*DON'T want your kids to be "addicted"

Parenting, yes, but it also about cultural values and ethics. Parents have a lot of power, but when it is all said and done, culture and cultural norms have much more power. Advertisements that we are bombarded with sending a serious message that can and do override the messages of the best parents. Take my nephew. His parents are amazing, nurturing, and strict as to the use of technology. AND they set the example daily, explaining why they make the rules they make. But his everyday culture at school and away from the home send another message entirely. So, he wonders, how can his parents be right and the entire rest of the world wrong? This is why "it takes a village" is such an important phrase. Parenting can go only so far because in the end the village also has to send the same message, and without that, the best of parents may not succeed. Mahalo for this conversation.

I'm honestly tired of people, commenters or not, claiming there's something "wrong" with art as a critical lens to view society. I'm sorry but if you cant handle the art DON'T LOOK AT IT.

I agree. 6 year olds aren't responsible enough for phones yet. However, 18... uh yeah. That should be responsible enough. They're a legal adult at that age here XD I'd say 12 is a good age for a flip phone or something to talk to their friends with, and then 14-16 for a smart phone. It's a scary world out there, and children don't need to be exposed to it so early. Let kids be kids for a while. They will thank you for it later

Yep. Exactly, children DON’T need phones at 18, let alone 6!!!

I didn't think about it as someone complaining, I thought it was just a reminder for myself to double check where I stand in these pictures. I thought they were interesting to scroll through.
