$100 In Cardboard Squares And 6+ Hours Of Folding And Destashing, I Have Finally Conquered My Fabric Mess
I would have used old cardboard boxes cut up instead of buying squares. Honestly, it didn’t look too bad before the redo but hey ho, certainly orderly now.
I’ve done this with my fabric, but I bought sheets of foam core from the dollar store. Cost me about $20
Load More Replies...Nice, but putting them in order by color would have been the *muah chef's kiss noise* cherry on top.
It looks like a library now. As a budding seamstress and a bookworm, I give this setup two thumbs up and a squeal of delight! 💟📚🧵🛍👗
The worldwide pandemic has not just put a pause on our lives, it made us reevaluate our values and what we want from life as a whole. By spending more time in the comfort of our homes, we had a chance to sit back and reflect on the environment that we spend so much time in.
Many of us started wondering if we are truly happy with the way our home looks and whether we are satisfied with the way it makes us feel. The boom of renovations, remodeling, home DIY projects, and redesigns followed as we rolled up our sleeves and worked on the home projects we never thought we wanted or needed before.
Produce Stand
Must have a great Manager to allow them to bother with this level of organization. A lot of places are more about just trying to get products on the floor quickly and to the right places and trying to make things "look pretty" isn't considered "productive".
Don't worry, there was plastic involved. It's just not being displayed.

Load More Replies...It's these stores with this much orderly displays that make me respect the tidiness more. I will go to the other end of the store when I've changed my mind on something. Just as well, even though I may not be the store's employee, if I see a shelf I badly want organized I'll do it. Idc. No, I don't want a job with them because I know I won't be hired to organize the shelves just so. I'll do it because I love to.
That is called "facing" a shelf. won't be faced after customers get to it though. (used to work over night helping stock a grocery store)
I Designed This Spice Rack Using Old Botanical Books And A 3D Printer!
Not a good way to store spices. In clear jars like that, they're going to fade in colour and lose their flavour within a couple of months. Either keep that rack inside a cupboard door in the dark, or change your jars to dark glass so they'll last longer. Having said that, however, it LOOKS beautiful! LOL!
Now that the pandemic is over, the tendency to better take care of ourselves and our homes is not going anywhere. Partly because, for many workers, their homes have also turned into their permanent offices. And partly because, after trying out working around the home, people realized how much fun it is.
Redditor Hansottowirtz is one of the people who eagerly took up a DIY project to organize his home. “I like cooking, 3D printing and foreign cuisines and tastes, so this seemed like a good opportunity to learn about all of those at once,” he told Bored Panda.
The result was this spice rack he designed using old botanical books and a 3D printer as shared on this Reddit community. Hansottowirtz said that the idea came after he felt that most spice racks he found online weren't special enough.
Nothing's Ever Perfect, But I'm Pretty Happy With How The Pantry Is Organized

Not Sure If This Counts, But It Makes My Organization Loving Brain Happy
From the post: " I bought a Philips 6-Outlet Extender Surge Protector with USB so the surge protector wouldn’t have to be on the ground. Then I wound up any excess cord with Velcro (generic from Microcenter) and hung the loop on a Command hook attached to the back of the desk. It’s not perfect because the monitor has a heavy cube that is just sitting on the desk right now. But it works for now!"
Load More Replies...It would make everyone happy. I broke my nose tripping over a computer cable once.
The first step of the process for Hansottowirtz was taking a very good look at the images. “I started with the botanical drawings from Wikipedia but quickly found out that there are many hard-to-find old botanical books with beautiful drawings. All the sources are listed on Github.”
Most of the hours were spent on searching the right plants in those books, then cutting them out using Photoshop and lastly, creating a label for them, the Redditor told us. “Next to that, I designed the rack in Fusion 360 and did many test prints before arriving at the current design.”

Pegboard Organisers For My Art Corner
What a wonderful idea! I've got a wooden box for my paint, but it is HEAVY!
Although Hansottowirtz is very happy with the result he came up with, he agrees that there are multiple things that can be improved. “The fit of the jars on the rack is not very stable and the Ikea jars let UV light through, which degrades the spices faster,” he noted and added that the same jars “don't have a perfect seal.”
Moreover, “the printing quality of the labels isn't good enough as I printed them on the office printer. I'm looking into professional printing now and might start selling them on Etsy soon,” Hansottowirtz added.
Before Hansottowirtz designed this rack, he said that he didn't know a lot about spices. “I've learned so much while doing the research. If you don't know everything beforehand, try to learn things along the way, and you'll always enjoy the process better.”
My Place Has A Very Small Kitchen, So I Had To Get Creative With Storage. I Couldn’t Be Happier With How This Turned Out!!
It is beautifully arranged, but I would put the stand mixer on a lower shelf : it is one of the heavier item, so it would stabilise the shelf and less risk to let it fall on you when grabbing it.
100% this except the mixer looks just a bit too big to fit between the shelves.
Load More Replies...My thoughts exactly. I don't have the floor or wall space to allow for such generous shelving. I wouldn't be able to fit even one of those units in my kitchen.
Load More Replies...Well at least the books are cookbooks. They come in handy when the internet is down and you can't access Pinterest for a recipe
Load More Replies...So I'm going to ask this... how on earth do you keep everything grease-free when you cook. It's bound to get on things and then dust settles on top of that. I absolutely LOVE your idea and it's gorgeous, I'm just curious cuz I have a small kitchen.
I stayed in a tiny holiday place last month, the kitchen was a cupboard about the size of a wardrobe. You opened the upper doors to the work surface, hob, sink, microwave, and shelves. The lower half had the fridge, dishwasher and cupboard under sink. Then you closed the doors and it disappeared. I wish I knew how to post a photo of it.

