighthearted incident.
White tells us that negative events have the tendency to be remembered more than positive ones because of the emotion involved. "For example, if you are in a car accident, 10 years later you will be able to give all the details of the accident, from the time of day to the location, without hesitation," he says.
"But you couldn't tell me where you drove last week. Last week had no emotion or action. The car accident does. Another example of emotion impacting what we recall is that humans can get 100 positive comments about something they did, but the brain will focus on the negative because it hurts, it wounds us, and because the negative hurts us more than the positive uplifts us, we will remember it more."
13 year old classmate was secretly pregnant & had a baby in 8th grade. We all found out because the principal & vice principal came into our classroom & announced it to the entire class. They didn’t use her name, but it was pretty easy to put 2 & 2 together.
Years later I ran into the girl & we talked briefly about what had happened. She told me her mom had just about sued the daylights out of the school admin for what they had done. Never found out what stopped her from suing.
Yeah. In my middle school, a couple years before I got there a group of eighth grade boys cornered and r*ped a developmentally disabled 7th grader in the creepy science stairs. There are now a lot of cameras there.
Load More Replies...When I was in "école élémentaire" (6 yo to ~10yo in France) one of the oldest girl got pregnant (she gave birth just before her 12th birthday). It was made very public because the headmaster was bashed by the mother for warning social services and the Police even though it "wasn't his business" and "health is supposed to be secret" or something like that. She made her scene at the end of the day when all the kids are given back to their parents, so a lot of public, maybe trying to get sympathy from other parents. IDK. It didn't work very well and parents were even mad at her for having to explain the situation to their own children. Soon after that we discovered that the reason mommy was pissed is that she knew her new husband was the father and didn't want the Police to get him in jail (priorities...). He was arrested and the girl taken away from that wonderful mother.
A friend and I walked into the bathroom at school. She went into one stall and I went into the one beside. She screamed, "There's a baby in the commode!" We went immediately to the counselor to tell her. We waited in the hallway on a bench as the counselor went into the bathroom to check if that's really what my friend saw. She came back out crying. Later we watched the police carry out a small closed box with the deceased baby in it. That was in 1976. I'm 65yo now and still so thankful that I was too scared to look in that toilet. The baby was delivered by a girl in our class who came from a very poor, uneducated family. The baby's father was the girls own father.
I was at school in the 60's. A 13 year old in my class was 'going out' with a 13 year old boy. All through the summer she got fatter and fatter, and then left just before the summer exams. It was only later that we actually *realised*. Sweet summer children.
I knew someone that had a baby in middle school to. And it was also the 8th grade. It was kind of sad really cause she was so young. And she didn't have anyone. She was already living with different people and everything. And she was so young.
Bear with me, this is a long story. So I went to a charter school that would add on a grade of high school with every school years. When it opened I was in 6th grade. So when I was in 8th grade, a rumor was spread like a so quickly. The rumor was that a 7th grader did the deed with a 10th grader. It turned out to be true. Their punishment was only a few days of out of school suspension. I for sure thought that they were expelled. Nevertheless, their lives were ruined for that.
Probably couldn't afford a lawyer. Even if it is an open and shut case, lawyers still going to require a retainer. Plus at 13, very young, likely an investigation by CPS may have occurred.
What stopped the lawsuit? It ain't just about cops; jurors don't like to hand out taxpayers' money for the misdeeds of government officials.
Same thing happened in my school back in the early 90s. She had to quit school because of medical complications (because she was so young and "underdeveloped" surgeons had to break her very narrow pelvis to allow the pregnancy to continue, so strict bed rest.) The school provided a tutor to allow her to continue her education and she returned after a couple years. Her kid started kindergarten the same year she graduated.
Explain this one before but f**k it... Holiday season of 2003 Someone hacked into the intercom and played p*rn parodies version of Christmas tunes. It caused a lot of students to be sent to the nurse's office, mostly for breathing problems from laughing hard. It turned out, it was rather easy to due into the intercom system because of the wiring system was a standard phonelines. Me and a couple of mates found who was the ring leader, but we didn't snitch because we thought it was one of the funniest things we had to handle. That ring leader now works for some IT company and saw an increase in demands during COVID.
Kid took acid at a pink floyd show and jumped into a lake. In winter. Died of hypothermia.
Suddenly every girl pretended he was their ex to ride the sympathy train, and all the papers said he was a good kid with straight A's who never did d***s before....but the truth was he was about to flunk out, and nobody ever talked to him except to buy the d***s he was dealing.
