People have accused Rihanna of disrespecting Christians and Catholics after the singer dressed up as a sexy nun for the spring cover of Interview Magazine.
The magazine issue, titled “Rihanna Is Ready To Confess,” shows the superstar wearing a black and white habit with an unbuttoned blouse that exposes her cleavage. She also has a heavy makeup look, consisting of light blue eyeshadow, red lips, and a small cross drawn on her cheek.
- Rihanna was criticized for dressing as a provocative nun on the cover of Interview Magazine.
- Critics accuse Rihanna of disrespecting Christian and Catholic beliefs with her outfit.
- Rihanna, a self-identified Christian, had previously discussed her deep faith and prayer habits.
But some people were not as interested in reading about the hitmaker’s career or love life revelations. Instead, they focused on what they perceived to be a religious offense.
“All of these big stars have been at full force mocking God in some form or fashion, especially over the last few years. It’s sickening,” a critic wrote.

“It is mockery and disrespectful. It’s not even cute or sexy! As a supposed believer, she should know better,” another person penned.
A third person said: “I am not Christian, but this is ridiculous. If you can’t respect, then don’t mock.”
“There are some things that you just don’t play with, and this is one of them,” a separate social media user agreed.
However, other fans jumped to the “Love On The Brain” singer’s defense, arguing that she could express herself however she pleased.
“Can you guys stop canceling people for 5 minutes?” someone wrote.
Many social media users have taken offense at her look, interpreting the singer’s style as contradictory to her religious beliefs

“A costume that we’ve all seen before every Halloween? You can buy sexy nun costumes everywhere. Is there anything that doesn’t trigger you people?” another user expressed.
Meanwhile, many highlighted that superstars like Madonna had previously embraced this controversial style, writing, “Madonna did this years ago… It’s ok, you’ll get over it.”
“To the haters: WOMP WOMP. You look good, RiRi!!!!” an additional fan said.
The mother-of-two, who identifies as a Christian, has previously spoken about the important role her faith has in her life.
Speaking with her “Ocean’s 8” co-star Sarah Paulson for Interview Magazine in 2019, Rihanna said she prays every single morning. Additionally, the Grammy winner told Sarah that she’s “always been” a person of real faith.

“My first time praying and fasting was when I was 7 years old. I did that on my own because I wanted to go to New York, and I knew that this was a sacrifice I had to make in order for God to make sure I could get there,” she said.
When asked if she had ever felt abandoned by God, the 36-year-old singer responded, “Not my faith, but I have been in a place where I felt like maybe I had disappointed God so much that we weren’t as close. Actually, that happened to me while I was making ‘Anti’ [her eighth album ]. That was a really hard time, but thank God, I got through it.”
In her latest interview, the Barbadian star opened up about her relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple share two sons: Riot Rose, eight months, and RZA, born in 2022.
What initially brought the couple together was their mutual creative interests and unconditional support for each other’s careers.
“We saw fashion the same. We saw creative [sic] the same. We ended up in the same circles a lot. And past that, when we grew up, we ended up supporting each other’s brands, products, and creative [sic] all the time,” she explained.

Rihanna understood the potential risk of entering a relationship with her close friend, knowing it could damage the bond she had forged with him. Yet, she was willing to take that chance.
“We’ve known each other for a long time. I’ve seen him in relationships. He’s seen me in relationships. We’ve seen each other outside of relationships. We knew what we’re capable of, and the trouble that we could bring to each other’s lives,” the “Umbrella” singer said.
“We can make or break each other’s hearts. And so, we started dating with a lot of caution.”
“It was just, ‘This is a flower. It’s either going to die or blossom. But I’m going to let it decide itself.'”
Bored Panda has contacted Rihanna’s representatives for comment.
People had mixed reactions regarding the singer’s magazine cover
She talks about fasting so God would let her get to NYC, and she's now a billionaire, successful creatively, a mother of two and in a good relationship. For an avowed lifelong Christian, it does look pretty ungrateful and disrespectful.
Not nearly as disrespectful and as offensive (to me) as Trump holding a bible and selling bibles and claiming he's a Christian - not even close. She's doing it to be provocative, and it worked. He's doing it because he's an evil, lying POS and wants to get money out of the poor Christian saps that believe in him - to pay his fines that he got in such an un-Godly manner.
My most conservative friends agree with me - and every other person with critical thinking skills beyond those of 1st grader do too.
