This Wild Rhino Walked Up To A Cameraman, And Demanded A Belly Rub

It was just another ordinary day for cameraman Garth De Bruno Austin, who was shooting a conservation film about rhino poaching in South Africa, when he was suddenly approached by a rhino asking for a belly rub. All of this was captured in a 15-second video that proves even rhinos need some TLC every now and then.

“If a rhino walks straight up to you while you’re filming and wants some rubs… you better rub that rhino like your life depends on it!,” Austin writes. “Lucky for me she left my URSA Mini 4K camera alone!”

Austin is quick to warn that rhinos can be extremely dangerous and that although this rhino was a wild one, the man had managed to build up a level of trust with the animal after spending years filming it.

“Do NOT try and do this with a truly wild rhino as it may end up with you being dead!,” Austin says. “FYI, I did not approach this animal, it was completely her decision to let me come into her personal space and touch her.”

Whoa!! That looks super cute adorable, but also super freaking scary!! No matter how tame, still a wild animal.

Good thing baby rhino's mum wasn't around to give the photographer a belly rub in return... they can get mighty fierce and protective

But my question is, when everybody wants to go for a drive, does the rhino get in front or the back? Silly me, any where (s)he wants to, right?

The rhino probably like people, since some saved it. My reasoning; look at the horn. It was cut off by some piece of s**t human being.

This piece of s**t human being might have saved her life. Most rhino poachers would kill it and then cut the horn (and sell it), as just happened to rhino Vince in a zoo in France. See: no horn -> no kill -> happy rhino.