Showed me that people prefer a story over the truth
White tells us that there are no particular negative events that get stuck in our memories longer than others. "Any event that gets your emotion will be encoded more. Negative events capture our attention because they shock us. Attention is the first step in memory. The last step of memory is review, and if something negative happens to us or is said to us, we will tell that story over and over. This review locks it into our memory!! Be careful what you give your attention to!"
3 HS seniors broke in one night and trashed the resource officers office. A photo of the officers recently deceased son was the main thing destroyed. Students and staff all loved the officer, everyone was upset/devastated. The 3 kids weren't allowed to attend Graduation.
Group of boys were bullying a kid at the bathrooms and actually drowned him on a toilet, that was horrible.
Chronically bullied kid shot himself in the head after pointing the gun at one of his bullies. Happened while I was at lunch one day. A crowd of screaming students came running into the cafeteria all of a sudden and one of my friends that had been down the hall from it, sat there panicking and hyper ventilating and told me what had just happened. We got released early that day and it was all over the news the next day. His name was Brian Head btw. Poor kid. Back then school shootings weren't really a common news occurrence.
Poor kid. Hope the bullies got in trouble for pushing him to the edge
That said, remembering unfortunate incidents can be beneficial to humans. For example, "Our ancestors saw one of their group eaten by a lion. They remember how they escaped or what to avoid. Put your hand on a hot stove. You may do it once, but your memory will prevent you from doing it twice," White explains.
"Remembering negative experiences can save you. You fall victim to a con, and it robs your bank account, and your memory remembers it. The next time you don't fall victim. Our memories will remember negative experiences as a form of protection!"
Nutsack in the yearbook was discovered AFTER 1300 copies were distributed.
Class of 1962. One of my classmates senior year was taking flying lessons. Took off on a solo, disappeared. No trace since then. He was a nice, smart person.
Someone kept calling in bomb threats every single day when I was in high school. It turned out to be one of the teachers who worked with the mentally handicapped kids at the elementary school. The police caught her because she kept dialing in the threat from the same phone booth.
Every year the graduating class did some kind of prank. At the end of the school year. One year they build a maze you had to walk through to he into the school and all dressed up funny and did jump scares. Stuff like that. Then one year one class deciced it would be funny to spray kids with water pistols. Not that funny to sit in class soaked but okay. Year after that they apparently thought we can do better and not only used water pistols but again build a big entryway with plastic walls. And they, out of sight of the teachers. Dumped flour on all the already wet students. Some also brought eggs and the whole thing turned into a massive fight. Other schools got wind and came down to fight. Police had to break it up. That class ruined last day of school for many years to come. Of all the schools, no one expected the wizzkids school to be the one to ruin it lol.
Water guns would be fun, but give the other kids some water guns to. Now its a free for all
A girl who had been out of school for a couple of years due to medical issues came back for senior year at 19, and got together with a teacher. Teacher was pretty young, like fresh out of his degree and was a long term sub for someone who had a baby.
It wasn’t illegal, and they were “age appropriate” for each other, but it was obviously a massive ethics violation and he was let go.
Back in the late 90s I was supposed to go to this one particular high school that was notoriously bad for various reasons. My mom did not want me to go there and put me in the lottery for a better school. Luckily, I "won" or whatever and went to the better school. Not long after I started my freshman year, some poor kid got m*rdered at the high school I was originally supposed to attend. He was bludgeoned to death and they never found out who did it.
Girl at my school got arrested for m*rdering her mom. Reporters were all over the school trying to get info on her.
usually this goes without saying, but do not let your intrusive thoughts win people.
A kid held a pencil straight up on another kid's chair when he was standing up and not looking. When he sat down it went through his pants and directly into his a*****e. He had to go to the hospital.
There was a history/theater teacher who was very well liked. Girl wasn't happy that he gave her a bad grade or a detention or something (this was years ago so my memory is foggy), so she falsely accused him of r*pe. He lost his job, his wife left him, totally ruined his life. This girl's brother was valedictorian a couple years prior, so everyone believed her. This went on for about a year or so before the girl graduated, admitted it was a false accusation, then moved across the country and deleted all her social media accounts. Nobody knows what happened to the teacher, but it's widely believed that he may have k*lled himself.
Ex-art teacher sent a lewd love letter to a high school student. It wasn’t well known because the school kept it very secretive but it was a well known rumor.
20 kids kicked out my senior year for various reasons when normally they had things like 'Camp Motivation' or complete dorm room lockdown. This was a private school. Three years after we graduated, someone in my class m*rdered his ex-girlfriend by shooting her eight times near a lake and is serving life right now.
One high school had a classmate took his desk outdoors on a beautiful spring day to finish his English test. It really made the entire class jealous & the teacher allowed it because he just wanted it to be his legacy!
Someone took a s**t in a drinking fountain, security cameras were shortly doubled.
