Yes, that Robin Hood, England’s hero, who stole from the rich and gave to the poor.

I visited Robins Stride, as it is known locally as.

The legend is that Robin Hood spent time here and even jumped over the rocks, hence the name Robin Hood’s stride.

Whether or not he did is still to be proved. Either way, the landmark is a great place to visit in the Derbyshire countryside of England as the views on top are amazing.

There are a lot of carvings in the rocks. I saw one that I thought was interesting from 1885, which is crazy when you think that someone was climbing the rocks over 136 years ago.

It makes me wonder who he or she was and why did they carve the year into the rocks?

I also visited the hermits’ cave near by, where there is a stone cross of Jesus carved out of the cave wall dating to around the 13th or 14th century.