Quite an assumption. I know a couple of people who sort their books like this, and they read them a lot, they just like the way it looks too. You can love the visual aspect of your book rack and love reading, it doesn't have to be one or the other.

When I worked in restock, this was what they wanted us to do. Based on the time they gave us and how overworked we already were, it never happened. Still have strange dreams about achieving it.
That looks really pretty but there is a system as how merchandise is displayed. The stuff they want to sell goes eye level. Stuff dangerous to little kids goes up higher. Company sales people actually have to be aggressive just to get their product on the shelf in a retail store especially a grocery. Who gets more product etc is all a big battle. Who gets the end caps, who gets the products towards the ends of the isles. It's all a song and dance that means big bucks to those who get the best placement. And I doubt it has any connection to color organization. Color on the product however is highly researched to grab your attention. I worked retail all through college and part time when I substituted. Mostly as the manager.
I know this chane and it's actually the standart to organize the stock like this. So they had to do it and the manager would demand them to

Gorgeous organization, but unless you’re in the business end of electronics, no human needs that many cables! 🤣

I found that all my wall mounted tools get covered in sawdust. It then is a pain to clean it all off. I thought a cabinet with doors might be better for storing my tools.
Or you could have a clear plastic pull down screen to cover when working, like the see through stuff they use as wind breaks in cafes so it would roll back up easily

Rant: Color Organization, While It May Look Organized I Can Tell You That It Is Much Easier To Find A Red LEGO 3x2 In A Box Of 3x2s Than A Red 3x2 In A Box Of Red Bricks. Our Eyes And Brains Are Actually Insane In Their Capability To Differentiate Color, Shapes Not So Much. Its Basically Camouflage
Fully agree. I moved from sorting by color to sorting by shape, dimensions and/or function (like all sort of antennas, windscreens or wheels).
Or you are like me and sort by BOTH colour and shape / function, lol (it helps that I only design my Lego MOCs with a chosen range of colours rather than collect all colours).

Load More Replies...I love how you spent so much time thinking about the pros and cons of color sorting while I just stuff everything into a bin and call it a day :)
Believe it or not, this really isn't a lot of Legos. I have about 200 lbs (we weighed each box as we stored it) and have no idea what to do with them all. Don't buy your kits lots of Lego kits.
The tiny lego bar with the clip/claw on the end was what drove me to sort the lego, larger blocks by color in old chocolate tubs wrapped in vinyl and the smaller bits by type in "toolboxes" that are for sorting screws/bolts/washers etc. Specific style parts like wheels and the circular satellite dish style etc have their own tuff boxes
We have our Lego organizer by color. I honestly find it easier that way

After 1.5 Years Of Living In Tiny Apartment Kitchen With Little Cabinet Space Hell, My Pantry Is Finally Starting To Look Organized
Normally, the word a n a l would get censored by BP. Now they're using it in a headline, and in a very bad way. "A**l people" aren't just people that are obsessed with order and organization. People who are in general very controlling (with their environment), who are sticklers, cheapskates, and very obstinate, are usually called a**l-retentive.
What does " A**l people" means? English is not my mother tongue, i'm a bit lost...
Load More Replies...That means you are getting work done or at least working on something. I suspect some people with super clean and highly organized work areas don't do much.
Load More Replies...Editors: Please change the spacing on this headline. Everything from "people" on is cut off on the front page making this look like a very different gallery.
I wouldn't mind a different headline - how did "a**l" get in there? I'm not native English so maybe my understanding of the word in this context is wrong, but it is a negative description, close minded and annoying, unwilling to change people? Why use that description in this post that starts with "satisfying" - so it's positive?
Load More Replies...Seems to me that a lot of this tidying involves a lot of throwing things out. Just putting things in boxes and drawers doesn't make it any smaller. Like, where did all the pillows go in #48?

The you that always blames yourself for everything that goes wrong. this letter is to you. You are incredible. You make this wolrd a little bit more wonderful.. You have so much potential and so many things left for you to discover. you have so much time to do everything you love. Better things are coming Your way, so please just hang in there. You can do it. take a step back. You are human. You are beautiful. You are so beautiful. And you can be anything. You can be everything. Do not hate yourself because someone broke your heart, or your best friend betrayed you or someone called you ugly or fat or stupid or worthless. Don't concern yourself in things you cannot control. cry when you need to and let go when it's time.

I wouldn't mind a different headline - how did "a**l" get in there? I'm not native English so maybe my understanding of the word in this context is wrong, but it is a negative description, close minded and annoying, unwilling to change people? Why use that description in this post that starts with "satisfying" - so it's positive?

Tru dat. One of the pantry redos wasn't even the same pantry or the same size.