I have so many questions. Did the s**t crumble down and fall down the drain? Did it not? How did he wipe his a*s? Did he wash his hands? Was he expelled? When? Who? How? Why TF did he take a s**t int he drinking foutain in the first place?
Riot.
There was a vacant lot across the street from my high school that was used as an unofficial parking lot by the students. It being the 70s, many students would toke up before class. That evolved into people dealing.
One morning, the police descended on the place in force - surrounded the field, helicopter, etc. Some of the students fought back throwing rocks and bottles. Tear gas was deployed.
End result was one guy (who I don't think was a student) being charged with riot, many people popped for possession, and a destroyed police car.
So my freshman year our principal got caught sleeping with a junior in his office. Then my senior year the resource officer got caught sleeping with multiple students in his office.
A girl stabbed multiple peoples wrists with pencils (including me).
A kid s**t in the desk of one of the teachers. It was during spring break so we came back to a section of the school shut down.
Varsity basketball team got into a fight with the varsity football team and it started a riot. The whole school just left for the day.
Mine is more depressing and disturbing than anything, but we had two teachers get busted for sleeping with their underage students within the same year. Both of these were teachers I had had.
October 2010, my school had a riot where police came in and arrested a few people and even maced some of us. Not directly, but they sprayed it up in the air and the mist stung our eyes.
This trend should be captioned "riots, lots of sh!t and WTF with those pedos?"
I mean, it's not really a schandal because everyone knew about it, but a teacher in my school started a relationship with a student (officially when she turned 18), he was abou 30 at that time. Her father also was a teacher at that school and was totally cool with the whole situation. They are happily married know for about 20 years.
Headteacher got fired for hitting a kid who then stumbled backwards and knocked themselves out on a doorframe. This was primary school the kid was maybe 8. Also in primary school a student SA'd another student. They were both about 6 and he did it with the full knowledge of what he was doing which was disturbing
A girl in my grade was caught having a relationship with her private badminton coach (Not related to our school). He was between 25-40 years old. We were in 7th grade…. She was a talented kid from a highly respected family. Her parents tried so hard to keep the story hush-hush but it didn’t stop the gossip spreading like wildfire at our school. After all she used some of our classmates phones to contact him during school hours because she wasn’t given her own phone at that age. Then there was another girl in my sister’s grade who got pregnant when they were in the 8th or 9th grade. She stopped schooling altogether. I see her on social media now and she appears be doing quite well with the kid.
My Sophomore year of HS was the worst year. We started with a classmate bringing a shotgun to school and having a stand-off with the police, ending in his death. He was a good quiet kid that we'd all known since grade school, so it was very sad, this being mid eighties, long before school shootings were "a thing". Then on January 28th of that same school year (Which happened to be my 16th birthday) we lost a teacher of ours who was chosen to go to space on the Space Shuttle Challenger, and we all watched it live on TV at school. RIP Louis and Christa.
Two guys in my class got mad at each other for whatever reason and started fighting in the middle of class. We were on the 2nd floor of the building and the windows were wide open. They were punching each other, throwing tables, etc... I guess they didn't realized the windows were opened so when one of them got pushed a little to hard he wasn't expecting it. Almost his entire body was out the window, the only reason he didn't fall was because a kid that was sitting right next to the window was able to grab his ankle in time and hold on to him long enough for other people to pull him back in. I'm pretty sure he would have died if had fallen onto the concrete down below. He was a close friend of mine at the time so I almost had heart attack watching the entire thing happen. They were both suspended for two weeks. Also d***s, police searches, a few gang problems, and one kid that committed murder and was then killed in prison.
We had a number of crazy things happen at my school, but the most unique thing was my junior year my AP Language and Composition teacher got called into the US Army. He was on Reserve and apparently was in a big deal position. He couldn't really tell us where he was going or what he was doing, but the rumor was he was the personal assistant for the new General at the time, General Petraeus, who oversaw the US operation in Iraq beginning around 2008. He was one of the best teachers I ever had, and his long-term sub sucked, so we were all bummed and almost no one took the AP test as a result.
I did some digging....and oh my god I found him. Don't think the rumors were true but this man is a hell of an English teacher. https://dod.defense.gov/OIR/gallery/igphoto/2001873909/

Even in the back seat of a car whild driving down the street with a full car of boys. Humiliated her younger brother who had to deal with it after daddy sent her to another school.
