Potholes are the worst part of everyone’s commute. They are not only bad for your car, they can ruin your dinner too. Imagine hitting a pothole with your fresh takeaway pizza on a passenger seat. Sounds awful, right? Fortunately, there’s a popular pizza chain which knows the horrible feeling of a pizza box flipping over while driving on a bumpy road. To prevent this from happening Domino’s pizza launched a campaign ‘Paving For Pizza’. They help to pave roads in towns across the USA, so everyone could drive home with their pizzas safe. The best part – you don’t have to be a pizza-lover to benefit from this effort, because it helps everyone.

Check out the results of this amazing campaign below and tell us what you think in the comments!

And this is how we become a community. I'd like to think this is more than a pr stunt. They could have just given money to fix holes, like other companies donate money to causes, but no. They slapped thier name on it. Part pr stunt I'm sure, but at least the community knows they are deff helping out somewhere. People like to see visual improvements. And when a pizza chain gets it done faster than your tax paid city, well that says something, and leaves some real good feels.

Call me a pessimist but give money to fix holes and it will vanish into a different kind of black hole only to appear in someone's 'bonus' package. But i agree with you, we are bombarded with advertising in every other facet of our lives - at least this has a positive outcome.

Really like this company even more now! I live in suburban area that has a somewhat rough reputation, even though it's not all that way. They are the only pizza place that will deliver and they absolutely have the nicest drivers. One even took back the wrong pop I ordered one time and brought what I wanted instead. And to go to a convenience store to get some. (Yes, I tipped her very well.) I make sure to always tip the drivers as much as I can afford, they are doing a real service for me and I appreciate it. I also make sure the company gets good reviews.

This is amazing, and genius marketing, but I'm sure it's not to save the pizzas. That was just cheezy.

This is really nice! I don't really like their pizza, but this was a great thing for them to do and I respect them for that.

Your taxes pay for road construction is clearly a shame. This has to be the most brilliant marketing strategy ever! Bravo Dominos!

They could have use a different approach in PR terms, but the company did something that benefited the community. and that, my friends, is the right thing to do!

How do I get them to come to my town? The oilfield traffics has destroyed the roads and the corrupt city officials don't care

How about Pay for Teachers if they are going to take on Public Works. Maybe they can try assisting Public Education.

This is a super awesome move - but I am still glad that I live in a country where the local governments (usually) fix the roads! Hurray for paying taxes!! :-)

I don't know about anybody else, but I find this depressing. Should a pizza company be fixing the streets? No - they shouldn't have to. But they do have to, because between the pressures of urban sprawl (meaning there's more pavement to need repair), the drop in tax revenues (mainly because of tax cuts to "job creators" who then don't create jobs) and the increased cost of repaving due to privatization (private paving companies end up costing municipalities 3 to 4 times what it would cost to have public employees do it, but public employees have to be paid pensions and benefits and such, so municipalities think that it will be cheaper - even though it's not), cities and towns can't afford to keep up with infrastructure.

This is like step 16 on the path to Idiocracy. The gesture is lovely but it reeks of Brawndo.

This is disturbing on many levels....the fact that the mighty USA can't do something as simple as maintain their roads (#MAGA my a**e), to the point that a private enterprise has to step in with a massive PR stunt to help out. Now how about they fix the potholes and not advertise the fact... that would really show they care, more than it being a self satisfying PR exercise.

Private enterprise is what makes America great. Private companies have always been more efficient than government. Why shouldn't they get good PR from this? They deserve it. They saw a need and fixed it.