An honors student in our school was tutoring a girl who was a year younger than him in math. He started to like her, and asked her out. She said that she had a boyfriend and he apologized. The boyfriend and one of his friends went to the honor student's house the next night and stabbed him to death while he was babysitting his brother. He had sent his brother upstairs and told him to lock his door when he saw the boys outside. His brother was not attacked, but his life went off the rails after that.
had a kid call two bomb threats to try and sneak into the school to attack a kid with a machette, was in either nine or tenth grade. school tried to say it never happened but its the most consistent story, with the most eye witnesses, ive ever heard.
When I was in high school, a boy who didn't seem to be that big of a lothario fathered a child with a girl that I had gone to School with since 7th grade, She mysteriously disappeared during our senior year, while he enjoyed all of the fun of being a senior & everything else his entitled a**e could wish for. During this time at our Catholic School, our friend "disappeared." The "father" enjoyed all of the prom, parties, end of year celebrations, etc., yet he Never paid a penny to support his child. It enrages me to this day.
The band teacher’s son got a classmate pregnant (11th grade) and SHE was expelled. HE was allowed to stay in school.
I lit the school carpet on fire in I think was 3rd or 4th grade. Had a pencil with a staple in it an ran a paper clip through it. Held the wood of the pencil. Walked to the front of the class and sat on the floor and plugged it in. Sparks. Fire. School evacuated. Mid 70s. Too smart for my own good. Girl in junior high about 1980 brought a gun to school. Sat next to her on the bus. She was upset she got a b on a test an wanted the teacher to change it. Nothing happened luckily. Psycho kid. Also had a kid in grade school stab my arm with a super sharp pencil. Still have that lead in my forearm and the scar.
My high school got so many bomb threats that the administrators just stopped telling us
My high school had tons of drama. Before I went there a kid named Stuart Tay was murdered after they started a petty criminal organization (inspired the movie Better Luck Tomorrow). While I was there, one kid accidentally killed his kid sister in his driveway with his car, our student body got in trouble for getting drunk and/or high at their ASB camp, and a kid threatened a school shooting because he was "possessed by Satin". The year after I graduated 3 kids died: one from cancer, one from an overdose, and one from a freak accident climbing a fence. Also two girls I knew of from school ended up doing porn (one of which became pretty successful under the name Eva Angelina).
I grew up in a small rural town. Lots of scandals with teachers and students, lots of hidden pregnancies. But the worst scandal was the senior prank sometime in the early-mid 80s. The "pranksters" gathered a bunch of dead possums (reportedly a LOT of them) and placed them all around the campus so they had to shut it down for a day. Really dark and disturbing behavior.
We never had any huge accidents at school. There was one case of girls who intended to fight with knives over a boy (but in the end it was just an exchange of slaps on the face, no knives), a girl once got a firecracker thrown into her jacket's hood (just scared, no injuries), and a guy once fell down the stairs and there was blood everywhere (he made a full recovery)... but beside that, nothing really shocking or worthy of calling the police. Oh, someone once sprayed graffiti about the principal's daughter (who was a student at the same school) breaking rules in class and getting away with it, on multiple walls. They were covered up pretty quickly.
During a trip to another city, a kid ended up accidentally purchasing a proper gun. He panicked thinking he’d get caught at the train station upon returning but the teachers were all calm and one of them offered to hide it for him if he was that worried
Some idiot dumped an unpopular teachers motorcycle in the school pool causing the pool to be off limits to students except for gym class. Most forgave me eventually though. 😁
Teacher from my family started dating his student. She was 19 at the time and in her last year, he was 33 or something like that. The school principal and some other staff knew - they just told the couple to be careful with their relationship until the student will graduate. To be fair to them, they're still together after almost 20 years and one of the most happy and good for each others married couples in my family.
When I started high school a classmate told me one of the girls in our year started sleeping with 30 y.o. PA teacher while still in primary school, so she would not have been more than 14. The “relationship” continued when she went to HS. Eventually the whole town knew, and still nothing happened. She even introduced him to her parents and they accepted him as her boyfriend. No reporting him, no consequences. She was past age of consent by then (15 in my country). He continued teaching primary school PA until she graduated high school, then followed her to her university city. She became a doctor and married this looser. That was 20 years ago, she is still married to the peado.
A colleague of mine is in a relationship with a 17yo girl, they are together since she was 14. Her parents absolutely adore him. He is 33. I don't get some people...
Load More Replies...There's a couple that came to mind. One is the rumor that a bad fight in the halls caused a pregnant teacher to miscarry. Then there's the incident where someone caught the girls bathroom in the 7th grade wing on fire so we could no longer use it. The tamest and funniest tho, was when I was in 11th grade going into 12th. Someone locked an open bottle of chocolate milk in their locker on the last day before summer break. The smell lingered until almost April.
Why is it 99% of the sexual abusers are cisgender heterosexual males, but everyone assumes they are the least likely to commit the crimes?
